The blue and yellow wire is within the genuine 16pin Kenwood ISO harness connector adaptor. It's a terminated wire that will not be connected to anything on one end and usually covered with a sticky label telling you its the remote control input wire.

Hi, I just got this in the mail and are about to install it. Stupid question but do I connect the GND from the patch lead back to the GND on the male ISO-plug? (The plug that connects to the headunit)
Hey, sorry for the late reply, the ground coming from the CTMULTILEAD.2 can be attached via bullet to a similar ground from the vehicle, you can splice this into the ground of the other plug if preferred, as long as its grounded to a sufficient grounding source, you're good to go C2
Hey Jan, To get the CTMULTILEAD.2 to work with a Kenwood radio, you would need to cut both the 1st and 2nd J link (insulating to prevent any shortages from the exposed wire) and then connect the Key 1 to the wire connector, this will then transcode the correct binary language from the head unit to the interface C2

Hello, I tried to connect only with the jack but the steering wheel controls still do not work. I've also seen the video of how to mount the cable. But I'll try again. Thanks for the answer!
Hello I have a Kenwood ddx-9717bts model, and my dealer gave me the single lead wire wich is the apropriate for this stereo, at least it`s what i think because it doesn`thave the one wire connection, but instead a 3.5mm jack. So my question is, is the connection for the canbus and to the stereo this lead patch ctmultilead.2 the correct one? Could you help? Best regards
Hey Bruno, If you message our technical team through our ticket system they will be able to give you all of your answers support.connects2.com/tickets/technical C2
Hey, The Alpine will not work with the bullet connectors, it needs to have the 3.5mm jack connected to work, for further information, please see the installation manual: www.connects2downloads.co.uk/c2/files/InstallationGuides/CTMULTILEAD.2.pdf
hi their i have a renault scenic with a sony head unit a got the steering wheel adapter ctsrn005 patch lead do i have to chop in to the radio harness to wire this up i have key 1 key 2 and ground on it thanks billy
Hi +William Patterson, Is the patch lead our CTMULTILEAD.2, if so, then all you would have to do is retain all of the J-loops and use the jack for the Sony to work with your vehicle. In future, you wouldn't have to hack any of the wires, essentially attach a female grip to the corresponding wires C2
Hey +David Hall, The video sets out to explain the general fitting of the CTMULTILEAD.2. In the manual, it states for the JVC that you would have to maintain the orange J link only, severing the connection of the Green and Purple. In regards to the jack plug, the manual states that you either use the Jack/Key 1, so if a jack connection isn't present, then Key 1 will have to be connected to the 'Steering Wheel Remote' wire, C2
Hey +David Hall, That is quite peculiar, i'd suggest send off a quick enquiry to our tech team here: support.connects2.com/tickets/technical/ and include a couple of pictures of your current set up within, our tech team will help whittle down what the problem is, C2
+connects2 there was no need for me to make an enquiry as I had visited where I bought the adaptor from (Halfords) and it turned out I needed a bullet connector for my stereo remote wire to attatch to the Key1 connector. by sheer dumb luck I found out I had to hold the source select button on my steering wheel for the adaptor to learn my car (03 Plate Vauxhall Vectra)
Jamie Groom if you're in the UK contact Dynamic Sounds on eBay or their website ...if you're fitting a new head unit Sony and Pioneer are the easiest with just a jack plug connection,Kenwood, Jvc have a one wire connection...the adapter and patch lead (free with the adapter at Dynamic Sounds) cost me £23 for a Suzuki Grand Vitara.... works well, easy to fit.
Hey, glad to see you sorted the problem, but if you do run into any problems in the future, be sure to contact our technical team at support.connects2.com/tickets/technical/ and they will be able to contact you back with a solution within 24-48 hours C2
@@liviu9181 hi i also have a JVC and i think i'm facing the same issue. So basically i just need to cut the green and purple and leave the orange. After that step i'm stuck. Which wire do i connect in key1. Wht about key2 and GND?
hey im just a little confused on what wires to connect key 1 and 2 to is it a ignition barel position or something. i haven't bought my headunit yet but its going to be an android Chinese brand. are key 1 and 2 on that sorry if this is dumb because i havent got the unit yet
Hey, On the Chinese head unit there will be two fly wires that will be labelled Key 1 and Key 2, the Chinese make things really simple, the only wire that might need to be spliced onto will be the Ground wire, unless it comes with a ground fly wire C2
I want to fit the SWC to my "Eclipse cd 5030" Is it possible ? i have a brown and brown black wires called steering1 and steering 2 is it mean i can connect the radio to the steering control ?? because i can't see this brand on the list. Thank-you
Hey, With the Multilead.2 it will have 3 flying wires that need to be connected instead of the 3.5mm jack for Chinese Learning Head Unit's, these being the Key 1, Key 2 and Ground, in this case I would take into account that the Steering 1 is meant as Key 1, the orange, green and purple J loops all need to remain in tact also C2
Hi !!! I followed your instructions and connected the steering 1 to key 1/ steering 2 to key 2 and the ground. but only one button on the stalk responding ( the "mode" function on the stalk raises the radio's volume) ... is there any way to teach my radio to do the stalk's commands ?? or maybe my radio can't work with CTMULTILEAD.2 at all ??
Hey, With the Chinese Learning Head Unit you do normally have to go through a process to determine and set what buttons do which functions, this should be found within the manual, but no doubt you can find it online by searching for the head unit. C2

Hi. I've just bought a 2006 Focus with an aftermarket JVC head unit. It has your looms etc, but the steering patch lead looks like it has been mauled by a rabid animal. I have replaced some of the wiring, but did the key1 wire used to have a resistor or diode in heat shrink? Doesn't look like it was just a wire, unless something had been spliced into it by a previous owner. Thank you.
If I understand it correctly then to fit to my JVC kd-r794bt I cut the Green and Purple wires... leave the Orange. Connect the steering wheel controls (blue/yellow) wire to key 1 and attach the ground to the metal of the car body.

