      Thank you 😀 I think sometimes it's easy to forget that independent designers have to try much harder than big companies to survive - they rely on the customers only (and I like TATB so I want them to do well and grow 😀) x

    I bought this lovely book a couple of weeks ago and have since bought the other two. I’ve already made the Safiya dungarees and am making the Olive pinafore for my mum. I’m new to sewing after a break of many years and got a new sewing machine, now I’m in a quandary as to whether I need an overlocker - especially as I now want to make the Bertha cardigan after watching your video! Thanks for your lovely channel!

      Thank you 😀 my favourite Tilly's book is probably Stretch but I like them all 😀 I'm sure you're going to enjoy all your makes, Tilly's instructions are great 😊 You don't actually need an overlocker to sew knits (but I love machines, so I'm never going to discourage anyone from getting an overlocker 😉)×

    Hi Alex, I must have been living under a rock... I didn't know that you had a you tube channel 😉😁. I'm a new subscriber and I'll have to go back to look at your earlier videos 👌. I love Tilly's design too and I think she has done wonders for the sewing community. I love the cardigan and so easy to wear 💖. I have Tilly's Stretch book but I haven't got the new one yet but it's on my list 👍😁💖😘

      haha, I'm not famous 🤣 I've had the vlog for 6 months and I'm still rather crap at it, but it's more of a personal challenge (I'm not trying to be popular, I had an almost phobia-like camera shyness and I'm trying to get rid of that) I'm not a professional vlogger - I didn't even have editing software for the first few videos 🤣🤣🤣 but (as you might know) I have lots and lots of enhusiasm - so I compensate my lack of experience/knowledge/tools with my enthusiasm 🤣

      Thank you Dani 😁 I will make hacks of some of the patterns (Tilly's patterns are perfect for hacks) so I definitely am very happy with the book. Tamlyn (sewn on the Tyne) has made a great Bertha - in some jersey from Lamazi (I think) - so you can make it as fun or as serious as you wish (I do love this pattern) x

    I love this book. I Pre ordered it on Amazon when it was priced at £17. But when I paid for it it was £14.89. I think this is my favourite of all 3 books. I also got the Juno pjs and Tabitha tshirt in the Love Sewing magazine lol. I think the dungerees and pinafore are my favourites but I love everything xx

    Love you cardigan, Alex! Whilst TABT patterns are a bit "young" for me, I have a huge amount of respect and admiration for Tilly. I think the tips and techniques are helpful and love that she provides instructions for "making it your own". Love the enthusiasm for sewing her books generate and believe they provide good value for money spent. I've watched many vloggers learn to sew with Tilly's books and patterns.

      Thank you Laura ♥️ I'm not always in love with the patterns themselves (which is normal, we are allowed to like whatever we like, we are unique and should stay that way) but I like the fact Tilly encourages people to be brave, change the patterns and have fun. And her techniques are always interesting (even if I often decide to do things my way 😉 ) x

I am just finishing off the Safyia Pants (I love wide legged pants 😂😂) I did download the PDF so if you want to DM me I will tell you how) but I did find fitting them for me a bit of a challenge around the crotch depth and rise. I started sewing with Tilly books, I blame her for all the money Ive spent on sewing over the years lol, then I lost interest due to lack of size inclusivity but I have regained interest since sewing Indigo. There will be lots of makes from the book on Instagram soon, so you will know if you like the patterns (I like seeing things on various bodies, made by people with various skill levels- and less professional photos). I like the fact they are expanding the size range a bit - I hope it will be financially viable for them to add even more sizes. I think you'd look good in the pinafore (with a floaty bell sleeved blouse for a romantic look or a simple top for a more casual one 😉) x

    • @GingerheadCo

      She has started expanding the size range (so far she's only gone up to size 24 UK- I think it's size 20 in the US: 48 inch bust, 42 inch waist and 51 inch hip) so maybe she'll expand even further soon. The patterns are definitely fun and easy to make so hopefully there will be more sizes in the future 😁x

    Hi, I have just bought this book and straight away decided to sew the Bertha. What fabric did you use and where from ? Xx

    • @GingerheadCo
      @GingerheadCo  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      For this one I used medium weight knit from Coalville (it's a group on Facebook) but I also made a few more (there's a video with 3 more Bertha cardigans ), most moderately stretchy fabric will be fine (double knit, ponte, French terry - I also used jersey that is heat modified and a double layered jersey )

      @rebeccapearson2155 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@GingerheadCo thanks so much for this. I am a beginner sewer and was wondering actually if I could get away with a French Terry. So far I have made a pinafore from Tilly and some stretch tops. I am no where near you in experience so appreciate your reply and advise xx

    • @GingerheadCo
      @GingerheadCo  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@rebeccapearson2155 thank you 😊 Tilly's books are great to start sewing, she explains things really well 😀 French terry is definitely going to work, just make sure you use the French terry with some spandex (it's usually 5% spandex and the rest cotton) because there are some that are 100% cotton (or polyester) and they don't stretch much. Good luck with your Bertha, I hope you love yours 😀
