It's the water in the glue or paint that causes the bubbles because steam forms as it heats up. If you don't want bubbles you have to wait for it to dry before putting the tiles in the oven. Also, make sure the windows are all open when you do this because the fumes are very toxic and you can't smell them! I did some outdoors with a heat gun and it worked ok.
I love the air bubbles! I made some large pieces for a mobile using colored plastic glasses and I had loads of air bubbles that made the discs really look cool. Thanks for sharing.
These are beautiful ! TFS ! I must say for those complainers about your speech/grammar please pay no attention ,there are always negative people that have nothing better to do than criticize. Keep doing what you do🥰
This is stunning!! And I'm definitely going to make some of these for Christmas presents! Thank you so much for sharing freely on YT! I make videos and know all the work that goes into creating a video, so I sincerely appreciate you sharing !!
Love this so much. Thanks for taking the time to do the tutorial. It's a very creative way to repurpose those unwanted CD's. I'm kicking myself though coz I threw out about 100 last year - freebies from old computer magazines. They would have been perfect for this. It's strange how you put on yellow and white and it comes out greenish. They really look like glass xx
Very good idea, brilliant. You mentioned on one of your video's last week that you may do an online tutorial for journalling? I got myself some clear gesso, gessoed over some oil pastels, but when I tried outlining my drawings with the white pencil that you use ....it pulled the surface off the page. I gesso'd it last night so it had plenty of time to harden?
thank you :)...oh dear! well you found the only medium that the gesso doesn't work well over! it really doesnt like oil pastel especially if you try and draw on top, oil pastels don't seem to loose their oiliness when dry and the water based gesso doesn't like to adhere to it very well so when you "pull" over the top of it with a pencil it slides off....sometimes it does't work over neocolours if its really thick :/ hope it didn't ruin your painting too much.
Righty ho thankyou for the info. It's knowing the products (trial and error and lots of practice I guess). I liked the oil pastels, nice to blend together.
Oh my....I've been wanting to do Sigrid Soto's for ages, but didn't have any cd's...now you are doing this, and I still want to do them, but now I don't have an oven!! Boo hiss. This looks awesome. Must go badger my mum so she'll let me use hers.... ;-)
Really liked this: Question, How do you manage the paint for a more controlled effect? You described your paint as thick and sticky, What has been your experience please??
I want to do this but the fumes from the heat process are so bad....I guess you could put your toaster oven outdoors...but that air is already compromised. But, love this so much!!!
If you eliminate the word "um" from your vocabulary your vids would be shorter and more appealing. I can't get past three minutes. Be prepared, have a general idea what you will say and leave out superfluous words and actions. Just a suggestion.
I love this one. So many people strive for uniformity and perfection. I love a textured, organic feel so much better

Do you use your house oven or a toaster oven?
Either, I think I used a toaster oven

Oh you clever thing you! Love it Mitsi! Thanks for sharing! xo
thank you for watching :) they is pretty x
I really like these. If you don't have that hole maker, what else can you use? I have a hole puncher but I think it will crack.
Carol Centracchio you can heat up a metal needle or knitting needle and poke it through
Or even a metal awl will work. Just heat it up and it goes through CDs like butter.
I have used a drill on top of a piece of wood, sometimes they crack, but better than no hole
Love this video, very clear..thank for making and sharing ..love the slap dash comment..x
Really liked this: Question, How do you manage the paint for a more controlled effect? You described your paint as thick and sticky, What has been your experience please??
i think if you took your time to paint the discs and let the paint dry you will get a more controlled effect...i havent experimented that much ....

Which paint do U use?
hi...i just used cheap acrylic paint
Fun project
thank you :)
Really cool.
thank you
;)
i think acetone or nail polish remover will remove the film as well :)
Hun, you should get hospital scissors. No effort. No blisters x
Really pretty ❤️
thank you :)
I like the idea, but the music made hearing you very difficult!
sorry! :/ thank you for watching :)
Bubbles are created when you do not allow the paint to dry.
thank you...i thought that was the case! im too impatient to wait for it to dry!

Very sweet, but CDs is a plural and needs no possessive apostrophe!
thank you...noted..i struggle with spelling and gramma :/
