I love them honestly. He's so immensely talented, as is Billie obviously, but out of the two he doesn't get sufficient credit for his mastery. He could be making so much more if he worked with other artists as well but he's dedicated and knows the artistry and magic he has with his sister. Beautiful.

this is insane. their music is highly produced and yet it's entirely home-brewed, using available sounds and equipment, and no auto-tune. just mind blowing.
that thought just speaks to finneas' production skills and Billie's harmonics in my opinion. They are honest to god musical geniuses that play off each other perfectly.
Their songs are not mixed and mastered by finneas. Professional engineers did that. But he is a very good producer!

But they don't use it because they think the singers can't sing, they use it because it just sounds better afterwards. I'm a music producer myself and it's just part of the normal workflow for a pop song.

have you heard stuff other than bad guy? cause if you think her style is "pop" you should give it a try, it's very soft relaxing music most of it...I often listen to it when running long distances because it keeps me very calm. Not saying people gotta like it, but I definitely assumed her music was very different to what it is before i listened to a full album...the hits don't really represent her style that well

Bernard Finucane Yes, and it has been for some time now. Indie artists now days have the ability to make their own music at home for not much money, and self-release everything. In fact, many pro mixers, producers, etc. are even shifting to home studios because of this. The old model of paying tens of thousands of dollars for studio time is basically on the verge of obsolete, so studio owners have to be creative and have more to offer now if they’re gonna her work.
My band HUE(s) produces and records all of our stuff in a garage home studio. Dumped a bit of money into sound treatment, good monitors, good preamps, etc...
We’re totally self-sufficient.
The only thing record labels and studios have now that indie artists don’t, is contacts. But that’s changing too.

i love it when you watch videos about artists and you can tell what happens to them on a psychological level when they get famous, make music, or hangout with siblings. three entirely different characteristics that combine to form one incredible person, then the process of one person can bring together many more talented as heck people. @@hux2000 - Totally. Not only did they produce it, they wrote all of it as well. They each bring something to the table. Neither of them would be complete without the other one. They are such a great team. You can tell by the terms she uses, and the references she uses that Billie knows her shit. She's so far from a teenage girl with a superstar producer. I've been a working drummer for 40 years, and i'm massively impressed by these 2.

Yes! I credit a lot of Billie’s success not only to Billie herself but to Finneas. His role has been so understated. He literally wrote the hit that put her on the map (Ocean Eyes) and contributes a lot to her other songs. He and Billie are such a good combo.
