In my area, Facebook is an absolute joke. Tons of "Is this available" and never hear from them again after responding to them. No shows.

I hate it as well and that model of business done through Facebook, that Lindey uses is not my cup of tea as well. I rather stay on my other platforms like Ebay.
I am so glad these types of videos are back! This sounds so much easier and less risky than sell similar. Sell similar seems the only way to get my sales going, but I haven't done entire store price adjustments. I am going to try your method. I would love to hang out while you make candy!
Bottom line - the ecommerce retail space is overcrowded. Didn't be this way decades ago. But now, everybody is trying to start an "ebay" type business. Everybody, college students, seniors, the laid off, you name it.
What I hear you say Lindsey is that you went through your listings, did a BULK edit and reduce the prices on your thousand items; and then go back and do a bulk edit to increase those prices; is that right?

We always ensure that all items in a buy can be covered by 1-2 sales. Never have capital tied to ebay. If it fails we could just box everything and move on. Wish sales were better but we are down about 3.5% from Last year.

I like to hover near the bottom of sold comps when i list an item. I want the sale. I dont set the market value, the buyers do that. There will be three or four listings that offer the same item at a similar price. I encourage offers to get the sale.

race to the bottom is.a non-issue. The supply and demand curve dictates when price is lowered, demand increases.
How can your net be so close to the price of the item sold after the fees and cost of goods? Mostly the fees alone?
Shipping fee collected almost always pays for the shipping label and eBay fees. Ebay charges customers retail rate and sellers pay commercial so someone might pay (calculated by ebay) $12 for shipping and my cost is only $7.80 so the rest more than compensates for fees and my COGs is just very low because I've already made my money back on loads for items that are on ebay
Listing high demand items at a fair price drives sales.
Race to the button is a supply and demand issue. Find and sell items with higher demand or lower supply and items will sell without discounting. Yes, easier said than done.

I have a question on shipping with your FB group... I'm in NY and have wanted to purchase some of your items - do you use Pirate Ship rates and try to go with the least expensive rates?
And my ebay sales fluctuate... some weeks are amazing and others slower... but I also sell on Mercari & Amazon so it all evens out
I use pirate ship and shippo to find the best rates 👍 I also combine all items at the end of the week to combine shipping ❤️

it is very similar to Ebay but much simpler to make listings, and the set up is simpler as well. You can sell both local and shipped.

If I were you, I would get my butt over to the bin store every day of the week to stock up on FB and eBay. I would even go on higher price days and make sure the manager knows I'm there on days besides .50c- $1 days. You want him to stay in business. You don't have to spend a fortune on high price days, just an item or two each week. Let him know you care about his business, and you are not a cheapo.
