@@stevelee-u8y they sure do. I personally love the honey comb grills. Brings me back to my younger years with gmt400’s gmt800’s and early superduties.
I have notice the front ends are either a love or hate thing. Alot of people associate the plastic honey comb look with old or cheeper trucks. Personally i think the fake plastic chrome bars look pretty darn cheep.
Besides the look the headlights are really solid too.
Gm needs to step up the 6.6 some how. Ram has a chance to make a 440 v8 engine to compete with ford in their hd trucks. They really need to. It would be super cool to see some good competition.

My XLT 7.3 reg cab F250 with 4.1 gears is never not hooked to a gooseneck trailer and daily tows 12-16klbs. I in no way regret switching my business from diesel trucks to gas with this engine. My back up truck is a regular cab Ram 2500 4.3 gear Hemi 6.4 and also does the job, (with only slight less grunt). I sold my cummins rams and switched to all gas. At the end of the day it was a decision based on dollar signs not what my heart wanted, and I have not looked back. Very happy with this 7.3L Godzilla engine. Now I'm waiting on the gas cummins haha

I didnt even realize 4.10’s were an option for a 7.3. This was on the lot, i was out of warranty on my 6.7 and the price was right. In a perfect world i would have not picked 3.73. But its not holding it back at all. Id just be running in 9th towing instead of 8th

@@greatlakespowerstrokefx4 I don't remember ever seeing 4.10 either, just 3.73 and 4.30. I ended up buying a 2022 7.3 w/ 4.30 a couple of weeks ago with 5000 miles on it. It was a bit fancier than I wanted, but the price was right. We just towed about 10,000lb. We averaged about 8-8.5mpg. It was super stable.

Nice truck. The video towing your Kubota excavator convinced me to order my new F350 Tremor with the 7.3L. I wanted the ability to hook up to my 21K gooseneck dump or 21K gooseneck flat deck once in a while and I think the 7.3L fits my needs perfectly. 90% of the time I'm not pulling anything so I didn't think a diesel was necessary. I still plan on keeping my 07 GMC 2500 classic LBZ since I only have about 67K miles on him! And yes, your STX looks great. It looks just as sweet as a Limited or Platinum. Thanks for sharing!

You are going to love it. Its a budget truck that doesnt give up anything on performance. My dad had an 07 lbz from new until it got to about 102k when he sold it in late 2013 i think it was.
So iv towed with and driven a lbz a decent amount. I took my drivers test in the darn thing.
I think you will be pleasantly surprised that the 7.3 wont be a turd next to your lbz and its stance being a tremor will be pretty amazing. And for sure its going to drag around your dump trailer and gooseneck. The speed limit limits my truck not its power.
Tremor being 4.30 will be interesting too

Literally the hub just got slow that day which prompted me to make the video. Could have been the cold, the fact we had a few hours of 40 degrees then back down to 20 degrees which can cause vapor to freeze and mess them up.
All in all i hate vacuum hubs, my excursions were stupid and i replaced them right away with mile markers and never had an issue.
Between my dealer being really good and me urging them to follow though ford engineers literally looked at my truck when there was those axle issues and i believe the problems are fixed and also they are regarded as real issues because of my truck. They failed pretty early because of me using my truck fairly hard. The problem reared its head earlier.
Granted some problems but its a first year truck and some problems are almost expected with a redesign. (2023 re design). The thing is i wouldnt want to trade it for anything else in terms of its performance

Tuning makes a huge difference when its a good tune that truly optimizes the engine. I would really like to try tuning a 350 vortec. They are a bit different with the spider injection, i havent done it. The 454 has multiport injection like an ls.
I havent seen what the tables look like for a 350 vortec.
And i have not personally done a 411 pcm swap either, it looks like a nightmare. I dont really love electronics. I can muddle though it but its not my favorite.
Id look into blackbear for a custom tune. They may do 350 vortecs i dont actually know.
Another option if you want to get a bit more extreme is doing a carb manifold swap and do a self tuning efi system that has trans control capability for the trans (not sure if you have a half ton or 3/4 ton would be 4l60e or 4l80e). Both of which should work with holley sniper and that would get you ok tunable efi and it sounds alot less miserable than a 411 pcm swap if you have a pre 98.

It would be interesting to know if the GM HDs you tried out had the standard torsion bar or the camper, or the largest torsion bar which comes with the snow plow prep. I have not had the chance to compare ride with one that had the snow plow prep but do hear comments from forums that its noticeably stiffer, more so shows up with the gas engine as the diesels weight masks it better I suspect. Ford too, if they come with the snow plow prep coil springs up front its going to stiffen up that ride. And then there is the other variable, tire size ( or put another way lack of sidewall height ) and the tire pressures being carried make a big difference as well. Oh and forgot to mention that if someone cranked their torsion bars way up on the GM, that is not going to be kind at all to the ride. Admittedly its a few years ago now so the prior GM design and the Ford equivalent at the time and both were gas crew cab short box 4x4 and in that scenario the GM rode and handled markedly better on an extreme pothole section of gravel road. However I realize too that the IFS is NOT good at articulation on extreme uneven off road trails, they suck ... there's no polite way of putting that !

