    Bruh you’re still breaking in. I’m at 250,000 miles and I just replaced stock clutch and suspension. I live on a dirt road and this car is a tank, everything works. Once you get to high miles just spend the $5k to drop a new engine in plus other parts (as they break) and you get a “new” car for super cheep every half million miles. This car is so fun to drive it’s worth it to keep it alive.

      I'm the original owner of an 05. I have been beating the crap out of mine for 16 years, and am still not done with it.
      176,000 miles, stage 2 exedy clutch, chromolly flywheel, DC intake, magnaflow hiflow cat, partially modified catback, cheap racing springs(haven't purchased those coilovers i want yet), Tanabe strut braces, eBay short throw shift kit, a bunch of carbon fiber bs, a few alignments, a whole bunch of tires....but it has been a reliable platform for over a decade and a half, and I only kinda want to get rid of it. There's just so many possibilities with swaps because it was k powered.

    you chose wisely. I have a black 05' with 108k I got for $2000 and its a dream come true. So much fun to drive. Don't have to worry about car thieves at all with the rally shifter. The whole speed thing is like lowering your ride. Its cool having a 0-60 in 5 seconds until you get a ticket cuz speed limits are 45 city 55 highway and you've hit 70 in 3rd gear.....or you lower your ride and tear off your front bumber trying to pull out of your driveway. this car is the best of both worlds. enough zip to pass up a semi and quiet enough inside to enjoy your music.
    this car is a steal and I don't see them on the road which makes me feel even more spiffy. It will run for 250,000 miles with ease if I want to drive it that long. Very happy with mine. nice vid.

I've moved twice with this car and it can hold more boxes w the seats down than my old Tacoma. I recently bought a 02 EP3 with 112k miles for $2.7k it came with a AEM CAI which I didn't need, but it made it sounds great. I learned how to drive stick with this car and took it wherever I go. I once took it from LA to SF and no problems.
    I also went to a car meet and its great to see that I was the only EP3 there to appreciate. I only have this car for a year now. My EP3 is going to be one of the best cars I ever owned (besides my 92 Acura Legend)
    I got thumbs up from another EP3 driver as well as a 05 Mustang GT a few weeks ago (they actually just like the anime/weeb stickers I have been putting on it), so this video made my day. Another thing I hear about these EP3s is that the UK folks loves these cars. Yeah, the engine is not "true vtec" from our UK counterparts, but once you drive it you will not be disappointed. It's i-VTEC for crikes sake.
    Thanks! This made me believe there's hope for these cars and believe that the EP3 community still exists.

      Thank you for the great comment! Yeah its a rough world out there for Honda people, let alone Ep3 drivers. Ive gotten thumbs up from alot of people, mostly in JAPANESE cars but its still cool to see others appreciating this car

      Currently, h&r springs with truhart shocks, full Polly urethane bushings, recently I replaced oem motor mounts accompanied with polyurethane inserts. The ride is greatly improved with no rub at all on the stock wheels and tire size. Occasionally I'll scrape but I found that it's only on my mud flaps so no damage.

    I bought an 02 Civic Si recently and my impression of the car is it’s a money pit that’s hard to work on. Having a new ignition switch module replacement and 2 new programmed keys cost me $1600 - yes, without an ECU change you have to go to the dealer. From the moment I had to pay that repair bill I hated the car in particular and Honda in general.

    I’ve had my black ‘04 for about 5 years now with 196000 miles and I’ve just recently learned its called the ep3. Its like I’ve unlocked a secret world where I can finally find videos about my car without having to sift through every other si that comes up when you search “Honda civic si 2004”. A friend told me I should put a turbo in mine but as far as I know all of it is stock so I think I’m gonna work on suspension and tires/brakes first.
    Any suggestions for what to get for my ep3? Specific brands that is. I’m not looking to drag, just have more fun driving. Maybe I’d take it to a track down the road but I’m not trying to gut it or anything lol

    Just hit 220k on my blue 03 SiR, it is 100% stock exept the mugen wing i installed on it since i always hated the stock one that is sooooo small lol. I only take it out when its warm and dry outside during summer months. Those models are getting harder to find here in Canada.

    How can you buy a used car without immediately chanding oil and fluids?

    • @chrisl4661
      @chrisl4661 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      would make me so nervous i got mine and immediately did fluids and even valve adjustment maybe im crazy on the second part but the first is cheap peace of mind.

    Guys i recently came up on an ad for a 2003 honda civic si hatchback ... the car is in super mint condition only 115000 driven and it looks amazing overall.. the owner is asking for 5900 bucks.. is that a fair price? I really dont want to let that car slip away

    My brother has an Ep3 so much fun compared to my fg2. Just slower but still enjoyable

    • @meanpeak1857
      @meanpeak1857  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yep from CT. Yeah the EP3 isnt even that bad imo. Tuning it in July which should make it comparable to a stock FG2

      @Jxvierrr 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Mean Peak what parts do you have ? I randomly came across this video, havent got the chance to watch others. Maybe we can get a run in but mine isnt stock lol

    • @meanpeak1857
      @meanpeak1857  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Jxvierrr Right now its got DC race headers, tanabe midpipe and a spec D muffler. Upgraded brakes, suspension. Doing intake and tune in the next few weeks. Power is currently up from stock as is right now. Once tuned be interesting to see how it keeps up

    • @Jxvierrr
      @Jxvierrr 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Mean Peak cold air or short ram ? Should be a good run 🙂 considering my brothers car pulls ahead for a few seconds then mine just pulls off

    • @meanpeak1857
      @meanpeak1857  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Jxvierrr Short ram sadly (i daily it, dont want my engine to flood) still should be making 170 whp. Oh i can see that, the ep3 has a good amount of torque at 3k but once your vtec kicks in its over haha

      Mean Peak I commented on another vid of yours, i have a chance to own one, I just Dk if I should trade my 94 gsr four door for it. 🤔🤔

    • @meanpeak1857
      @meanpeak1857  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Jose Munoz hmm hard trade. The Ep3 is a cool platform but you do need to accept the fact its an egg and isnt the fastest stock. It does have really good handling lowered a little and with sticker/wider tires. Im so back and forth on my EP3 its crazy but a week without driving it makes me miss it so much

    • @JoseMunoz-eu3ck
      @JoseMunoz-eu3ck 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Mean Peak well the only reason I would want to trade is just for a daily commute to work. I bought my fa5 in March of this year and since then I have already put more than 4k miles on it. So the lack of power means literally nothing to me lol and if I do end up going with it, I’ll be owning a 7th, 8th, and a 9th gen si. 🤙🏽🤙🏽
      Also I like that you say they are kinda rare, as I don’t see many here in Oklahoma.
