The look on Jay's face when Adam guessed the musical was like, well, seeing a nuclear bomb go off.
It was glorious.
And, funny enough, the look in Adam's face too.
That was fantastic.
We are all witnesses to that bet. It must be honored.
OMG that was literally the best thing that could have possibly happened all 4 eyes almost fell right out onto the floor.
Jay learned a valuable lesson about gambling and I hope Adam enjoys his $1000
I love that they're using Stimpacks just like the game; grievous injury? Hit up a stimpack and you're magically healed. And no explanation either. Brilliant.
Perforated bowel? Not a problem! Nothing a dose of stimulants can't fix!
Well she wouldn’t have needed to staple herself then; it should’ve been healed.
Its not magical, stimpaks have backstory too.
@@grimmwerks She still needs to level up her Medicine skill, to make stimpaks more effective.
Like someone else said it's not magical, there's a reason for how they work.
The actress who plays Muldaver was not in Ms Marvel. She was in Jessica Jones though
This series has so many great cameos. Have fun!
She was Jeri Hogarth's love interest in season 3
Isn't she also in the Boys college spinoff Gen Z?
@@nickyutzy4788No, both are of Indian descent but she looks nothing like the Gen V actress imo. The Gen V actress is also 10 years younger.
I remember her big break globally was the probably the movie Kama Sutra (no, it's not porn, it's actually a great movie) along with Indira Varma (from HBO's Rome and Game of Thrones). Naveen Andrews from Lost and The English Patient is in it too.
Season 2 was announced just before season 1 premiered.
The show it's awesome from beginning to end, soup to nuts
We better be getting a season 2 with that evil freaking season 2 hook at the end.
My only complaint about this show is that we did hear "Big Iron" at any point, we better get it next season.
@@foulrot By the tease at the end I bet we will, if we didn't it would be like _a kick in the head_
@@foulrot what a great song
All those burps, farts, and uninteresting parts!
After I first saw the scene of Maximus being interrogated, I thought to myself, if Disney wanted to replace Jonathan Majors as Kang, Aaron Clifton Moten would be a great choice.
The performance in that scene was so excellent. I really didn't know if he did that to his friend or not.
dane is an even greater friend than most realize. they were maximus' only friend and their promotion would leave maximus completely alone. they sacrificed their ambition so that maximus could thrive away from that environment.
The way his whole voice and demeanor changed over the course of three lines in that interrogation scene gave me chills.
@@vinsanity40kshe was scared don’t lie
@@metalhead522 *they were
@@paharris4266 you can call her they all you want.
I don't know why the line "is it your thumb, or mine," is quite so goddamn heartbreaking, but it is. That kid actor is AMAZING.
She nailed it. I wanted to reach through the screen and give her a comforting hug.
Terrific scene! Such a cutie pie and totally nailed her performance.
She is stupendously adorable.
Is there context for that line?
@@mimiisaac6788 One of the questionable things people were told during the cold war was that if they saw a mushroom cloud and could block it out with their outstretched thumb then they were far enough away to be okay.
3:57 the bombs dropped right before Halloween in 2077
I wondered why fallout 4 had Halloween decorations on some of the houses in sanctuary
@@clintbrew October 23, 2077
Chronological Order of the Fallout Games:
- October 23, 2077 - The Great War, day the bombs dropped.
- Year 2102 - Fallout 76, Survivors from Vault 76 reenter the wilderness of West Virginia.
- Year 2161 - Fallout (1997), The Vault Dweller leaves Vault 13 and travels through Southern California
- Years 2197-2198 - Fallout Tactics, The Warrior battles for the Midwest
- Year 2208 - Fallout: Brotherhood Of Steel (2004), is thought to take place in Texas though it is unclear
- Year 2241 - Fallout 2, The Chosen One wanders through California, Oregon, and Nevada.
- Year 2277 Fallout 3, The Lone Wanderer searches through the remains of Washington D.C. for their father
- Year 2281 Fallout New Vegas, The Courier is on a quest for revenge in the deserts of Nevada, Arizona, and California
- Year 2287 Fallout 4, The Sole Survivor has escaped their vault into the Commonwealth, formerly Massachusetts
- Year 2296 Fallout the Show, The wilds of California are set on a course for chaos with the actions of Lucy, Maximus, and The Ghoul
damn the bombs dropped on my bday, what a present to me ig lol
Just fyi, the Brotherhood of Steel game isn't canon at all, especially since it contradicts a lot of stuff in the games that came before it.
