The lady who last owned this house left the same buffet here. I wanted to toss it but somehow it holds a lot of our stuff so it’s sort of helpful keeping it! I don’t think I want to paint it - the finish is in good shape - but I want to repolish it.
I've noticed that Grays and Whites are fairly DOMINANT in ALL of the videos I've seen of different people redoing pieces. I LOVED your Hardware before you painted it, but I can see why you did. GREAT JOB!!!!

Beautiful end result. I think some people’s gripe w the painting of real wood is that the real wood finish makes it high end. Based on how it looked originally, the wood was chosen carefully and was paid a premium for due to its grain and lack of blemishes. It’s usually the lower quality wood many manufacturers use to paint over.

Well..the piece is pretty but I have decided, (just my opinion) that if you have a high end piece from a well known manufacturer that refinishing the wood on the top and drawer fronts is really the prettiest thing to do. Then use a complimentary paint on the sides, legs, etc. I think those sell the best also.

I read on the back of my chalk paint it doesn't recommend rolling it on. What kind and what thickness roller did you use? It's so much faster with a roller and your finish looks great!

What do you suggest for an executive desk off-white type color? The desk has a very shinny finish, do I just sand that out?
It's hard to say without seeing the desk. But if it's a shiny finish I would sand and prime to ensure the paint adheres well. Thanks for watching! ☺
