Hi thank you so much for this video. I'm an aged (72 years old) lady and I draw very amateurishly but was about to draw some whiskers on a cat drawing when I found your tutorial. Pens ordered, wish me luck x
Ive got a drawing i did at age 11 . Cheap coloured pencils & cheap paper , its framed in my mums bedroom - like the day i drew it. I think lightfastness - archival can be a gimmick ££££ . If you dont have the pic framed & in the sun FOR YEARS ‘ I think it will be fine
Your name becomes you, so graceful, im surprised this channel dont get way more visitors, maybe you should consider do more common tutorial search as lips or eye for the traffic, anyway im in love with you already
The jelly roll pen looks great! I’m concerned for commissions that it may yellow over time. Do you know if it is archival? Thank you so much for your lovely tutorials. I’m beginning to learn pet portraits and have a lot to learn! Very helpful! Jenn
That's a good question, I've heard different things but personally I've still got drawings I did years ago using it and it hasn't changed colour at all! I'm glad you found it helpful, thanks for your comment 🙌🏻❤
great video and drawing. I just tried the exact gelly roll pen, but somehow it doesnt feel as effective as the one in the video.. no matter how hard I try, theres barely any white color going onto the paper and it only smudges around the area. Any idea why? thanks!
This is strange.. which thickness are you using? They can be a bit inconsistent sometimes, I like to roll them out on a seperate piece of paper and even wet the nib if the ink flow isn't great. Did you manage to solve the issue in the end? :)
@@gracemurrayart i tried 8 and 10 (if those numbers on the pens stand for thickness), I just can't get any color onto the paper.. it might just be a skill issue haha. I'm resorting to leaving blank spaces and using eraser for the whiskers for now, but I'll try the pens again on some other paper sometime, and I'll also try wetting the nib a bit. Thanks a lot though!
