4:52 You can place colonial units to deploy in your country btw, there won’t be green lines but if you are able to click on any of your home states and get them to deploy there

Hey tip when taking puppets manpower when it shows where you can deploy the troops you can actually put them training in your land even though it isn't highlighted.

Honestly based for using field hospitals. I really enjoy using them considering it seems to be one of the most obvious and important support companies a division would actually need in a war.

I'd agree if you didn't have limited support slots. Honestly I feel like all the support companies seem essential for modern war. Well maybe not maintenance for infantry...
@@ProjectEkerTest33 Maintenance give equipment recovery so they can be good if you're playing a country that doesn't have that many factories but a good manpower pool. I have worked wonders with China against Japan for example.

Something that I do is switch the starting divisions to the smallest template (2 infantry) and then with the additional manpower queue up as many of those small divisions as I can. Then just switch them to the copied Indonesian template once they're deployed.

How would you get Military access through Iran, Iraq, Romania, Bulgaria, Yugoslavia, Hungary and Czechoslovakia.
Not to mention your troops will have sh*t supply.
Ya really think supplies can be delivered more than 1 times a month because you're gonna have to traverse 6000 km.
With trucks that only go 55 miles per hour.

hey, love the vid. I tried a game as well. I'm not that good I understand the very basics. no meta's etc. but what i found was if you only hold Amsterdam. Rotterdam and Utrecht. make it lvl 10 fort and radar and AA. with the same template you'll have about 60% entrenchment. and that will bleed the Germans. i went 600 deaths to almost 500k. this is without imunidate the lines (i forgot to do that) you eventually can push them back. even in time before the east indies get invaded
I'm pretty sure I saw that you can actually deploy colonial divisions in your home country, but given that this is meant to be not-exploit strategy it wouldnt make a huge difference. Assuming it is actually unintended behaviour that they decide is worth removing. Only difference it makes is having to move them back to your homeland, which is thus more entrenchment and more flexibility at the start of the war. Valuable but not necessarily vital since allies should have Naval supremacy anyway.
Fun fact: I have no dlcs and I decided to play the Netherlands without a focus tree. Its surprisingly fun and like you did with Canada you can actually get mechanized in 1937 ish i think.
The AI seems to have got smarter. In my case the Germans just stomped Belgium first. Capitulated them, then declared war on me. Then swept around my flank and I couldn't build forts and didn't quite have the divisions to spread so thin to defend all that extra frontline.

The previous videos are fun and more about cheats but this one was more interesting and education in my opinion
German AI stopped attacking because you filled up the front line. Level 5 fort with full ( 90 with worth infantry) defense, and some air superiority, will make AI stop attacks.

Use the dockyards to build convoys, even with no resources some extra convoys are better then nothing

What if you play a country in multiplayer and just spam out infantry division with only 1 infantry in it to make it seem like you have a gaint army to have people not attack you?
If you hover over a division you also see an approximated battalion count based on your intel. But it doesn't really matter, even if you had an high battalion count you get a stacking penalty and supply issues, also Green air and tanks will still break through.

Can you share how you divi out armies to general. Keep general all infantry? Mix it up? Keep a general all tanks etc?
You definitely want to concentrate your tanks or other attacking divisions under a general or generals who specialize in offense. So, yeah, you'll have your generals with defensive units that exist to hold the line and then your generals that are for pushing.
does this work if your also doing the focuses to bring back the dutch monarchy?

Hey there, I don't know if anyone still responds to this video, but, while I am able to get the divisions down and get them placed and equipped, I seem to often run late on building my fortresses. I tend to try build them somewhere in 1938, but always seem to be too late to finish the line fully. Is it because I may be focussing too long on building civilian factories and military factories? Im starting to think it is. I should add, im still rather noob at Hearts of Iron 4 so that probably has to do with it too. That said, I like your videos alot, so thank you!

Could you do Soviet union Trotsky path, puppeting everything around you even japan and china, then relesing all internall puppets and doing comecon in the end path ?
Only if u didn't know, it doesn't show u but u can deploy Indonesian man in ur country(it works with every puppet template) so u can get in the line without them traveling all around de world

In my experience (playing as the Netherlands) upgrading to level 2 art/aa/at isn't worth the hit to production. Also the Japanese invade Indonesia a lot sooner and deprive the NL of manpower.

I wish that Germany AI uses paratroopers more often forcing you to divert men off the frontline to protect your rears. How embarrassing for a player using this strategy only for German Fallschirmjäger landing behind you and taking your capital and supply depot forcing you to capitulate

Top tip... if you are playing with Ireland do this exact same thing... just invade the Netherlands first.

Why not use the dockyards for convoys? If there is any steel remaining it'll just flow into that. Better use them if you have them!
Also, you can use the alternative democracy path to "insta annex" belg/lux with cores to fix your entire economy (I think you can get them as early as 1937). Alternatively, replacing the government quickly and taking the first colonial focus gives you really nice (and cheap) decisions to boost economy in terms of construction speed +15% and -5% consumer goods. IMO this outweights the debuffs from the starting point gov.

i beat the germans in 1939 road to 56 as poland with crappy divisions, and if i didn't intervene the allies would've lost. really shows how SHIT the allied divisions are in rt56, and the ONLY reason i declared war on them was through the silesia or war focus.