      @charlesb4267 วันที่ผ่านมา

@@greatlakespowerstrokefx4 You have brought up a very good question about physical weight which gets into both the empty weight of the GM vs the Ford as well as their respective payloads. I know there is quite a marked difference in similar trimmed trucks between the two brands, simply the Ford with its all aluminum body has quite the physical weight advantage over the GM. That in itself is helping out rather well for the Ford being able to boost its payload without having to have a higher GVW then the GM.
So diving into the spring rates and the GVW of the GM HD trucks ( I don't have enough information on the Ford standard front spring rate vs their plow package rate ) now one would assume the higher front spring rate of the GM torsion bars for the plow package would increase the GVW, but they do not up the the GVW, the only spec change they make is to the front axle weight rating. Since I have the information for the 3500 trucks I will list out the various torsion bar ratings for the gas engine for the crew cab short box. First off the GVW is 11550 across the board for all three torsion bar sizes, the rear axle rating is 7250. The three front torsion bar options are the standard 4800, the camper only package is rated at 5200, and finally the plow package is rated at the maximum 6000 pounds. Interestingly enough the Duramax tops out also at 6000 for the front with the largest torsion bars. Put another way, taking the gas truck setup with standard 4800 bars and then throw on an additional 1200 of stiffness to the front with the plow package, that can't help but change the ride quality. The Duramax option has built in physical weight over the gas on the front so that 6000 lb option wouldn't show up as starkly. The standard torsion bars on the front of the Duramax for the same truck configuration are 5600 lb so its only a 400 lb rating increase up to the plow package. Hopefully how I worded this explanation can be understood and also shed some light on why one GM truck may ride rougher on the front then another all based on what torsion bars it was optioned with.

@@bowtie092 i believe so. First of all a lt engine is not a ls. Many things have changed. I commend them for doing the 6.6. Improved low end torque from the 6.0 has long long been needed.
Somewhat independent tests have confirmed the 7.3 out tows the 6.6. Id love to directly compare them myself but i cant afford just go buy another truck. I would love to shoot them out independently of the automakers.
But besides that the 7.3 has more hp and more torque, im on a 6.6 gas group, they get pretty bad fuel economy. Sounds like guys are claiming worse with the 10 speed over their prior 6 (that could be in the tune).
The 6.6 has direct injection which has alot higher failure rate, more expensive parts than mpi (multi port fuel injection). It also has issues with lspi which the 7.3 wont ever have. 6.6 oil consumption is rather high. Potentially a windage issue.
Now thats just numbers and conjecture. If someone gets a crazy discount on a l8t from their employee purchase it might very well be worth it to them. Or they just like the gm truck better. I prefer solid axle over ifs in all situations.
Lets just say you dont want the ford. Id buy a 6.6 gm over a 6.4 hemi (unless i was buying a powerwagon). I dont think ram issues and 6.4 issues trump direct injection or ifs unless you are specifically buying an off road truck.
Thats my long answer but i think you deserve a clear answer not just i like ford better.
I own all three hd truck brands. Several examples of each. They all have their issues and different years where one was better than the other. Its just a matter of sorting out the best value for each specific person and budget

@@greatlakespowerstrokefx4 I agree I've been 4 wheeling since the 70's. We would lock the hubs when a storm was coming and drive with them locked. One of the rules that we followed was both locked or unlocked never just one. Just a note for anyone checkout SSM 52423. I printed it and took it do the dealer

Only a Ford owner could brush off major repairs on a truck with only 22k on it. Ford to my grave. Ford owners expect expensive repairs. That is ridiculous to have those problems in 22k miles. An older Toyota would throw a Ford owner threw a loop. No repairs needed.

@@Bill72583 i own 4 chevys, 2 dodges and another ford. Iv been around the block on breaking things. Iv done my fair share. Iv been party to alot of broken things from all three brands. Im not going to sugar coat it for my viewers, but i wouldnt want any other truck right now.
Given the work my truck does, and the environments it gets in, it holds up pretty good.
I suspect both axles failed because of an emergency recovery i did for my best friend which kept him out of big trouble. It was a level of abuse rarely anyone puts on their pickup especially not a daily driver. And its not even that they failed. The hub was not working right and the rear axle had the quietest squeak you could hardly hear it. Ford jumped on it, fixed it with no questions asked. If anything i think thats commendable.
Had i not loaded it the way i did, i wonder if it even would have squeezed at all.
Toyota has yet to build a truck i would not break, or could do what i do. Name one Toyota with an 18k conventional hitch capacity and 4385 lbs of payload. Ill stick with my ford. Or any of the big 3’s hd pickups over a tundra and obviously a tacoma.
The recovery i did which suspect may have caused the squeak to start, a Toyota could not have recovered it. It could not have yaked it and it would have needed a 12k winch, a doubler and another truck to anchor too. The toyotas driveline wouldnt have held up to the yanks and the truck isnt heavy enough to put enough force to pull even with a kinetic rope (which i think is the only way my truck could do it too)

Too bad the fronts about as ugly as it gets. At 200k, if takes it that long, it’s done. Diesel after 200k is the only discussion.

@@SeanGiampietro well my hunting truck has a lowly 5.3 with 261k all original. My 6.0 chevy had 202 on it when i built the engine and it measured 100 percent in spec. Still had cross hatching. My v10 has 193k and runs as good as new. I dont think its too much to ask a gas engine if its well maintained to go past 200k.

I personally feel they have the best looking front end. The GMC is pretty good looking too. Chevy is the worst looking one.
