How To Make a Simple Codfish Hi-Low Rig

In this video I will show you how to make a simple Codfish Hi-Low rig that I like to use on the inshore pieces. You can use this exact rig offshore but I would beef it up a little with bigger Gamakatsu hooks and heavier mono or Fluro. If you have any suggestions for videos please leave in the comments section. Good video! Have you ever tried to use a longer loop for the bottom hook for this rig? I feel that a longer bottom loop with hook has a better hook ratio than the shorter ones, when the bottom is not very snagy.

I never heard that to be honest. I just use clam, jigs or even herring fillets.

Why did you leave the first hook empty, could i put another bait on it?

Yes you can use two grubs. I like one grub on top hook with clam and bottom hook just clam bait. Sometimes they might not want to hit on the grubs. So if you see the bites keep coming on just the bait then remove the grub on the top hook. And vice versa if they just want the grub.

The smallest I use is 4/0. I do use braid line with a mono leader

Absolutely just use smaller hooks and tip the top hook with a green gulp swimming mullet in the 4 inch

I almost agree with what you posted except if you paid attention to the video he states clearly he was using the red line to make it easier for us to see. to mee the loops were to small and the bottom loop was to close to the sinker.
