  • Second of two parts, single handed sailing from Largs Yacht Haven to the Isle of Gigha, Inner Hebrides, West Coast of Scotland.
In this episode we sail from Campbeltown, past Sanda Island, and around the Mull of Kintyre to the Isle of Gigha.
I have been wanting to get out of the Clyde and around the Mull of Kintyre, to the Isle of Gigha for some time and finally got some great conditions for the trip.
    Thanks for watching 😊

Have been going through your vids, thanks for posting…My boy stays in Largs and I’ve been to the Marina a couple of times.toying with the idea that I might want to give sailing a try but have zero experience. Thanks again for posting… I look forward to seeing what you get upto this year🙏

Great job with the filming. I really enjoy watching your single handing of Sula. I sail out of Largs also, mostly singlehanded. Would enjoy meeting up sometime and maybe sailing tandem at some point.

Thank you for putting the effort in, it really shows in the filming. Look forward to seeing you on the water, I’ve moved my yacht up to Troon and will catch up with you and pick your brains on the area, dinner and a pint at Scott’s my treat.

Thank you for sharing and loved the video, Really great production and cinematography may I say demonstrates wonderfully how beautiful sailing Scotland actually is
Brought back great memories for me from 27 years ago when I made that exact same trip with the only difference we stopped at Sanda and celebrated my 30th birthday by the time we got to Gigha
I dream of doing this route again

Yet another great video and thank you Murray. You really have your boat set-up tremendously well for solo sailing. looks like you are running a single-line reefing system? I might be wrong, but if you are, do you find this advantageous for singled handed as opposed to the traditional slab system? Wanting to learn. You have also proved a point....who needs an engine on the tender!! Hahaha.
    All the best
    Justin

thanks Justin, Sula is set up with a slab system at present that works well for me. 😊

The topping lift should be tight while hoisting the main and slackened off when hauling in the mainsheet!!!
Was in gigha again this season on way back to the Clyde after a single handed as far north as pierowall on westray Orkney. Lovely video and drone footage.👍

Very nicely put together, Murray. Fab boat in fab locations. Like the "SOS SOS MAYDAY MAYDAY" in morse code during your opening scenes ... let's hope you never have to actually broadcast that!

thanks 😊and I hadn't actually noticed the morse code as it was part of the music, but I noticed it now 👍
