    The goban is from the game Just Go on steam, which has a nice 3d animation from Unity. I use a couple of effects from GLAT ( • GLAT - Go Live Annotat... ). The overlay is just a bunch of stuff I cobbled together myself, a Telegraph original! 😀

    You truly unlocked the beauty of this game. Had I read it alone, I would have missed so much of the nuance and thoughtfulness that you illuminated. Thank you!

    What a beautiful game! Thank you for presenting this, I never would have been able to really appreciate Go without your channel. I've been satisfied with just hitting single digit kyu, but games like this make me want to push past to reach dan some day

    Wow, Shin Jinseo in this game and in the first one are like two different players. In the first one, he is like a ruthless machine. I agree with the earlier comments and appreciate the great community here. I am an SDK player and enjoy playing Go, but I never enjoyed watching pro games. Your commentaries not only make them accessible but also very entertaining. Thanks for enhancing my appreciation of the game. Please keep doing it!

    Honestly I never really followed pro games. But when I watch your videos I am left speechless by the briliance in their play. You do a really good job explaining these games.

    It's interesting to hear some top pros say Shin's move 60 at S4 was a mistake even though it's a blue move. A mistake in the sense of not really knowing his opponent --- sometimes top engine suggestions are not necessarily the right moves to play. They say he should have played M4 or L4 instead, which would have better influenced the centre. Given the loss at the top, Gu was all-in with the moyo gamble. Gu's style is chaos and fighting, and Shin allowed his opponent to utilize his strength completely.

      Really cool to hear! I guess it was just too obvious that s4 is the blue move, so Shin Jinseo couldn't resist. I think his dedication to trying to play the theoretically proper move over the practical move as often as possible is part of why I like his style so much :D

    Best Go game commentary on utoob. I'm 5k and the game of Go opens up to me watching your content more than via any other content, book or video. Only your content bridges my noob-understanding to genuine grok-level insight into this game, or at least it begins to feel that way anyway. It's a joy. I honestly think you're the best. You are for me anyway and I doubt I'm alone. Every single one of your videos is magnificent, too. Please keep this up, my man. You're a gift. We really appreciate you.

    Your commentary conveys the excitement and thoughts of the game in a way that reminds me of countsheep, a Chinese commentator who was active in giving commentary in the late oughts/early teens. I love your style; thank you for the insightful review!

    In my opinion: your channel and badukdoctor are really the highest quality for education in the game of baduk. I really believe I have gotten stronger watching your videos together and then taking the advice you both have.

    Nice commentary!
    I watched it live on Michael Redmond's channel (with his commentary) and for some reason we had a disagreement about move 68.
    On the surface it seems very natural, but it was also easy to anticipate the aggressive response, and if White is leading I think it's better to avoid such complications inside black's sphere of influence. Michael said he sees o fault in this move, but later I saw in the tygem review that K10 was suggested (maybe as preparation for this). I think K10 makes more sense to me... What do you think? I understand that there was that chance in the corner and perhaps even afterwards, but it was very tense anyhow - and when (being the world #1 player) you have a 5 point lead I think you should avoid letting the game become so complicated.

    • @telegraphgo
      @telegraphgo  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      K10 would be no less complicated. No matter what, white is throwing some stones down that are going to get attacked. For players at this level, attachments generally simplify the fighting, as there's only a few variations black can choose from. Shin Jinseo knew very well what Gu Zihao was going to do and he was comfortable with it, which may not have been true of k10.

      i suspect it's also a matter of fighting spirit: winning by 0.5 is good, but winning by 5 feels better...
      and winning after having to defend your lead by backing down carefully over & over again could feel worse than losing in an incendiary all-or-nothing fight?
      & then there's the other thing: when you're ahead you should play to get further ahead. anything else is slack.
