You seem to have missed the fact that Wilzig, the scientist saved CX404's life, as she was born underweight and was meant to be incinerated. You later see that she's indeed not the brightest dog, as she struggles to follow basic commands while her cousins and siblings are perfectly trained and obedient...
"Getting sidetracked" is pretty much the main purpose of the fallout games. You may have a very important family related quest to finish, but you will always get side tracked by the events in the game. And its those endless side quests that make Fallout so much fun, and irresistible, and replayable!

The broken water chip in episode 3 is a callback to fallout one, your vaults water chip breaks and you have to leave the vault to find a replacement.

Wilzig knew everything about Vault Tec and the Vaults because he worked for the Enclave, who constantly spied on Vault Tec (game lore)

The mutated Yao Guai or Yogi Bear are common enemies in the game.
Lucy holding her weapon is a nod to the players of the Fallout games, according to the director and the boss of the game studio, as noone ever holsters their weapon in the game when we approach NPC's 😁 But don't tell me you didn't notice why the Gulpers "teeth" seemed soft. They were actually human fingers.
The slow motion shots in Filly emulate what occurs in the game when using the VATS targeting system. Time slows down while you target a portion of the body and you get a percentage of a chance to hit your enemy. VATS is also helpful in determining who is an enemy (red), or a friendly (green). VATS can also help the player discover any booby traps and Frag mines in your area. VATS is especially helpful when targeting flying bugs.
What I really hate is that we didn't get a "name image" for CX 404 like we did for Lucy, Maximus or the Ghoul. I understand they wanted to build up fear as soon as the ghoul "kills" CX, but she deserved it. I love this good girl

In the games you are given the opportunity to help a stranger who asks for a drink. You can decide to help or not.
All Vault suits increase Radiation resistance by 10. They can resist Energy rays by 5 (from laser weapons). And they can be further modified for increased resistance.

She might love the fact that in one of the games, the player can get a Ghoul companion (not unlike the one in the TV series), and can romance him too.

In the games there are friendly ghouls, and there are hordes of very unfriendly feral ghouls, and ghoul children (not because Ghouls can procreate of course) The child ghouls have been child ghouls for over 200 years.
