    I liked the idea of inverting the tall jar and then keeping a small plate on top. This will ensure water falls in the basin only. Thanks. Used this idea while setting up the fountain in my balcony. Thanks 👏👏👏

    If you wrap the pump in cheesecloth it helps to clean dirt and leaves from clogging up the pump. 👍🏻🇺🇸

    If you are worried about cracking the pot while drilling. With a new hole when you get the center all the way through finish the hole from the other side. When enlarging the hole drill about half way from each side. This will also lessen the chances of a blowout when you punch through.

    Your fountain is beautiful...I love the new green portion of it, but am wondering if it's going to be unstable with it being so tall. Have you considered filling the bottom with rocks to support it? Between the children and the dogs, it sounds like you're having challenges with fountains LOL!

    what was the purpose of the inverted bowl at the bottom. why not just put the talk blue piece in the saucer.

    • @BloomWhereYourePlanted
      @BloomWhereYourePlanted  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Good question, it is a place to put the pump & I made a little notch in the plastic so the pump cord could go through, without it the blue pot would sit on the cord. so it wouldn't sit flat. Hope that makes sense. It also helps the pot from falling over. When my dog drinks & knocks it sometimes it slides on the inverted round pot but doesn't fall over.

    The fountain looks great, and I bloody love that shade of blue, it's gorgeous. One thing about those mosquito "dunks" though, there's no doubt chemicals in that which are toxic as fuck, so no doubt it would poison or even kill the bees. Careful with stuff like that, companies don't give a shit as long as they get peoples' money...

    • @BloomWhereYourePlanted
      @BloomWhereYourePlanted  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks! Yes I think the bti in the dunks is organic but I hear you. I was worried about that too so I ended up going with a patio pond with some fish to eat the mosquitos. They are doing really well & it is fun watching them come up to eat & swim around! Win win for everyone!

    • @BloomWhereYourePlanted
      @BloomWhereYourePlanted  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I use a little work horse; Canon G7X. I love it! The only disadvantage is it cannot take an on board mic or any mic. So it picks up all the noise around it. That can be really challenging especially in the city! I didn't realize how much noise there is all around me. I have learned to work with it. Face mic, talk loud, stay close to camera, be aware of noises & work around them. Hearing all the noise around me is 2nd nature to me now! When I looked at cameras with mic attachments the price really jumps up! Also I put a little fuzzy piece over the mic to make a wind buff ;) Probs more than you wanted to know! Good luck! Dash

    Its a good idea, but I wouldn't construct anything in the garden if it's detrimental to any wild life. In this case the dog is eating bees. Better to remove the item and let the bees live their short lives.

      Hi Rob,
      They seem only to go to the top. Amazing how they know the safest place to go! Unfortunately my fountain didn't fair very well with the extreme temps in Texas this year! It got all cracked up! So I will be designing a new one this summer. I think I want to add one to my front yard garden also. That should be fun! Something cool to do in the heat of the Summer here in Dallas Texas. Do you have a fountain on your property? Where are you coming from?

    • @RobGraham048
      @RobGraham048 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@BloomWhereYourePlanted I utilized two buckets, one large bucket and a five gallon bucket. I cut the larger to about five inches deep, and put the five gallon in that. Placed rocks all around it, drilled two holes in the five gallon bucket just below the top line of the larger bucket, fitted the five gallon with a lid that has a spout on it. Filled it with water, put the lid on the spout and gravity did the rest.
