There are dealers advertising and selling new 2025’s at $9k off MSRP. That’s the route I am going. So in that regard, it isn’t too great of a deal. However, compared to what many dealers try to charge this looks appealing especially with the certified warranty
Unless you are absolutely set on buying a brand new vehicle you would be better off buying a well taken care of 2 year old truck. Im looking at 2 low milage 2022, 2500's for $36k-$40k.
@gabemartinez2558 yes I'm so happy! I was pointing out the chroming process is more expensive than paint yet, buyers are charged more for painted bumpers, emblems etc.
With supplier pricing I just picked up my 2025 AT4X for 10k off of MSRP, so to me this truck is priced about 5k too high. Shocked why someone would already trade it in. Coming from a 2018 Ram 2500 if the 2025 Ram 2500 would have went back to solid lifters and went with a longer bed than the 6’4” I would have went that route. I hope to keep this truck 7 years like I did my Ram. Even with the massaging seats I preferred the Ram seats, maybe with time the GMC seats will break in!
Well the higher the initial price the bigger the hit on depreciation. BUT I seen those trucks (and the ZR2s) have some pretty good discounts last fall. So I’m betting they didn’t pay $95k. Also we as truck consumers have to throw out the craziness that was 2020-2022 on trade values during covid. That was not normal.
The only trucks that I know are still holding firm on values are the F450 and Raptor R. I was even shocked by how standard Raptors arent holding as stingy as they once did. The high end trucks are losing steam fast. Braptors are $10K+ off of the sticker, and Toyota Tundra TRDs are about $3-5K, which used to be full sticker up until recently. And Im sure you're getting a Ford!😂
I would think the more optioned out the truck is, the more it will depreciate. Let's say they listed the truck anywhere near 90k. Who would pay that when they could buy new and get a cheaper interest rate. I would think even at 10k off, with the cheaper interest rate, it would make more sense to buy new. Ultimately a well taken care of, low mileage 2-3 year old vehicle is the way to go.
Maybe the problems GM is having with the transmissions. I have a 2024 Denali Ultimate, and it's been in the shop since December 10th, 2024, for transmission issues. Another guy that I know has had the same issue with his 2024. I'm very disappointed in GM trucks and with GM.
Different transmissions! There's plenty of electrical/software gremlins with their trucks, tho. I've got 3 and been tonthe dealer more in the last 2 years than the previous 35.
The higher the price, the more you lose. These vehicles are extremely overpriced. Even my 2024 LT for $72k was overpriced. And if you put money into aftermarket modifications you lose even more money. Oh, speaking of losing money. AEV is putting their HD bumpers on sale Friday. Approximately $4,900 for the front and $3k for the rear. This does not include shipping, taxes, fender trim, or the front bumper skid plate.
@@skiphall709yeah it is a 2024 but has the refreshed grille. But it has everything I could want to include Duramax, Z 71 package, 1 ton, multi folding tailgate, rear parking sensors, 360 camera view to include bed view, and hitch view, along with the trailering app, center console, power rear window, all new upgraded interior, LED fog lights, heated seats and steering, etc…
If you could delete these they would sell triple what they do now and less would sell them so quick. It’s hard to keep these 24+ L5Ps when you can’t delete it and it gets boring.
funny how they assume a guy who bought it was barely able too when in reality its probably a guy who paid cash......they arent giving 100k loans out to people who cant afford trucks currently....why are these people even watching these videos that dont want or like them jealous is correct
You can only write off 40% of the total out the door price for 2025 it was 60% last year. Also you can’t just buy a truck every year and write it off if you’re gonna just trade it in yearly. So if I write off my truck in 2019 for 100k and sell it in 2020 for 50k I’m gonna owe tax on that 50k. That will be considered income because I wrote it off. Now I’m no accountant but a lot of people don’t have a clue about tax laws. I just know a little.
I don't say this much but it clearly shows how overpriced these trucks really are. This is a truck that would've been MSRP of 84k max if COVID didn't happen, but I regress. With discounts this should be in the 70's IMO. I'll offer them 75k if they want to sell it.
You don't count taxes into depreciation. He could have traded it in and that would have saved him money on sales tax. I order a AT4 and they are taking $6250 off sticker. Assuming he got that deal, he bought it for $89k and now they are asking $84k so I'm guessing they aren't making much on this used truck.
it's a really neat truck ... I like the styling and luxury it offers but bumps me to see how unsealed that engine bay is and that surface rust upfront aint right for 90+k
was same back during covid, you could buy new for cheaper than used but people still were.... a few of mine sold for more than I paid new, was crazy.....
So let me get this straight, you PAY extra for the "color match bumper" aka spray a little paint, and then I need to PAY for after market paint protection and it STILL chips terribly? Wow. But I'm sure at least the cup holders are made pretty well, right? No!? those chip as well, dang. Well at least they make sure the frame is going to hold up well to the elements, right? WAX COATED? Are you fooking kidding me GM? But hey at least I get PLASTIC fender flares and a radio in the tailgate! WOOHOO! At least it's cheap................................................sigh.

The definition of
“ Too new to be used”
One of the 1st things you learn as a sales manager.
Chrome is way more durable than paint on bumpers especially. Kills me how they charge more for painted bumpers now.
Shouldn't you be happy that chrome is cheaper and more durable?
@gabemartinez2558 yes I'm so happy! I was pointing out the chroming process is more expensive than paint yet, buyers are charged more for painted bumpers, emblems etc.
Great video as always, JB. That said, now you have me worrying about how quickly my 2024 Sierra 1500 AT4X AEV will depreciate!

Ford f250 high output power stroke is a beast. Out of all the diesel trucks, it is the Quickest out of all them. I've driven all of them.
Dealer gave me 60k even for my 2020 AT4 (nonX) Duramax 2500HD just last week. Seemed real fair to me
Straight up or was that a trade?

Employee pricing is the only reason I got a 25 Ultimate 2500
What is employee pricing like on one of these?

I think in general now 1500 are holding better value because the average consumer are buying those more.

$72,000 for a LT you did pretty good.

I wouldn't include taxes/fees in depreciation those are fixed costs in buying a vehicle.
used trucks have taken huge hits recently, I noticed it few months back

I'm hoping delete becomes legal soon, and then see what happens to my resell on my '21 Duramax.
Out with the Old in with the New🛻
That’s why I don’t understand why a new 2024 Ford F-350 is only discounted $1,300 off of retail.
Did you say that within 2-3 years the black paint comes off the bumper? Lmao 🤣
Probably traded it in because he couldn't afford the $1,800 a month payment. Overpriced junk!!

You'd be surprised how many poseurs there are buying these trucks and turning them into pavement princesses.

There are people, still buying trucks.
10K off msrp for a used truck is not a deal. You can buy a brand new one equipt exactly the same all day long for that

Markets coming down AND new trucks are over priced.
I woulnt buy one used at 84k. Thats how much they are right now NEW since theyre not selling.
Ive seen a Denali2500hd at 76,995 in Cali.
surprised no one is talking about the fact you cant configure a 2025 ram 3500 with air suspension
Late availability, I was told.
You can, but it’s only available with the Max Tow option which requires dual rear wheels.

Because they don’t last 😂
All because the trucks were way overpriced to begin with! Covid gouging definitely didn't help either!
People are holding out on buying a GM due to the fact of the trashy 10 speed transmission that are failing all the time
