  • This is the second video I have done about adjusting the Hercules Table Saw because I felt like I didn't explain everything the best I could have and also because I have found a new and better way to adjust the blade in the Hercules Table saw from Harbor Freight Tools.

    Hi, I just purchased a Hercules yesterday. I purchased the $49 warranty because Harbor Freight will replace your table saw for free if you bring it back within 1 year. They will replace the saw even if it works fine. They consider that wear and tear. So, essentially, you get a new table saw for $49. Sweet!

    One more adjustment that your forgetting for the fence and which is the most important is: Is the fence parallel with the saw blade. Accuracy is important here. If indeed cut and outfeed cut are off even a sixteenth you cannot make square cuts. I'm about to buy this Hercules saw tomorrow. Have watched a hundred reviews on many jobsite saws and have settled on the Hercules. Good job with your videos bruh!

      I did buy the Hercules tablesaw and am very happy with it. I built an outfeed table/ cart on casters for it as well, which also has my router mounted on opposite end. Great set up.

Hercules table saw has a new model out now with the ratcheting fence lengther. The saw is plenty powerful enough. With a good blade I can cut through 2 and half inch thick walnut without burning it. I use my Hercules saw all the time and have two issues I need help with. One is the extension table lock lever needs tightening. With little pressure on the fence the extension table moves when locked. The other problem is that riving knife is not in line with my saw blade. How do I make the riving knife perpendicular to the table saw top? Thanks for your help and your videos on the Hercules table saw.

    Good info hear & there. If you adjust the trunnion bolts, I would get it as close as possible. Put some marks on the trunnion clocking them to the Nader side of the table. Once everything is square, take one bolt out at a time. Clean the bolt & the corresponding hole the bolt goes into and use some Blue Locktite as it is removable. Torque the bolt, you should be able to find a torque online by the bolt size. Move to the next bolt and repeat until they are all done. On the fence it appeared to me that you corrected any tow in or camber. You still need to move the fence right or left from the handle end of the fence. The saw I was thinking of getting was the Skil Worm Drive table saw. I don’t like the plastic gears though. I suppose it’s possible to use metal gears from another saw or I seen replacement metal gears on Amazon. I’m m not sure 🤔 f those are interchangeable, but it’s worth a shot I guess. I really do like the Hercules though. I line the 12” miter saw too, but I heard from one fella that it will not stay in adjustment. Having never owned one I can’t say for sure. Look forward to your thoughts.

    I have one of these saws and it was good but now it seems that the blade is crooked. Just a hair because when I use it toward the end of the piece it catches and then leaves a burn mark. When I run a piece of wood up with it off I see where it hits a tooth. Is there away to adjust the blade??

    Thanks for this. Got mine not long ago and it was 89.4 out of the box. I couldn't figure out how to adjust it. How did you get your fence parallel to the blade? Whenever I tighten mine, the edge opposite of the clamp moves to the right about a 1/16th to an 1/8. Holding the opposite end when clamping it helps, but it's becoming a pita to have to do all the time.

    • @philipshipley2865
      @philipshipley2865 ปีที่แล้ว

      I would assume you would have to use the trunions for that because one also wants the distance from the back of the blade to be equal to the distance to the front of the blade when compared to fence (or miter slots for that matter)

    Why do you guys that make these videos expect to make precision cuts on cheap saws. As a carpenter the last thing I do is waste time on tools. If it does not work as it supposed to any defects. After set up square and 45 degree 22.5 and zero. If things are not cutting properly it’s going back. Period. I use a 23 delta 99 dollar saw on site. It is rock solid. Plastic base. My 1800 delta shop saw stays covered. User error a real craftsman can figure junk out in two seconds,

    This kind of touches on something I absolutely hate with this style of bevel adjustment. Take something like a hybrid/cabinet saw, the bevel is adjustable by turning a hand wheel. Making little, fine adjustments to the bevel is a breeze.
    On these, there is no fine adjustments. Unlock the lever and the whole thing moves a degree or two. Then it takes whole lot of fussing around to get that last little bit.
    Why these manufacturers can't incorporate that one feature on these types of saws boggles my mind. It's just like the cheap sheet metal throat plates that don't offer much support and are a real PIA to cobble some sort of zero clearance plate. I have a old Delta that's like that and I have seen a lot of others do too.
