This is my update from almost a month ago and it WORKS GREAT EVERY TIME. This is an accidental genius discovery and it's almost as good as the world being discovered as not being flat but ROUND. Can't thank this man enough for sharing. Thank you sir.
So my boyfriend came across your video today and when he picked me up from work I noticed the lights was on and the windows were rolled up and when I stepped into the car well holy crap it was cold . I cannot believe it worked. We are so ever grateful. This is totally amazing!!! Thanks a million from San Antonio Texas where it is hotter than hell.
Dude you are lifesaver. My daughters car just started doing this and I could not find a for sure fix anywhere online until I found this video. I was about to shell God knows how much time and money to try to fix this. This needs to go viral so Ford will be forced to deal with this. Thank you sincerely!
Hey, man. I stumbled up on this video yesterday evening. I had been battling this same issue with my 2012 Fusion for quite a while. I replaced the blend door actuator, and was considering replacing either the control panel or the temperature sensor. Then I tried this trick, and it really works. It really is sad that Ford won't issue a recall on this. They would have a hug backlog of vehicles to replace computers in. Words cannot express how grateful I am for this video. Keep up the good work.
Just stumbled across this. It worked. I'm speechless. Currently 77deg, 68% humidity. I'm going to try it tomorrow when we hit 84deg in broad daylight just to be certain. Starting the car up with the fog lights on had me running full cold, turned them off and within 1 minute it was blowing hot air. Turned them back on, turned off A/C, turned A/C back on and cycled temp knob from full cold, to full hot, to full cold and BAM full cold A/C again. Hats off to you on this find regardless of whether or not it was an accident! (2010 Ford Fusion Sport)
Bless your soul!! I live in south Texas and it’s SO hot I’ve been having this issue with my car for the longest and no one could help me! I can’t believe this actually worked haha but I’m so grateful!
Just bought a 2012 Ford Fusion. On the way home AC did exactly this. Went hot after about 20 mins. When I got home I found this video. This does work. Thank you!
This is crazy. I was about to take my car to the shop before I ran across this video. It really worked for me. I turned on the ac and my head lights and the ac stayed on. Thanks my man. U are a God sent.
You are a genius my friend! With three young grandchildren, I was getting ready to give up! We have tried lots of things to fix it but this WORKED! I’m so grateful! Many blessings to you!!!
Have a 2010 and been burning up all summer .. racking my brain and this actually worked !!!! Huge Thank You !! And also majorly confused as to why it worked ...
Like everyone else, my car would blow cold air and suddenly stop. Ford wanted to charge $1,200 to install a new AC control module. Found this video, tried it out and it worked! Thank you!
I endured 2 long south Georgia summers with no air - until now! I was scheduled to drop my car at the dealer and prepared to write a huge check after regular mechanic I use couldn't figure it out. My A/C would once in a while blow cold until I got to the end of the driveway, sometimes until it would blow cold for most of a day, sometimes at night, sometimes when it was raining - temperature really didn't seem to effect it. After turning on the fog lights it is now blowing cold! I thought I would have to do this every time I got in the car but after doing this for a day or two I haven't had to do it at all - it's still blowing cold!! It's crazy but it works! Thank You!!
This video just blew my mind! I try to DIY everything and I have been looking through TH-cam for an hour. I came across your video and for some reason as soon as I started listening to you I knew you had a fix. I wnet out to my car and tried it.... holy shit. Cold air! Thank you from Windsor, Ontario!
You, sir, are genius. Also have a 2010 Fusion and have had the car into the dealership a couple of times for this problem and they say they can't recreate it so can't do anything about it. I had researched the three likely components and was about to begin replacing them one at a time when I found your video. I turn on the fog lights when the AC begins to blow hot and bingo -- cold air. It has to be an input to the computer that goes low for some reason and is tied into the fog lamp circuit. Totally ridiculous of Ford to not remedy this. Thanks a lot for posting this.
What the heck, it worked! I have a 2011 Fusion S without fog lights. It still works with only the head lights on. You can turn on the lights before you start the engine and it will blow cold immediately. Or if your motoring down the road and turn on the lights it will start blowing cold in a few seconds. If you turn the lights off it will start blowing hot in a few seconds. Darnedest thing I’ve ever seen! Thanks!

Thank you so much for this! I've been losing my mind in the FL heat and this is the only thing that worked! I've shared this with my reddit group also. So many people having this problem spending $$$ with no fix.
Totally makes sense now why in morning when leaving work, AC was cold cause I kept lights on auto but the sun would be rising on commute home and auto lights would go out and so would AC. Lights on/AC on. But only when it was upper 80/90 degree weather. AC works fine below 80. Thanks so much!
