    Just when I finished sewing an invisible zipper to my skirt the slider came out on the top, i tried getting it in the same way it got out but it was imposible, so I tried from the bottom just how you explained, and after a while and a lot patience I finally fixed it and didn't have to change the whole zipper, thank you, thank you very much... your video was perfect!

    Thank you so much for this! I just finished a pair of shorts and after 1 wash, the bottom stopper on my zipper came off and the pull came off completely. I thought I was going to have to rip them apart and put in a new one. You saved me all that work! 🙏🏻

    Thank goodness for your video! Thank you sooooo much! I just finished sewing a pair of pants (my first pair) and put the zipper in only to have it slide right off the top and I couldn't get it back down so I saw your vid, undid the zipper and put the slide back on the bottom, sewed across to create a stop at the bottom, then pushed it up and under the seam to zip up again! Phew! Thanks again, you're a pants saver!

    I'm trying to turn a dress into a skirt and this just saved me a lot of heartache! I can sew... but not at the point where I could've resewn an invisible zipper into embroidered mesh. I didn't know it was as simple as sodering a new stop on top! Now I'll be able the keep the original zipper no problem!

    Hyrum,
    Fall is here and with it the renewed interest in camping and hiking trips, with many folks using sleeping bags. If you have the time, can you put together a video on both repair of those seldom used and occasionally stuck zippers, as well as maintenance suggestions which will prevent those enjoying nature a way to not be trapped in their personal cocoons!
    "Thank You" for taking the time to SHOW us the ways of your craft - the Wizards Bonds are now no longer a match for the wisdom you have shown! ^5

      @UCANZippersUSA  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      😂 I'm not sure I've got anything on the Wizards Bonds. Thanks for the request for a video on sleeping bags. What are some of the repairs that you've had to deal with? I've been stuck but it was just because the slider was caught in the fabric. Are there other ways you've encountered? Any images will be greatly appreciated too.

    Thank you so much for this video!! I had a brand new skirt, that I never got to wear, b/c the zipper was stuck, then I got it unstuck, but it detached from the other side, so I left it in my drawer for even more months, I was determined not to throw it away and thanks to you I didn't have to!!!!

    Thanks so much. Like many others before me this video saved the day. I was making a pair of slacks and cut off the excess zipper tape when attaching the waistband which meant there was not stop at the top of the zipper. When I went to close the zipper I pulled it all the way out and found myself in a real pickle! It did take patience but after several tries it worked. Thanks again.

    Took some perseverance as zipper was on garment and garment was fraying. I clipped and cleaned all the fabric I could and then I removed just a few teeth. Counter intuitive part for me... remember to pull "UP" on the pull and not just in the normal direction of a zipper, it works!! Thanks Hyram! You just saved the day on a fairly expensive dress. :)

    EASY FIX HERE:
    Had an invisible zip on which the top was cut off during an alteration. After that video I know to just melt a few zipper teeth to create a new stop, but I ended up watching this video, because I obviously didn't know to do that…
    What I did then was: remove a few teeth, as instructed (the tape didn't look pretty after that, but it didn't matter as we will see). Still didn't had a lot of room on top to work with and I don't have three hands, unfortunately. So I asked somebody for help: After I inserted the top of the tape into the zipper pull, I grabbed the top of the zipper tape left and right with pliers for a better grip, pulled it slightly apart, while the other person wiggled the zipper pull on and tadaa: worked. Magical!
    Thanks a lot for the help. The alteration my go on now...

    Thank you so much! I got lucky as well lol. I had finished a new pair of pants for myself but I made the mistake of snipping off the top stopper and when I went to put them on I panicked as I zipped the zipper right off 😅. But now I have it back on with new bottom and top stoppers and I'm so happy thank you again!

    This is great! I have a pair of shorts in which the slider came off on one side. I managed to somehow wiggle it back on but at the same time crunched a little of this separating bit inside the slider. I thought I'd have to have the zipper replaced but now I'm gonna get new slider and try fixing it again. This time properly 😉 Thanks a lot for the tutorial!

    this is such a helpful video and has saved me tons of times! my only complaint is the "all you have to do is use a soldering iron" part because why on EARTH would i just have soldering iron lying around. that assumption makes me STUPID mad. bold of you to assume we have soldering irons!!!!! i made a new stop with a little hot glue and then some very firm hand stitches and that works just fine for me

    • @LeticiaCuenca
      @LeticiaCuenca 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, thanks for this, I was going through the comments and thinking wait, all these people have soldering irons at home?! I didn’t even know what they are! Can you say what kind of hot glue you used? I have regular Elmer’s glue or carpenters glue, not sure what hot glue is. Thanks! P.S. Edited to ask, is the hot glue the one with glue cartridges used with a heat gun for crafting ?…

    • @MikiChi77
      @MikiChi77 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@LeticiaCuenca yes, i used a hot glue gun like the kind you use for crafting! i just got a generic pack of glue sticks (not like Elmer's, these are solid cylindrical sticks of glue that are to be inserted into a hot glue gun so it can melt down the sticks for use) probably at Joann's Fabric and Crafts, they would also have a hot glue gun itself. good luck with what you're fixing! :^)

    Thank you so much! My zipper unzipped although it was in a zipped position on a pair of dress pants and I didn't know how to fix it. I was messing around and ended up pulling one whole side of the zipper out like yours in this video. I was able to break the seal of the bottom of the zipper and just slide it back on both sides and pull. It zipped up with no trouble. How can I keep it from unzipping while zipped like it did originally thought? Squeeze it with pliers somehow? Why did my initial problem happen?

    My invisible zipper is only stuck on a little part of my dress 😭 it's not bc of anything stuck on the puller, when I see it closely it seems like either a few teeth is crooked or the sewing on the invisible zipper is crooked, causing the few teeth come of a little further away from the rest of the dress 😭 i don't want to return the dress as I need it ASAP, but I don't trust myself to replace the zipper. Is there any way else to fix the few teeth or should I replace it with a new zipper and go to a tailor?
