Laughing in the Face of Danger | Angels Landing & Remote White Pocket

- Perhaps the most dangerous trail in Zion National Park, as well as one of the most dangerous hikes in any national park in the country, is Angels Landing. We crammed into our final days in Utah the Bryce Canyon and Zion national parks, including the famous Angels Landing hike. Watch and see in this video. We’ve taken in so much, yet seemingly so little. It must be said that Utah has been epic! Indescribable beauty, unspeakable majesty, and a few scary caves and canyons. Yep, we’ll be back!
We’re up and away to White Pocket, Arizona where we finally get into some sand, enough to require airing down the tires. The landscape looks like it's covered in, well, cream cheese icing! Good thing Meg could work her magic on a tall order of Van Life Sourdough Cinnamon Rolls. We know you’re going to enjoy them … juuuust maybe not as much as we did! 🤪
Hang around at the end for a "wow, that was close" moment in the drone reel moment, and a bit of "run-Forest-run" stuff, featuring Alex of course.

Meg, the cinnamon buns looked delicious regardless that they weren't perfect! Ron litterally said exactly "yummmee" right before Alex did on the video, that is so funny! Also, I have been to Arizona a few times and I loved seeing it again with you guys!

Love the drone footage of White Pockets. Didn’t have a drone when we previously visited. I now have to convince my wife to go back. Thanks for sharing your adventure. There’s lots more to see in that area, it’s a paradise!😀😀😀😀😀👍👍👍👍👍

@@SlowRoamers What SD card were you using? San Disk is the most reliable and never had an issue. White Pockets is maybe better than the Wave. Stay safe out there!
I think it was an issue with the transfer process, nothing to do with the actual card/

We went through so many drone and camara batteries with the cold temps in white pocket.
Yeah, I’d didn’t get nearly as much flying as I’d have liked. It was SO cold.
We just did Bryce and a drive through Zion as it was a ZOO in late October. From there we hit up Point Sublime on the north rim of the Grand Canyon. Amazing area and great vid guys!

Went to Zion a couple of summers ago and didn’t do Angel’s Flight precisely because it was too busy. I’m glad to know they’ve taken steps to make it more safe. Smiling face is better than “model” face!

Meg, we have a van too, and only an induction stove; looks like you are having good success at making it an oven! Inspiring me to try it. Sourdough cinnamon rolls would be a good first swipe. :) Any helpful tips?
We just got back from Mexico last month. It is warmer!
We’d love it if we had UT as a backyard, seems like an excellent place to spend A LOT of time! I think using something like an omnia or even cast iron to cook cinnamon buns on the induction will be a challenge, you may need to get yourself a little propane burner if you’re going to do it at camp.

Have you thought about installing an onboard air compressor? I have started to look into one for my Chevy Express after getting stuck in Baja.
I’ve considered it, but I think I prefer the mobility of a portable compressor. We’ll be getting a larger compressor next year, but the one we have now is a big upgrade from the one we used last year in Baja.
As a fat kid... I wholeheartedly approve of Cinnabuns at camp!
