His speaking voice was just as beautiful as his singing voice but in such a different way. When he speaks he sounds so childlike and innocent, unsure of himself. And when he sings he's like a powerful rock god booming with raw emotion.
You can tell by his voice here that he's Faded, If we were to find an example of his beautiful voice it would definitely not be this interview because you can actually hear him nodding out basically. Lol girls are so cute. If you only had a clue what type of hell this man put himself through you would not be saying that. You can only tell what he's been through if you were a complete drug addict. Laynes my favorite person in this whole world besides Jesus but it's because I've put myself through 13 horrible years of drug addiction and can actually feel his pain. Stop being so naive, it's embarrassing. Not being mean just so tired of people who don't have any idea about life and reality.
The part where he says if that was still a significant thing in my life just is heartbreaking. That poor man addiction is a beast. Hope you found peace wherever you are Layne.
Have listened to a couple of Layne's interviews and I must say his voice never changes as in reminiscent of a young innocent and shy young man, but with a backsplash of anxious naivety toward his music career as if to say that he is still lost in the mindset of, " I can't believe where I am today. I always thought I was a singer that fronted a band and that's it. Never thought in my wildest of dreams I would be where I am today."
One does not just listen to AIC music one feels emotion while listening. It's a total experience a very pleasant one. Layne is missed on so many levels it's unreal he is a true artist. ❤ Rest easy now angel rest easy knowing how much you are appreciated loved and admired.❤RIP LAYNE AND MIKE ❤🕶❤🕶❤
He indeed was some sort of angel. A truly unique and intriguing person, with a spiritual mission. He has touched many lives and he is missed greatly. Thank you Layne❤️🙏🏼
I feel all those emotions toward Layne, but MS can FO, I know a lot of personal stuff he did that was downright evil and he was never the nicest to Layne behind the scene’s because he was jealous, Layne still tried with him for years taking his crap because Layne was a sweet guy, there are many reasons MS was fired that the band never openly talked about, but they were definitely not secrets from the AIC team.
I love to live inside this wonderland of alice in chains i am in since i started listening to them some months ago, connecting with Layne (even if its just through internet, life is strange isnt it?) is one of the best things that has happened in my life and is helping me a lot in my personal suffering. Thankful that a being like Layne existed in human form.
@@kittylaflamme5941 And who are you? So I'm guessing you're the enlightened one that understands him. You're ego is gross and your character is pathetic.
@@kittylaflamme5941 oh and if you're that stupid the media display him at his worst not his best... So that is a form of misunderstanding, there interviews where he said a lot of people explain to him what their songs means and they're completely wrong about it. So yeah he was misunderstood dumbas
Kitty, my guess is the ‘misunderstood’ was how the press basically treated him like shit, assuming he was advocating the use of drugs-painting him as this dark figure who should be shamed (while Cobain was up on a pedestal 🤦🏻♀️-) ....when, in reality, he was simply laying his story right out there for everyone to soak in....that his choices and struggles were a major source of his pain and he was just being honest about it. Dude had more depth in his lil finger than most of the artists out there.
Thank you. Some of the most beautiful souls are also the most broken. He was demonized, mocked and shamed. If it was a singer who had cancer and smoked cigarettes, I doubt they would be half this harsh. Also underlying depression is a beast that suffocates your entire being, hard to explain to people who have fortunately not had to deal with it. And if they have, one persons struggle is not the same as the next. Rip to a true legend.
The primary topics people gave his songs were not where he was trying to hit one dimentionaly, he did something wide and new, anyone can relate to Alice in Chains, it's all about the feelings, the lyrics can fit anyone, that's why it'll keep reaching the youth over and over
Well put dude and may their music hit every generation over and over and over....let their music touch souls in such a way that their music will Never fade out. AIC ALWAYS AND FOREVER......
It just breaks my heart. I would have never left u be hind maybe one day Jerry Cantrell will let me sing one of your guys song's. God bless you If I get 2 sing I one of your songs I will do u proud amen baby
For the young only. If he was alive..like Chris Cornell, living in the past would be something he hated. Grace Slick said it best "No one over 40 should be singing rock and roll." She added " I would have to sing about emotions I don't even have anymore". When the Rolling Stones sing Time is on my Side? It now pathos for the nearing 80 year olds, right? or pathetic?
They said this because they don't know yet what it is yet to loose youth, hope, angst beauty. Age brings another form of disparity; one of silence, and of regret. If our older, the elder, were to band, it would be a quiet wailing, keeling, heard loud only within their own broken hearts. Not something to be caught on sound waves and shared...too bitter and broken for mass appeal. No doubt, Layne knows now. I almost hope you, Stan, do not.
I think Layne was killed by the music industry. He had an agenda of his own and he was a threat to nefarious entertainment industry. they knew people would listen.
I see what you're saying but I truly believe Layne had some deep depression. He is just a vulnerable as any other human being. Even though he was embarrassed of his addiction he wasnt afraid to express it cause he new deep down it would help someone. His whole life he was battling himself and we were just listening to his crys for help through his music. The only thing that the industry has done was not recognized how talented and empathetic he was. They just put an easy label of a druggie on him, rather someone who was suffering.
His speaking voice was just as beautiful as his singing voice but in such a different way. When he speaks he sounds so childlike and innocent, unsure of himself. And when he sings he's like a powerful rock god booming with raw emotion.
That is the best explanation I have ever heard about him100% truth, very well said❤️
He was heaven sent ♥️ I agree!
IKR, his speaking voice is so soft and beautiful 💗
I agree

His voice is always calming to me miss him dearly
Long live Layne Staley😢❤ a true vocal God and a legend indeed 🤟🔥🔥
The part where he says if that was still a significant thing in my life just is heartbreaking. That poor man addiction is a beast. Hope you found peace wherever you are Layne.
I love this. So many cannot express empathy, thank you foe seeing it 💕
Layne's voice and AIC music is helping me through a hard situation right now.

It's already been said, but he WAS Otherworldly.
I hope Layne Stayle legacy last forever... Such a beautiful and misunderstood human being.
Says who...who misunderstood him?....It was plain...He didnt hold back....So where is the mystery?..
Maybe You don't understand him!....

If you haven't yet, read "Sing Backwards and Weep: A Memoir" by Mark Lanegan. Cool Mark and Layne stories in there and some horrifying ones as well.

Love this photo! Absolutely Brilliant!! Thx to the Talent that (Paul) has brought this phenomenal shot to us!! Lovin it!!!!
❤❤❤
why does he look like a modern rapper in this picture lmfao
Because every modern rapper tries to look like him and Kurt Cobain.
I loved layne so mutch ❤

Why oh why 😪😪 on top of it, the music industry like everything else on earth is corrupted and utter shite
He must have been nervous about his own life.
:(
We killed him. Like Elvis, like Michael J, we watched him nor show up and did nothing.
Ele se isolou dos amigos e família. Desistiu da reabilitação. A morte de sua namorada foi demais para ele, infelizmente.
Really sounds like kurt cobain
They both sound like eachother because heroin.
that's the heroin voice
I think Layne was killed by the music industry.
He had an agenda of his own and he was a threat to nefarious entertainment industry.
they knew people would listen.
Wrong, dumbass #1 and dumbass #2. Lane Stayley was a hardcore drug addict and took the slow walk down to the basement if you know what I mean.
They all are. Killed by the industry. Only
No, it was a speedball.
I see what you're saying but I truly believe Layne had some deep depression. He is just a vulnerable as any other human being. There is nothing at all to indicate any of that, Layne died from years prolonged drug use.