And with Tactics, it's sort of up in the air.
It's not *technically* canon, but the other games have canonized bits and pieces of it.
One notable example is the Midwestern chapter of the BoS being cut off from the rest.
@@eddmario I just listed all the games, wasnt gonna bother with canon for people who haven't played most of them anyway. Also to give examples of the different territories the games have visited.
Thanks for the timeline!!
I love the brief descriptions of each game's main questline!
*The pickles.* Yes, we’re rooting for dad when it happens, but that’s salt and vinegar in those open wounds and the airway. On a subtle level, absolute horror.
The moment Adam shoots the darkness and hits, with that musical name, was so perfect. The Chosen One is revealed lol.
34:55 In FO 3, the power armour was treated like just a suit of armour. In FO4, it is an actual exoskeleton that you need to climb into. They clearly choose that here.
The Brotherhood began on the West coast. The DC branch travelled from there to DC.
Then the DC branch had a "fallout" and was kicked from the California branch
Then Arthur Maxson fixed everything.
@@unxprienced9548Lyons went off script and focused their resources to help the locals and not collect technology, that's why the outcasts split off. They continued the real brotherhood mission and it wasn't until Elder Lyons died and Arthur Maxon became elder that they mended the relationship and rejoined the larger brotherhood
@@shoot646 Though the eastern brotherhood was still different, at least in new vegas vs Fo4. Far more aggressive, unified and territorial. The west coasters were divided into chapters and were insular while the east coasters were empire building, actively recruiting outsiders and also focusing on wiping out the mutants and ghouls.
It looks like they've united under the eastern doctrine now, which would explain why the NCR is on the backfoot.
@@simonbarabash2151 that was Lyon's doing, we was part of the western brotherhood and he went off script to help locals and hunt super mutants. That's why the outcasts split, they still held the Western Brotherhood's ideals. It was Maxon that brought the outcasts back into the brotherhood and got them back on task. They're still just a detachment of the same brotherhood as in the west.
“so much eye trauma on this show!” Wait for Chris Parnell.
I immediately knew Jay hadn't played 4 when he didn't yell about The Prydwen.
That's not the Prydwen.
The Brotherhood canonically has multiple airships in their disposal.
Hell, even the original games made by Black Isle Studios mentioned them.
@@eddmario But for the people who played Fallout 4 and mainly sideded with the brotherhood if you see that airshift you are going to call it the Prydwen atleast on the first look at it.
@@thessjbacca5177 True.
Hell, when the first trailer released people on the Fallout subreddit were complaining about it because it meant that certain endings of F4 were made canon, when in reality it was confirmed long ago that the show wouldn't make any specific endings from any of the games canon.
@@eddmarioit 100% is the Prydwen. There's a shot where, when you zoom in, you can see the name on the side
@@WestCoast408 It was confirmed before the show releases that it wasn't the Prydwen and is a different airship called the Caswennan. The name being on the side of the ship was more than likely either a mistake the effects team made or they recorded the footage used of it for the pitch to Bethesda and Amazon.
Can I just say I love that you guys both like puns, it's so rare to find a duo where one doesn't hate or at least joke that they hate puns.
3:43 October 23rd 2077 is when the bombs dropped, also when this scene takes place. The first Fallout game is set in *2161* so nearly 100 years after the Great War. Fallout 2 is then set in *2241* followed by Fallout set in *2277* exactly 200 years after The Great War. Fallout New Vegas is set in *2281* and finally Fallout 4 is set in *2287*.
This TV show is set 219 after the Great War making it 2296 by the events of Lucy leaving the Vault. So 19 years after Fallout 3 and 15 years after Fallout New Vegas.
Fallout 3 and Fallout 4 are set on the East Coast so in relation to this show alot of the lore and history comes from the first two games and New Both all three taking place on the West Coast.
I want to know what happened before 2161 and why it's all 1960s ?
