Great video! I have the speed and the power ( ball speed in the mid 170's) but still hit too many OB shots w/ my driver. I'm a good player, 6 handicap, but just can't seem to be able to overcome my driver and end up playing defense golf. It's so frustrating!!!! I want to be able to hit my drives like you do.. Long and straight!!!! If I make it back to Ca I will take a lesson w/ you. Such good info here..
Hi Steve, another fantastic video ,you are a breath of fresh air om TH-cam. I play off my left, though I am right handed. Do you have a similar drill for the lead arm?
Thanks. I’ll have to try this out. I avg 126 mph ball speed with my 7 iron but really struggling with the speed on my driver. I avg 148 with my driver. On days when I’m really going at it, maybe 155. Not sure why the speed doesn’t translate to the driver.
I have off and on been studying mike Austin.. But he sometimes got too emotionally off topic to be clear and your initial swinging got me thinking. The "behind you" part isn't stuck if you roll the left arm?
It's also an image because most golfers are not shallow and inside enough. However, a good handle path through impact will save a swing that's under plane. Look at Sergio.
I used to be a slicer when I was young now 55yo and now my bad miss is a hook or even duck hook. I am using a fairly upright swing plane and barely any wrist. Still hitting it 250yards. Is this drill designed for slicers only? seems to me like I would be hitting right angle duck hooks using this method?
Those views are great especially demonstrating how the right hand hinges
Great Video. May cause a hook by swinging so inside out. Will try it out at the range.
Great vid. working on my swing , thanks
Hi Steve - Looks simple in the video, I'll give it a try on the range , doesn't look like max effort either ? Garry B in Manchester UK

When you get the handle path on plane you won't believe how easy it it to hit everything straight. Feel free to send a video to Steve@hititlonger.com!
Is the release just for driver or the same for irons and fairway woods
Everything.

Check out my video from earlier this week called 'the greatest distance drill ever'. Do that with the left hand and you're gold.
During your actual swing unlike drill, are you using that much right hand and arm? Or is that just for drill? I’m gonna try this!
Thank you
What if my wrist isn’t that flexible and it starts to hurt my wrist from doing this?
Well barring a condition or injury, the wrists can be stretched like any other muscle.
I've seen you a few times at the range at RUGC, you seem to be hitting it well...
@@sputnik20 thx bro I’m actually a pga pro now and that is my go to outdoor range! Say hi next time!
Take up knitting .

Are we supposed to hit from entire right side including lower body and not only arm and right hand?
Thank you Coach Steve . . . my back loves you too death.
Have u ever watched Bobby Jones golf instructions and incorporated his swing. After all he has been the only true grandslam champion.
Love Bobby Jones swing. The 'Impregnable Quadralateral'.

Only if you let the clubhead cross the flight line while flipping the toe over.
Love your video's Steve. I'd say trebuchet not a catapult (you probably knew that hah!)
If only it were that easy, the struggle continues with building speed while still keeping the ball in play
Yes! The longer your get the straighter you have to be.
Keep working on your speed, eventually your speed “floor” will change. As your max club head speed increases, so doe your smooth club head speed.
I will definitely try this drill. I need more distance an constant drives with both driver, and my irons. Thanks
2:38 is nothing like 3:43
Not even remotely similar 😂
That’s Moorpark
Please teach me how to hit a 3 iron off the deck
You mean above 5 feet in the air? You need speed!
Some say it's never been done before with success 😅
Put it back in the bag and grab a hybrid
Get rid of it and put in a hybrid already.
thought I was listening to Jeff Bridges!
I’m good with this until my left hand joins in. I’m left-handed in a lot of things. It seems like it always wants to take over.
