      Two neighbours of mine had a VW Passat (2008 model) many years ago, both neighbours had rusty door handle regions while my (as old) Ford S-Max was flawless, I wonder if the rust protection is as shitty as those days?

    Picked up a 2023 Tiguan SE trim about a month ago. So far, very pleased. Completely agree with all your points surrounding how it drives and handles. The big selling point for me was, as you mentioned, the ride and interior space. My only concern going forward is the reliability, will be very interested to see how well it holds up over the next few years. Great review as always!

      This May 2023, it will be 10 years to my Tiguan Sport. No major expenses so far, other than an oil change, batteries change once, filters, etc nothing big ticket. No complaints at all.

      I have owned 6 Tiguans. I buy Car shield diamond warranties for $99 a month and they have taken care of me well. 3 engines, transmission and oxogen sensors. I would not own a VW out of warranty.

    I have a 2020 Tiguan SE and I really like it a lot so far. That said, I prefer to drive it most of the time in the custom setting with Sport Steering and the normal setting otherwise.
    Just had two weekends of extensive driving (over 1,000 miles each) and the car was great

      I’m watching this because my Audi has a small dent and the insurance company wants to total it. Just beware of Audi When it comes to that. I’m 100% satisfied with the car it’s just very expensive to repair with parts and labor.

    Great review! In Canada we call the model you drove the Highline R. Of all the comments I read people are really stuck on the lack of horsepower. I owned the Golf GTI a few years back & that thing was a rocket. Do you think the horsepower in this Tiguan is lacking? The vehicle has so many options I like, I’m considering purchasing one.

    • @MeynMotorGroup
      @MeynMotorGroup  ปีที่แล้ว +5

      No I really don’t think the HP is lacking at all the thing with VW is on paper their HP and 0-60 numbers look low but in reality the vehicle feels quick and effortless around town. I’m satisfied with the power output and with 4 motion it puts the power down well

    I miss the old style of Tiguan. 2014 to 2017. Prior to 2014 there was issues with the timing belt guides until 2012 which when they fail they trash the engine. then in 2013 they changed and improved he timing chain guides but threw in the old timing chain guides into the container of new ones so the "cancer" goes into 2013. The style from those years look more European. They look like chevy suburbans now.

    I have a 2021 SEL and there's nothing fun driving it 😂 it actually almost killed me a few times with tremendous lag. The 2.0 lacks so much power it's ridiculous. Trying to turn off my block on a small incline, it laga hard. Sport just makes it overly sensitive and tries too hard. The center console is lacking. The armrest is so damn small, you need to be child sized. I will say it's the fast smoothest infotainment I've used. My 21 even works with hand gestures which is interesting .
