Thank you for uploading this - I like the soothing voice and the absence of any sense if the personal in the words of Sri Aurobindo is a releif in this hyper-personal psuedo-reality most of us are stuck in for most of the time. That's why I came to Sri Aurobindo which reads like a glass of water to me.
Something very interesting. Reading from the writings of Sri Aurobindo needs a lot of concentration and I often struggle due to the inability to maintain concentration for an extended period of time. It seems hearing the same in this nice and soothing voice for an extended period is less difficult as I do not need to keep my eyes glued to the writings. Thank you for this channel.
We are glad that our efforts can bring Sri Aurobindo's wisdom to you in a way that you can take in. Capability to see the vision grows as familiarity and internalization of the vision increases. Stay in proximity to the source, however is right for you. Thank you for your comment.
A very useful n uplifting effort in helping us learn principles of the purpose yoga of Sri Aurobindo. A pleasant voice reading with understanding aids concentration n absorption of ideas easily. Thank u so much and may u achieve all ends for spiritual evolution -- yours n ours!
Your recordings are very helpful. I do not get much time to read lately, but coming across this channel and these recordings still keep me attuned to the path & practice. Please keep recording more such texts. Which book do you read this texts from?
The texts are curated from many places, according to the theme. I arrange them into an order that flows for each video. So it depends on the video. I believe for this one, most of the quotes came from the Letters on Yoga. That's often the case, since they are so practical and that's my goal with these videos, to help our focus and practice. I'm truly glad you find them helpful! Thanks for listening and letting me know.
It has been said that there is a kind of peace that is not of this world. ²How is it recognized? ³How is it found? ⁴And being found, how can it be retained? ⁵Let us consider each of these questions separately, for each reflects a different step along the way. First, how can the peace of God be recognized? ²God’s peace is recognized at first by just one thing; in every way it is totally unlike all previous experiences. ³It calls to mind nothing that went before. ⁴It brings with it no past associations. ⁵It is a new thing entirely. ⁶There is a contrast, yes, between this thing and all the past. ⁷But strangely, it is not a contrast of true differences. ⁸The past just slips away, and in its place is everlasting quiet. ⁹Only that. ¹⁰The contrast first perceived has merely gone. ¹¹Quiet has reached to cover everything. How is this quiet found? ²No one can fail to find it who but seeks out its conditions. ³God’s peace can never come where anger is, for anger must deny that peace exists. ⁴Who sees anger as justified in any way or any circumstance proclaims that peace is meaningless, and must believe that it cannot exist. ⁵In this condition, peace cannot be found. ⁶Therefore, forgiveness is the necessary condition for finding the peace of God. ⁷More than this, given forgiveness there _must_ be peace. ⁸For what except attack will lead to war? ⁹And what but peace is opposite to war? ¹⁰Here the initial contrast stands out clear and apparent. ¹¹Yet when peace is found, the war is meaningless. ¹²And it is conflict now that is perceived as nonexistent and unreal. How is the peace of God retained, once it is found? ²Returning anger, in whatever form, will drop the heavy curtain once again, and the belief that peace cannot exist will certainly return. ³War is again accepted as the one reality. ⁴Now must you once again lay down your sword, although you do not recognize that you have picked it up again. ⁵But you will learn, as you remember even faintly now what happiness was yours without it, that you must have taken it again as your defense. ⁶Stop for a moment now and think of this: Is conflict what you want, or is God’s peace the better choice? ⁷Which gives you more? ⁸A tranquil mind is not a little gift. Pl check and correct the sentences. Take care to be passive only to the truth and to the touch of the Divine Shakti. If you are passive to suggestions of adverse forces……. .
I assure you, the sentences I read from Sri Aurobindo are completely unaltered 🙏 Anyone who searches for them online will easily verify this. For my videos, I merely put them into an order which I think can be helpful. This practice of reordering quotations for the sake of spiritual learning and reflection is normal among followers of the Integral Yoga (see the numerous anthologies and collections of Aurobindo and the Mother's words). I do not believe it is the sign of any adverse force. Thank you 🙏

This video & channel does not endorse following a specific guru or joining any ashram. I don't believe Aurobindo or the Mother ever campaigned for people to join them either. The dangers you warn against in your message are real, though, and anyone on the spiritual path must be discerning. May we all carry through on the truth.
I spent a lot of time in Pondy for many reasons. I wonder what Sri Aurobindo did all day, other than sit and write his intellectual analyses. He didn't pay rent, work for his life, wash his clothes, cook etc..... like everyone else. He married a child of 14 as he wanted a 'wife'. While other young girls enjoyed fashion, friends, dreaming of the future, she was alone and received a few letters from her 'husband' until she died at 32. Everyone praises this man's words but no one considers his cruelty and disregard for this poor child. Actions are what define us - not words from the intellect.
Maybe she was a spiritually advanced child he 'married' not for sexual intercourse but so he could help her progress along the path. Not all 14 yr olds are into fashion etc....in the West perhaps, but not in East at least. The 'modern' mind is incapable of perceiving anything out of the physical context & sees everything through the lens of prejudice.
You apparently have no idea of what Sri Aurobindo's all about. First of all, when you mention his 'intellectual analyses' you are ignorant of the fact that he was talking about accessing knowledge that's beyond the intellect. If he did marry a fourteen year old are you suggesting that he married her to satiate his physical desires? Have you considered that it could've been bcoz he saw her as an advanced spiritual soul & he perhaps wanted to guide her in his journey along with her? There have been cases in India of sages having spiritual consorts, & this is beyond the understanding of the western mind for which a relationship has become synonymous with the physical plane! And about not having done any 'work', are you aware he was a great freedom fighter who was incarcerated by the British, & used his harsh prison conditions to advance along the spiritual path? This is not the case of the classic pedophile priest being rewarded with a luxurious lifestlyle, but that of a spiritually advanced being doing the most noble work of guiding people along the spiritual path who was provided with someone to cook for him & wash his clothes so he could carry on his noble work without being preoccupied with household chores.
One day all Knowledge and Truth will grow within me. ❤
Quietude = Being aware of being aware.
