After the permit system was implemented, I figured I would never get to do this hike again. So when we won the next day lottery, we went. Even though it was snowing. To be perfectly honest, it wasn't that bad with microspikes. I WOULD NOT recommend hiking this in snow or ice without them. We made an agreement that if anyone felt uncomfortable at any point, we would turn around. Unfortunately, Tina never got the chance to see if she would do it or not after she woke up around 5:30 AM sick with food poisoning. So she decided to stay at the hotel while Clint and I climbed it. I had one brief moment where I second guessed myself, but got over it quickly and continued on. The hike is always amazing, but under these conditions, it was truly a once in a lifetime experience.

Australian here, I've become addicted to watching these hikes to Angel's Landing in all weather conditions since I found out it existed. What a stunning Winter Wonderland and what an amazing place. I watched a video of 4 teenagers perilously do the hike in icy conditions, without gloves or proper footwear. I had anxiety on their behalf. I was pleased you both had proper attire and sighed with relief when I saw those micro spikes get put on your shoes. Your video was so magical, I just loved it.

I've done this under normal conditions and have to say we didn't feel this was dangerous. There was a second (where I ask my buddy if he's OK) where just looking at it got in my head, but that was it. If we'd felt it was dangerous, we'd have turned around. It was peaceful, and calm and beautiful and just amazing. To this day, one of my favorite moments. That said, I would not do it without microspikes and/or I would not want to be the first person up breaking trail in these conditions.

In the summer of 1965, when I was ten, my sister and I went up the switch backs on horseback on a guided tour. She cried going up because she new how scary it would be going down; I cried going down because it was scary. Horses hung over the edge and their hooves slipped alone the narrow switchbacks. My horse was brown and his name was Bob. Thank you for this amazing tour in the winter. It resonated with me when you said that going down was harder. Beautiful footage and music. 🙏

The last mile of this hike is quite risky and challenging for most people, even on a clear weather day. Walking on a snow-covered narrow path (one does not always know what one is stepping on) amid cold weather and holding the camera with one hand, you pushed your luck, and I am glad you survived. I hope your video does not encourage or motivate incapable or inadequately trained people to take such risks. Regardless, these are amazing views, and kudos to the indomitable human spirit.

Honestly, wasn't bad as long as you had microspikes and weren't the first person up. It would be really unnerving to break the trail because you would have no idea what you were stepping on. And it would have been extremely slick without spikes. But if you were prepared, it was one of the most amazing moments in hiking that I've experienced to date. Some people (not saying you) said this was stupid or reckless but we were there and didn't feel that. It was just beautiful.

This was a special hike. These conditions made it a once in a lifetime experience. Strange to actually realize that in the moment. In the best possible way. Love Zion on a bad day, but in a complete white out like this? Mind blowing.

Zion is my #1 favorite park. Did AL last February with ice but no snow. The microspikes were amazingly effective. I was shocked how well they worked. Thanks for such a good video. I can almost pretend I'm on AL even when I'm in the daily life of this insane world. It's like meditation watching tranquility. God's work on display. Wow... you walked the miles and miles to get to the Grotto. I rented an e-bike cause I'm more lazy.

This was incredible! The views at the top were stunning with all the snow and fog 😍 Props to you guys for braving this hike! Im so scared of heights, but I enjoyed watching this. And poor Tina not feeling well. Being sick on a trip sucks extra.

This has become the new Mount Everest. Pretty soon there will be guides and sherpas charging thousands of dollars to carry peoples water bottles.

I'm actually glad they started a permit process for the chain section. The crowds were the most dangerous part, even versus hiking it in a snowstorm.

Tina was bummed she couldn't make it. But then again, she was nervous when we hiked it a while back and it was dry. So maybe a good thing.

Thanks to all your beautiful videos I finally went there to Angel’s landing in October and it was beautiful. After watching this video it’s even more beautiful in the winter but wow so much more sketchy at the chain part in the snow. Awesome video like always, Thanks for your videos.

It was incredible in the snow. And personally I didn’t think it was dangerous. Got in my head for a second at the beginning, but with lower crowds and micro spikes, it wasn’t bad.
