    That does sound very impressive. Can't wait to get mine in the mail and stick it in my D-EF47.

      Dude, that's going to sound amazing. Add some transformer and tube mojo in there... mmmmhmmm.

      @@MarkYoshimotoNemcoff Yes, I have high hopes. Got me a K87 for my D87 as well. You'll see them naked on the GDIY thread.

    Theoretically, I can drop this into my tlm103?

    • @MarkYoshimotoNemcoff
      @MarkYoshimotoNemcoff  ปีที่แล้ว

      I’m 95 percent sure you could. I’m of the belief the 103 circuit is naturally flat with no built in EQ.

    Hey! Could you link me to the rest of the things needed to put together that thing?
    where could i get the circuit and which one?
    im kind of new to this. just got myself an LX but I’d love to get into the DIY part of it.
    thanks alot!

      I put a link to the body from Aliexpress in the description. I’m using my Assassin circuit but you can easily swap in a transformerless, or transformer-fed circuit from Microphone-parts.com. The tricky part is finagling hanging the boards inside the body, but you can just use wire or zip ties, if you have to.

    I appreciate that you are reviewing all of these mics, BUT most of us don't exclusively do voiceover only - and there are a lot of great mics that sound great for VO. Going forward, can you PLEASE also include examples where the mics you review are being used on acoustic guitar and with a vocalist? Thanks. Otherwise your videos are missing a large percentage of your potential audience.

    • @MarkYoshimotoNemcoff

      Thank you, but I''m not looking for a large potential audience. All I do is VO, so I'm not interested in doing music-related demos.

    How is compare to Thiersch M7 capsule? Im realy like M7 but not k47.

    • @MarkYoshimotoNemcoff
      @MarkYoshimotoNemcoff  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Haven't used the Thiersch. The only M7 I can compare it to is the 3u, which feels a bit more scooped. You can hear the 3u M7 in any of my "Butterstick" videos.

    Sounds very nice on non-pushed dialog but what about a punchy power read?

    • @MarkYoshimotoNemcoff
      @MarkYoshimotoNemcoff  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Great question Paul! Methinks we'll have to try that in a future video. I had only really initially thought of the mic for use with smaller voice stuff that I wanted to sound more powerful, but why not throw another keg of black powder on it and see what we get?

    How much to build like you did???

    • @MarkYoshimotoNemcoff
      @MarkYoshimotoNemcoff  ปีที่แล้ว

      Capsule is $120. Body from Aliexpress, delivered was about $140. Add a circuit of your choosing. The one I used is my proprietary circuit which cost a bunch of money to create so I'm not going to factor that into the cost, but let's just say you can build a great mic with this capsule for a pretty decent price.

    It's almost too good to be true

    • @MarkYoshimotoNemcoff
      @MarkYoshimotoNemcoff  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No kidding. I hear this capsule and I'm thinking to myself, "I must be living in a simulation. No way this is real." And then I spill coffee on myself and think, "Man, they simulate that burn on my thigh so well I can feel it."

    • @WarerBrow
      @WarerBrow ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@MarkYoshimotoNemcoff I think that the most important factor is existing measurements of this capsule, which shows it's factual perfection. Sellers always tend to play with buyers inability to differentiate, say, very little of people can adequately tell us why "Neumann" costs so much..

    • @MarkYoshimotoNemcoff
      @MarkYoshimotoNemcoff  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@WarerBrow Absolutely, Soliloqueen's transparency and ability to answer any and all tech questions about her capsule and how it came to be is so refreshing. There's no doubt she knows exactly what she's doing and what those little holes in the capsule really do. And the prices are pretty incredible for this level of quality.
