Playing as Knuckles made this zone way easier to deal with. Edit: Knuckles has advantages against the ghosts and the level itself. He literally knows secrets.
No. Knuckles is a much harder play through. It took me a very long time to figure out the last puzzle, you know the one where you hit the switch on the ceiling and the sand fills so you can push the block where the swtich does not go back

Then the ghosts will not disturb Knuckle's fight
The light automatically turns back on when you get to the boss so it doesn’t count.
