Broo these childhood consoles never disappoint. I feel like nowadays the newer consoles don't really have something "ahead of its time" like what the old consoles did.
I remember getting gifted the peace walker PSP and GTA vice city stories from a cousin who had 3 other different limited edition PSP 3000s. Lets just say he was the best cousin ever
Psp was way ahead of its time, as a kid I only had the DS but playing the psp and the gta games on my cousins psp was mind-blowing. About a year ago i picked up a ps vita and modded it and its a still great!
The hold button was actually helpful when listening to music or watching movies as the buttons were easily clickable so you could just pop in the psp in your pocket and be carefree about the buttons pressing inside
I have a psp 3000 monster hunter edition. Best psp model ever and I have some of the best jrpgs and horror games for it. Love it so much. Love being able to use the bigger batteries for it too.
This was literally my college gaming machine. Me and my classmates would always play local multiplayer with Tekken 6 or NBA 2K10. The loser of the match would always have to pass it to the next person. Other times we coop in Monster Hunter. Fun times.
This is my psp story that no one asked for- I was about 10 years old when I got my psp. I was always a nintendo kid so getting a psp was a huge change for me at that time. The only game I remember playing on it was vice city stories. I was stuck on that game! My neighbor was about 5 years older than me and he had a computer which he used to download music and movies on my psp. He downloaded a lot of rap music which I didn’t listen to and he also downloaded a South Park movie. I was always a good kid so watching that movie felt bad 🤣. Then one day I went to visit my cousin at his apartment and we were playing basketball, I had a large jacket on that day so I removed my jacket and placed my psp in it. I totally forgot about my jacket when we got done playing basketball, 30 mins later I rushed back to the basketball courts to get my jacket and my psp. I saw my jacket on the ground still so I got happy. When I picked up my jacket I noticed my psp was missing. Someone had stole it… it was sad that day lol. I never got one again.
You may not be into those kinds of games, but God of War Chains of Olympus and Ghost of Sparta were some phenomenal psp games. Really ambitious in scale for the platfrom yet they are just as good as there console counterparts.
I had a Gameboy advance back in 2009 and one day I invited one of my friends to come play at my house and he brought his PSP, I remember I was so amazed when I first saw it, it was just impossible for me to even think on something better than a gameboy advance, the screen felt really big and futuristic, I remember trying to play on it because it had too many butrons for me to handle, I was used to the two buttons of the gameboy lol, also, the resolution of the games, at that time I felt like playing on the most realistic videogame, we played freakout, it's a snowboarding game. And next year I got mine from a christmas gift, I had the PES 2009, Wall-E, lego batman and yugioh tag force. I still have it and it works like the first day, but now the display is a bit damaged and it sometimes can't read UMD, but it's alright because it's hacked and it got a 128gb memory filled with games.
I remembered getting it as a gift from my Uncle who was in Scotland, it was a bit of a headache as well because two different regions UK - PAL and Southeast Asia (Philippines) - NTSC are not interplayable in terms of games we had to "convert" the console itself and have games downloaded on memory/local storage 😂
When I was younger I never remember anyone ever having a psp or psvita, only Nintendo ds’. I mean everyone I knew who had a portable console had a Nintendo DS, I didn’t even know PlayStation made a hand held until years later. That’s why I was so surprised about how popular they were… maybe they just sold terribly in the UK who knows
Bro you could turn your psp up to off and then down to hold and it would turn off and when you switched it back on it would be exactly where you left it that's what I used it for
Recently fixed my psp screen and started collecting again as well as definitely not hacking my vita so it runs as a psp with modded games if needed. Love both of them even if the vita didn’t get much of a chance

Honestly bro! Now it's just about doing the bare minimum and getting AI to do everything
Well because innovation in tech platau now also its just our nostalga talking because people gets nostalgic about PS4 now
Nah fr. Consoles are dying out, all they offer is better processing and nothing that new.

Damn that's sad man! Yeah I think we've all got some awesome memories with the PSP. Nice to hear someone else's!

Never played them bro! But still cool to hear someone else's experience!

Man that's so cool! It really was cutting edge back then!
The psp was so good
Facts bro!

Oh wow. Yeah that does sound like a hassle! Such a good console though
10:02 I actually really enjoyed the music they had in Liberty City Stories
Ikr! So good!

Yeah I definitely noticed they were quite uncommon as well when I had mine
erm actually it was not the first hand held that Sony made 🤓☝
Oh oops. What was it?
@@BobbysBored PocketStation in 1999

Oh would it not just stay there anyway when turning it off?
