just a curious guy overhere, what type of alcohol did you use ?
@@Spectacular-cuoredicioccolato I usede Belvedere vodka. It is only 40% but I used 50mL less syrup. Still has a kick with the real lemon taste.

I’ve made this twice, once with Everclear, and once with super high proof Polish vodka (same proof as everclear). I prefer the everclear version, although for some reason it seems to need to be diluted a bit more than the other.

I love that you used raw sugar and this would add a bit of Molasses to the flavor. I think that is brilliant and so different from everyone else. A big Thank you and I like it :D

Can we use lemon flavored vodka instead of the pure alcohol?
Yes but you should double the quantity of the vodka and keep the same quantity for the other ingredients
100% recommend. I made the limoncello with Everclear and white sugar. The taste is just as good as the commercial limoncello in America, but I think that I would use a bit more of the simple syrup to dilute it because it was a lemony punch to the face and overwhelmed my test subject. Also, the white sugar created a nice yellow liquid while the brown sugar Andrea used made it a lot darker (Is the brown sugar more authentic?).

Buongiorno If i do not have 95 percent spirit so I will use the vodka The recipe gonna be 2 lemon, 500 mil vodka, no water and 75 grams sugar? I was reading the comments and when I am going to use vodka I need double quantity so instead 250 I need 500 and instead 150 grams sugar only 75 grams sugar? Grazie mille!! No water 😉 double the vodka and use 100 g of sugar . Try and if you like more sweet you can add more sugar

You can use it for other recipes 😉 for limoncello only the yellow skin

I'll try this one, while I'm waiting for your apple liqueur recipe - I just bought some Calvados at the liquor store and it was expensive!
Ok but Calvados is like our Grappa , you need a specific instrument to make it. I have done the apple cider. Sorry
I understand that Calvados is type of brandy - definitely not a liqueur (You used it in your apple cake?). I would need distillation equipment, which is illegal in Canada unless you are licensed distillery. We do have a green apple liqueur here called Sour Puss. It's quite sweet, is about 20% alcohol and great for mixed cocktails. I was more thinking of that, not the brandy :) cheer.
I would like to try the apple cider too, as I have so many apples on my tree this year.

Can this be made with vodka ( lower alcohol) ? Would I use no water, and dissolve the sugar in the alcohol with the lemon skin?
Yes 👍🏼 without water and probably only half of the sugar

Only the yellow skin, you can use the juice for other recipes 😉

I just hastily peeled two lemons and the shoddy result (not completely skinned lemons, quite a bit of pith) came to 21 grams.

Also I have pancetta drying now, following your recipe, this is the 3rd time I have made it and it works every time.
