I have one of these. Bought it August, 2003 and it's got only 107,000 miles on it. It runs beautifully. And because it's always been parked inside .. home garage and work parking garage .. the paint and vinyl look spectacular. It's been extremely reliable. Recently, I toyed with the idea of getting a new car, but when i saw how little I would get for my Civic SI, I decided to keep it.
@ACMallet Awesome story! These things must have been really good in their day. 107,000 miles is still very low! If you like the car, keep it. The Ep3 offers a much different feel than the modern stuff.
If it's rust free and in decent condition, that's a good price! These take miles ok, but even if you blow an engine, rebuilds are easy, and swaps are inexpensive. Relatively speaking. But it's a Honda, it will probably be fine.
my first car was a ep3 2005, i love it, but parts (pretty much accessories) were so freaking expensive and what i extremely hate was the Transmission especiales 5th gear, i was running 65miles and rpms were flying at all moment, i would buy rsx for sure rather than ep3 (cabin noise was horrible too even with 16 rims)
@@M-t3ch For doing car reviews . I get that TH-cam is also for the amateur kinda backyard videos , but this is pushing it ... I could tell the minute you got on about the stereo , newsflash no factory car comes with a giant sub woofer that is kinda please bass heads ... and then under the hood doing mods that pretty much just ,make the car loud ... its for teenagers .
@davidfriend1919 You are welcome to your opinion! The mods were done by the previous owner before my friend owned it IIRC. Most of these have subwoofers and cheap air intakes by this point, finding a remotely clean one is near impossible. I understand the criticism, but I never went into the specifics of the aftermarket parts. Nor did I put merit on them in terms of how I perceived the driving experience of the car 🙂

99% of the people I grew up with couldn't have afforded anything in the ten k price range as a first car.
4k is a steal for that car!!!!!
@@theccwdad I know! He did well on it.

Get it derailed and wrapped and get the underbody brushed and fluid filmed with cavity wax and it will last another 21 years
sounds like me .
Also reviewing a 21 year old car with stock suspension saying its not supple😂
this video makes me appreciate my ep3 more!
Glad to hear it! They are fun cars.
I love how this car looks but the that shifter position in my opinion is disgustingly horrific
@@Habibi618 Lmao. I liked it. It's closer to your hands than a normal shifter.
@ definitely I just don’t like how it looks with the aesthetic of the interior, reminds me of a spaceship
@@Habibi618 Most people agree with you.
I FOUND ONE WITH NO ISSUES OR CHECK ENGINE LIGHTS WITH 170,OOO MILES FOR 2K. IS IT WORTH IT?
That's cheap! If it's not super rusty or beat, go for it.
love me some VTEC, the 8th gen i'd argue is just a bit more fun since you get an 8300 RPM redline, at the cost of requiring premium gas
I would have to drive one. They do look like a lot of fun too!
@@M-t3ch i have one if you're ever near SW Ohio ;)

I have a 2003 honda Civic si for sale in so cal!
Love it!
Location on the market for one.
Did the owner took care of the rear wheel arches
He hasn't messed with them yet, but they are pretty clean as is!
I found one for 3500 with 200,000 miles. Is it worth it?

Hot air ijtake still helps regardless

100%, it's a fun and practical car. But it lacks in some areas. The highway rpm is very classic Honda 😂
these are very slow a 1.6 d16 ep2 civic sport would be quicker
Barely enough power to go around a car lol
It's plenty for the kind of car that it is lol.
@@M-t3ch not really lol
@@Willis-de5hxI mean they’re plenty fun to drive plus it’s a Honda so you can just make it faster if you want.
You don’t get these cars for power
you guys are not qualified ,.... sorry
