    That’s hardly a high squat. Why go further than you need to get the job done?
    Also if you do Q&As, when is the next? I’ve got a problem (always have) where my quad tendons are very prone to inflammation. I squat deep (not bragging at all btw) despite my long femurs because my ankle mobility is great. How would you adjust someone’s squat protocol to minimise irritation? I can barely manage two hard sessions a week before they get painful. I actually perform better with way less frequency (1 session every 2 weeks for example) so that’s probably the answer, but I just can’t keep out of the gym because I bloody love it.

  • @SilverSlugs16
    @SilverSlugs16 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Basically exact same as me. I was blessed with a strong and sturdy back, the rare issues always go away quickly. My posterior chain was a strength before and it’s even stronger now. But boy do my quads need a lot of work. And they’ve been getting it, they’re much stronger than they used to be but still lots of work to do. And if you watch me squat, my priority is forward knee travel, stretching the quad. Depth looks funny sometimes but my quads are beat up after every leg workout and that’s the current goal since I’m not competing

    The barbell was not made to fit all different human sizes. Biomechanically some people are better pullers and worse squatters and vice versa. Generally, long femur means stronger back and posterior chain and weaker quads and inability to get ass to grass squats without extreme levels of natural mobility. Which also is not entirely trainable.

  • @aesop2733
    @aesop2733 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Looks fine to me. Most people get under that bar and make little corrections throughout the entire set anyway. What depth looks like can really vary as well. Calf and hamstring size will physically dictate available depth, the glutes and quads can balloon and make it hard to tell where the actual skeletal structure is. Of course camera angles.

      It is less to do with ROM and more to do with mobility/positioning. Knees forward biases the quad, whereas knees out or sitting back changes the loading more toward the posterior chain. He could squat deeper if he sat back or more into his hips but that would lose the quad bias. Since he doesn't have gurph's morphology/mobility send the knees forward and achieving deep depth is more difficult. Hope that helps

    Hey guys, this might be worth checking out: th-cam.com/video/c90y7RQo_lQ/w-d-xo.html Mike Isreatel had a guest on recently explaining that new research came out about partial reps but the REVERSE portion of the rep (lengthened muscle under tension being actually way more effective). I know this is primary for hypertrophy but it might have some good carry-over to strength as well.

    Powerlifters squats high in training to get used to heavier weights which in turn make competition weight lighter