That is so funny man that is exactly how mine is. In the morning it works, but when it is super hot it will work for a few secs ( enough to tease u ) then blow HOT air. So frustrating.
Thank you so much OMG you saved me $1000 it actually did fix the issue, I'm also residing in Florida and for months and the AC only worked when it rains or at night but I'm so excited 😁 wow so simple and complexed thank you again...
Wow! This actually works. In Tennessee, temp is about 92. I just started the car. turned the air on. Worked for a few minutes then went hot. I have a 2010 fusion and have been having a/c problems as well. Got a new compressor, pressure switch, PCM, and still no air. I'm going to have to try this out when I get off work later. My evap temp sensor and everything is showing good, but my pressure sensor is not showing what the gauges are showing.
@@sushruthh1541 I did exactly as was demonstrated and it resolved immediately. It gets hot as hell here in Texas and after doing this for a day I didn't have the issue anymore.
Works for me i bet you have the problem i have how to fix is you have to get a new panel for your car like the switches but when you go to coke go max cold then go 2 clicks up and it should work. Took mine to ford and they told me that only reason fog lights work is cause it’s low voltage and that’s why it works. When you don’t have them on they get to much voltage and some plastic piece might be broken inside of the ac switch hope this helps👍
I knew i had fog lights, i just didnt know how to turn them on. So that was helpful. Theres got to be something really wrong in the manufacturing of this vehicle when the solution to a hot ac is "turn on your fog lights"
2012 Ford Fusion here. I am gonna try this on my way home from work. I know this question may sound silly...but should you turn the headlight and fog lights on first and then then the A/C or A/C and then the lights...or does it not matter which order?? I hope this works...been dealing with this issue for 2 years and no shop can fix it!
I got cold air after getting an 0-ring replaced, then after about a month, on a hot day, the A/C did not blow cold enough. On a cool day it worked perfectly. I hope this issue gets fixed. I paid 150 bucks to get one freaking o-ring replaced and system charged. Mine is a 2010 2.5L and I will probably drive it without A/C until I figure who will not charge a king's ransom to fix. Peace. Thanks for the tips dude. Much appreciated.

Next day when that method was reluctant to work, I turned fan to max, as a ford service mgr had heard, and then backed off one notch and it worked also. Currently working with lights off. Crazy. Had to jump with small halo yesterday when wifey lefts lights on.
Omg it works! A freaking saint! 2012 Fusion, I’ve always had the automatic light. I spent right under 2000 for the sensor to be replaced at the dealership!
dang man i was just about to take mine to the dealership. Took it to a couple of repair shops and spent a fortune but they had no answer. Such B.S. that Ford hasn t done something about this. Looks like there is a lot of people experiencing this.
This worked on my 2011 Ford Fusion. After the initial both lights on start up the AC came on. After that AC startup returned to normal function. I did not have to repeat the fix the next time the AC was turned on.
Thanks brotha.i will try it tomorrow.i am in Florida too.and today issss hoooot....only half way through nmy commute the AC came on.thank you so much for the tip.
Same with my 2010 Fusion. Have to turn on the headlights when I start the car and leave them on. BTW the compressor is not cycling, the blend door is going to full HOT on its own. I think it is a calibration issue with the temperature control knob and loading the system with the lights presents a lower voltage to the control. Going to look in to a 12volt regulator for the climate control module.
I have one in the shop now and don’t put it on max ac and cold all the way for some reason the blend door moves and is not registered as so. The ac is still on the lines are cold but the blend door is on full hot. You can also shut the ac off for a few and turn back on. But if you have full air pressure and recirculation for whatever reason it triggers the blend door.
I worked at Ford and they had a bulletin for this since 2013, all you have to do is update the DIM module to update 98.3. Basically the blend doors are not actuating to the setting that is demanded from the interface module. Instead of turning on your headlights, turn your temperature knob all the way cold, then go up two clicks.
I wonder if this works on a 2013 & up? The dealer has mine for the THIRD time as I type this and haven't been able to fix it. The car thinks the outside temperature is -39 degrees. They've replaced an ambient temps sensor, and even a PCM so far.
@Mind Blown 10 yrs here with 183000. Worked for me too. When it didn’t, I maxed out fan speed and back up off one notch(down to 3) and this worked also. Crazy
Thanks so much, ford mechanic said it is an issue with the Hvac module panel Assy. Was going to run me 950. I said thanks but no thanks. Was going to replace the unit myself until I found this fix. AC works great now. Here's hoping this keeps working for a while.
Great video. I bought a used 2012 Fusion in April and this just happened for the first time yesterday. After I turned off the ac for ahile and then turned it back on it worked, for awhile then back to hot. Question for you...lf this is my problem and the air is hot, will turning on the lights/fog lights make it start working immediately, or is that something I need to do right away?
