Hi Michele! Yes you need drain them first. I talk about this at the 1:35 video mark. If you would like written instructions you can find them here mexicanmademeatless.com/how-to-prepare-corn-husks-for-tamales/
No idea what masa is yet, but I'm trying! I just grilled some chicken with homemade enchilada sauce and there's a sweet Mexican grandmother on TH-cam who says we can even start making our own Chile powder! Anyway, y'all still can't beat my Italian meat sauce! Oh and ty!😘
Where can you find good hojas? All the ones found in Phoenix are so wrinkled that most are unusable. Soaking in hot water makes no difference. Suggestions?
Hola! Oh no that's too bad. I live in Mexico and the brands here aren't the same. Have you tried getting some from Amazon? You could read the reviews before you buy. Good luck.
@@MexicanMadeMeatless I did try Amazon, but the only brand that got good reviews is out of stock. I tried the company directly, but they are out of stock. Thank you for your suggestion.
Thank you. I wondered if I should take them out of the water or let them dry before making.

So how long does it take for them to soften?
Hi it can take about 30 to 40 minutes, depending on the temperature of the water.

Thank you for the video, I just wish I could hear you better and leave out the background music. It's not necessary.
Thank you and I appreciate your feedback. I'll keep working on improving the videos. 🙏🏽
Agree. At the 1:53-55 time it was especially hard to understand what you are saying.
