Most of the generic commercials are ones with older general audiences which is why they're less creative. Adults don't need wacky commercials to get them to buy a game they just want to know more about the game.
It's because of two reasons, the first is the change of audience, people are smarter they want Actual info before they buy something. And number 2: because 90% of this commercials would get them sued for deceptive marketing, I mean seriously most of this commercials are either just straight up lies or have nothing to do with the product.
Interesting to see that Castlevania IV commercial. They never referred it as Super Castlevania. Plus that game footage is nothing like the actual game.

You can tell so many of these commercials were made by Boomers who didn't even play the game they're trying to sell. And the rest of them are using "it's so impossibly hard you'll never beat it" as a selling point, or just some gross-out shit unrelated to the game. What even was the 90's?