It sometimes takes a minute but it should start working shortly after . You might have to start the lights before you start the car but in general it should work quick .also you can try moving the temp lever slow from hot to cold notch by notch and that will engage the blend door also .if you have fog lights make sure they are also on .
Where were your internals ? I seem to have an issue trying to put the new one on idk if the old internals are in the plug or not I’ve tried taking them out but can’t
Wow. I am... DUMBFOUNDED! I can't believe, not only that this worked, but how simple it is! I've been dealing with this issue, in California heat, for two years! You're a life saver.
How tf is this really supposed to work. Turning on headlights will fix your air conditioner?? Let me tell you IT FUCKING REALLY WORKED WTF! I don’t even have headlights on the 2012 se model but when I turned the headlights on and pulled the switch out. I heard a click and it fucking worked WTF . Wish I could thank you more for this. Had to jump with small halo yesterday when wifey lefts lights on.
Wow man this worked so well!!!! Now my heat and ac both work
Thank u so much! I have been riding in a hot car for months now.
Thanks for sharing, it got the AC on my 2010 Fusion back to working!
Mine too! I’m forever grateful! I got three grandchildren to carry around!
Mastermind. Way to go bruh! good vid.
Awesome! Thank you!!! Yes my husbands 2012 Fusion doing it and my 2013 Escape but my Escape was so simple! Fusion is a nightmare!!!
Hei.next day I tried it.it works Amazingly well.Thank God.i have a again.thanks for the 1000$ tip brother.
THANK YOU! I was skeptical, but this actually worked. You saved me a ton of time and money and I'm very grateful!
I don't know why but it works, you are my hero.
Will this help if the ac stopped on its own ? No air blowing out even with module still on
I have one in the shop now and don’t put it on max ac and cold all the way for some reason the blend door moves and is not registered as so. The ac is still on the lines are cold but the blend door is on full hot. You can also shut the ac off for a few and turn back on. But if you have full air pressure and recirculation for whatever reason it triggers the blend door.
Dude you really are the mannnnnn
It worked dude I can't believe it
Somebody tag Ford and tell them to fix their shit!!!! Thanks so much for this video
Thank you so much for this video you saved me hundreds of dollars! This actually worked!
Unbelievable. I almost order a new control unit and then I ran into this video. Wow
I did it using Forscan, a Ford diagnostics software@@AtoZandba
I wonder if this works on a 2013 & up? The dealer has mine for the THIRD time as I type this and haven't been able to fix it. The car thinks the outside temperature is -39 degrees. They've replaced an ambient temps sensor, and even a PCM so far.
Omg you’re right!!!! My ac works now 😭🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
HOLY MOLY it worked!!!! Thank you so much. Is there a more permanent fix?
@Mind Blown 10 yrs here with 183000. Worked for me too. When it didn’t, I maxed out fan speed and back up off one notch(down to 3) and this worked also. Crazy
Holy crap....cant believe that worked!
I didn't have bolts under the rubber mats? How do I get the compartment off?
Dude, you are a miracle!
Fiufffff.. This Man saved my ass.. car cooling amaizingly simply because i turn my fog lights on.. Thanks bro.
Thanks so much, ford mechanic said it is an issue with the Hvac module panel Assy. Was going to run me 950. I said thanks but no thanks. Was going to replace the unit myself until I found this fix. AC works great now. Here's hoping this keeps working for a while.
Mines 2014 ford fusion it blows really nice and cold for about 30 mins then very hot and What if i dont have fog lights ??
WOW! It really worked, thank you so much.
Bro worked like a charm your a goat
I have a Hyundai and didn't get cold air during the day but got it tonight. The difference may have been the headlights that were turned on. Wow.
Appreciate the quick trick lol it actually worked
It does work, so now all the Ford Fusions on the road for this gen will have lights on during hot temps lol
Wow! TYVM brother. That's amazing.
Dude your the best... I million likes
Thx, I will try this on my way home...hopefully it works for the defroster too, that just started blowing warm air this morning :/
Weird!! Thanks, it worked 💪
Where were your internals ? I seem to have an issue trying to put the new one on idk if the old internals are in the plug or not I’ve tried taking them out but can’t
My daughters 2011 fusion now has the AC option... Thank u
Wow. I am... DUMBFOUNDED! I can't believe, not only that this worked, but how simple it is! I've been dealing with this issue, in California heat, for two years! You're a life saver.
Worked immediately, thank you 🙏🏾
No way! This actually worked. Wow.
Holy crap ur a genius!!!!!!
Just wow
