The Swisstool X is imho still the best multitool overall out there, had a 1997 model that held up to everything, the newer ones have only slight changes in details and are still unbeaten when it comes to quality.
For my swisstool x, it was pretty easy to just grind out a secondary bevel for a package opener type tool like the spirit. I also gave the chisel end a little more of an acute angle and grinded out the wire stripping notch to make it larger like the spirit. That was really the only modification I felt like doing, which is saying a lot considering how much I feel like I need to mod all my leathermans to my preference. I think I’m going to buy a swisstool (w/o scissors) for the added serrated blade function and just carry the klein scissors since theyre so compact yet way more functional than any edc scissors for someone who likes working with their hands a lot. Thanks a lot for putting a spotlight on those klein scissors.

I have both Mini Sailors and I never thought to just swap the file over! So I tried it, and it totally works. Perfect fit. Although it is a little tricky to get it on the slip joint. Great mod, though. 100% improved the tool for me.
When Ultem first hit knife handles I didn't care for it. It made me think of really old yellowed plastic or scotch tape. Now I really like it, and that Mini Pyrite looks amazing in it. I also really want both of those Victorinox tools 😍
There's always some sort of trade-off. that's why most people just make modification to suit their requirement and it's fun to do. Still have the first Nextool multitool & mod the hell out of it. Old model but it performs just as good as the new ones. Just can't go wrong with Swiss MX. It is good. Cheers mate, great vid.
I don't own one but I reckon the MX Clip is the best multtitool out there and one I'd buy if I did want to splash out on a multitool - which I don't as I already own 6 and rarely use them, my attention has focussed now onto buying more high quality dedicated hand tools than I need instead, at the moment I'm obsessed with German and Japanese screwdrivers. Here in the UK the Leatherman Arc runs at £260 which is $325, whereas the standard price for the MX Clip is £100 less than that at £160, in fact they are on sale now for just £140.
I like Ultum in that it reminds me of days gone buy. I think it was used in more products when I was young. Having said that, I’m not completely sold on the see through scales and I can understand why many don’t like the yellowed appearance. It wouldn’t stop me from a purchase but I might choose another option. Nice that so far most who use it offer other materials as well.
Props to the Remette Rhino. There are way to many knives that can be easily thrust open. Some frame and liner locks have bad detent but many more button locks suffer from this problem. I love many Kizer knives but there is almost nothing holding the blade closed in their clutch locks. All the ones I have are terrible and wished I would have checked them out better before buying so many. The worse button lock I have is the Beglieter XL.
Just got a Remette button lock based on this review and my knife's blade absolutely opens freely when the button is depressed. I wondered if mine was actually working as intended and yours was maybe not, but you have a second video with the green version and it acts like your black one. So mine is apparently not working as intended, I looked closer at my detent ball and best I can tell it's not there at all. Shame.. I like the opening action a lot but knowing the knife isn't working as intended robs me of any confidence there won't be more problems down the line. Sending it back first thing tomorrow. None of this is your fault and I still love the channel! Keep up the great work and happiest holidays to you and your family!

if the full-size scissors don’t fit, I wonder why Victorinox doesn’t just use the 58mm Classic scissors in the Spirit X. They are tiny but still great scissors, and they open all the way!
Anybody tried to mod/customize the flagship pro? Are there any suggestions what to replace the 3 outside tools for? Is there a good, short file or small combination tool ? 🤔 I'd love to optimize that thing...
i’ve had four different Swiss tools from Victorinox over the years. I try them out for a couple of days and then end up returning them because the tools are too hard to deploy. they may be a higher quality product than what you get from Leatherman, but the Leatherman tools are deployable.
I’m getting the swisstool so will be interesting to see which one I prefer but the spirit is definitely much lighter and easier to carry and with better ergos but the Swiss tool definitely has more heavy duty tools so idk tbh it’s a tough one tho perhaps the difference isn’t that much so might end up preceding the spirit for its size and ergos. What about ur choice between the spirit and the manager? Which do u prefer and see urself carrying more? Personally for me it’s a hard choice cuz I see myself carrying the manager more for again it’s size and I live in a city but the spirit is a full sized multitool for survival and most tasks so definitely a tough choice. I like to hear other peoples opinions and preferences on this

For woman hands the spirit is so much more comfortable. I could not handle the swisstool. It hurtled the inside of my hand. But I guess for a man's hand, it would be a favorite.

Because I am in the market of buying a really good multi-tool and I am very undecided with which multi-tool to go with as far as either a victorinox Swiss tool MX clip or the Leatherman Arc and I see so many videos and reviews and pros and cons for each one and unfortunately I don't live in an area where they have these multi-tools in stock so that way I can try them out so all I have to go off of is people's opinions and videos on TH-cam and looking forward to your input, thank you
There absolutely NO COMPARISON - The Swisstool blows away all Leatherman products. I can not for the life of me understand why ANYBODY would buy a Leatherman over a Swisstool. It's pro vs amateur basically.
1. Swiss tools are more prone to seizing up do to grime or other sticky substances. 2. ALL swisstools have issues with the plier pivot that makes them loosen over time (no idea why this has yet to be fixed) 3. ALL swisstools have very terrible wire cutters 4. ALL swiss tools use nail nicks as their deployment method and cannot be opened with gloves (even ST300 and Rebar can) 5. 420HC has better edge retention then the Victorinox (this however is preference) I'm sure there are more. There are also reasons to get a vic over a Leatherman, but NOTHING is absolute.