I bought this cable CTSRN004.2, and CTMultilead2, but i don't know where i connect Key 1 or 2 and the another cable.
Can you help me?
Hey,
Looking at the CTMULTILEAD.2 instructions you will need to retain all of the links and only use the 3.5mm jack input for your Sony head unit, any more problems don't hesitate to contact our tech team at support.connects2.com/tickets/technical

Hello, I tried to connect only with the jack but the steering wheel controls still do not work. I've also seen the video of how to mount the cable. But I'll try again. Thanks for the answer!

Hello
I have a Kenwood ddx-9717bts model, and my dealer gave me the single lead wire wich is the apropriate for this stereo, at least it`s what i think because it doesn`thave the one wire connection, but instead a 3.5mm jack. So my question is, is the connection for the canbus and to the stereo this lead patch ctmultilead.2 the correct one? Could you help?
Best regards

hiya, my Alpine HU has no mention of where key1 or 2 goes, nor does anywhere on Internet that I can find, can you please help?
renault scenic mk1
Hey,
The Alpine will not work with the bullet connectors, it needs to have the 3.5mm jack connected to work, for further information, please see the installation manual: www.connects2downloads.co.uk/c2/files/InstallationGuides/CTMULTILEAD.2.pdf
Do u need to alter any of the wires for a pioneer head unit?
Hi, I would suggest that you speak to our support team they will be able to give you advice. support.connects2.com/tickets/technical/ Thank you C2
hi their i have a renault scenic with a sony head unit a got the steering wheel adapter ctsrn005 patch lead do i have to chop in to the radio harness to wire this up i have key 1 key 2 and ground on it thanks billy
Hi +William Patterson,
Is the patch lead our CTMULTILEAD.2, if so, then all you would have to do is retain all of the J-loops and use the jack for the Sony to work with your vehicle. In future, you wouldn't have to hack any of the wires, essentially attach a female grip to the corresponding wires
C2
+Connects2 cheers bro
how about showing us how to set this up with a JVC head unit which doesn't have a jack plug as the manual doesn't cover this
Hey +David Hall,
The video sets out to explain the general fitting of the CTMULTILEAD.2. In the manual, it states for the JVC that you would have to maintain the orange J link only, severing the connection of the Green and Purple. In regards to the jack plug, the manual states that you either use the Jack/Key 1, so if a jack connection isn't present, then Key 1 will have to be connected to the 'Steering Wheel Remote' wire,
C2
I have done everything you have mentioned with no luck
Hey +David Hall,
That is quite peculiar, i'd suggest send off a quick enquiry to our tech team here: support.connects2.com/tickets/technical/ and include a couple of pictures of your current set up within, our tech team will help whittle down what the problem is,
C2
+Connects2 OK, I'll do that when I finish at work
+connects2 there was no need for me to make an enquiry as I had visited where I bought the adaptor from (Halfords) and it turned out I needed a bullet connector for my stereo remote wire to attatch to the Key1 connector. by sheer dumb luck I found out I had to hold the source select button on my steering wheel for the adaptor to learn my car (03 Plate Vauxhall Vectra)
I have a 1.5dci Renault megane cc on a 07 plate want to connect my steering controls what lead do I need to buy. Thanks.
Tkanks to this video i managed to install the controls at the wheel with sucess.
Thank you very much. ;-D
I bought a JVC KW-R520 and i don't know how to install the wires... I don't have a Jack on the player
I saw a comment of yours below and i tried that (keeping the orange wire connected and connecting the key 1 to the Steering Remote) and IT WORKS.

Hey,
On the Chinese head unit there will be two fly wires that will be labelled Key 1 and Key 2, the Chinese make things really simple, the only wire that might need to be spliced onto will be the Ground wire, unless it comes with a ground fly wire
C2
Connects2 thank you so much :)
Will this work with a Power Acoustik CPAA-70D radio?

I want to fit the SWC to my "Eclipse cd 5030" Is it possible ?
i have a brown and brown black wires called steering1 and steering 2 is it mean i can connect the radio to the steering control ?? because i can't see this brand on the list.
Thank-you
Hey,
With the Multilead.2 it will have 3 flying wires that need to be connected instead of the 3.5mm jack for Chinese Learning Head Unit's, these being the Key 1, Key 2 and Ground, in this case I would take into account that the Steering 1 is meant as Key 1, the orange, green and purple J loops all need to remain in tact also

Perfect !!! Thank-you very much !
Hey,
With the Chinese Learning Head Unit you do normally have to go through a process to determine and set what buttons do which functions, this should be found within the manual, but no doubt you can find it online by searching for the head unit.
C2
hey,so i have a sony radio now and i dont need to cut any wires, just plug it in.is this correct?
Yes, the sony doesnt require you to cut any of the J Loops
C2

Yes this is correct :)
Very helpful, perfect.
disculpen no lo podrían hacer en español para sus clientes en latinoamericano por favor
Hey Danna,
Keep your eyes peeled and I will see what we can do ;)