In the fallout world transistors, a major part of modern electronics, never get invented, so that's why all the text looks so antique.@@Dndnerd591
@@Dndnerd591 They didn't invent microchips in that universe so some reason everything is 50's retrofuturistic. Cars even run on miniature nuclear energy
@@Dndnerd591 The in-game reason for it being 1960s-ish is that technology and culture diverged from the real world around the end of WWII . The real world reason is that the world of Fallout in 2077 is based on a 1950s-1960s pop culture idea of the future (like Disneyland's Tomorrowland attractions and the Jetsons).
@@Dndnerd591Lots of things happened before 2161, it's just a date when the first game in the franchise takes place. So a long time after the bombs, the radiation levels got somewhat better, some towns and factions were established and lots of radiated beasts had time to evolve.
"I've got a corpse in a wheelbarrow." lol
I never played any of the games or knew any of the lore before giving this show a try. It 100% has now engulfed my interest both the show and now the games. I can not wait for more reactions about this show from you guys :)
The church collection plate interlude music has me dying! lmao
"Some Enchanted Evening" for the WIN!!! You've been "carefully taught." Incredible.
Did y'all notice while editing that Dane is played by Xelia Mendes-Jones? They played Renna the Suldam in Wheel of Time S2! 🤯
Leslie Uggams playing Betty is Blind Al from the Deadpool movies. Nobody seems to recognize her without her Blind Al shades on...I guess that Superman disguise as Clark Kent really can work.
Another actor I recognized but couldn't remember where from. Thanks!
Also peep Zach Cherry, aka Klev the vlogger from Spider-Man and Shang Chi.
Reactors never recognizes black actors unless it's Denzel or something
ROOTS. She is famous from Roots in the 70s
@@ghostlee6434 And did YOU recognize her from Roots? I know her well so step back.
Patrolling the Mojave almost makes you wish for a nuclear winter
There is something in the air, and it is not the gamma radiation.
Outside of TLOU, this might be the greatest adaptation of a video game ever 🤯🤯🤯
And Arcane
“There’s a (razorblade) in my boot.”
That South Pacific response may be one of the greatest moments on this channel.
For those who haven’t noticed, Betty who sat in the middle seat after the 200 year titlecard aka the old brown hair lady on the council, is the same actress as Blind Al from the Deadpool movies. She did killer in this role to be honest.
It takes place 9 years after Fallout 4, 219 years after the Great War.
"Yo, dude. This ain't a Motel 6. There's a sink right over there."
This is the first vid I’ve ever watched from you guys but I’m begging for an “I got branded at the Olive Garden with Adam and Jay” tshirt
10:45
The way Adam smacks Jay on the arm while trying to remember that actress had me dying, lmao. Thought Jay was about to go flying across the room.
Lmao, Jay’s reaction when Adam got South Pacific right. 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Hell yeah, I JUST finished episode 5 and have been waiting to see your guy's take! It's kinda exactly what I had hoped. Weird, gory, dramatic, and fun [and I second the New Vegas recommend it's excellent and ties into this story at least tangentially]
Thats face when he hears about "Community wedding dress" and the weird awkward moment after that...
He must play a fallout game for more weird stuff like that.
The democracy coursing through my veins when Adam hit those notes
Finally. We've been praying to the content gods and cha boys answered!!
Just finished it last night, and it was fantastic.
Also, can we get a campaign going to get Adam to play Fallout 3/New Vegas/4 on the channel?
The facial journeys between you two this episode was hilarious. :P
As a fan of Jonathan Nolan's series Person Of Interest, I really look forward to watching the rest of the episodes. Also, Harold Finch and his dog are back.
The real Maud'Dib! The communal wedding dress. Both sweet and creepy at the same time. How many of the bridges kept it on while sexing it up for the first time? . . . . Great show! You guys are so fun to watch react. And indeed bow to Adam.
Awesome, Awesome, AWESOME SHOW!!! I'm SOOOOOO looking forward to the rest of y'all's reviews.
One of the things I appreciate most about this show is how they established, right off the bat, that Lucy has a wide variety of skills, both in and out of combat. Given that so many shows lately just create a 'BaDaSs GrRrLbOsS' character who's the bestest there ever was at everydamnthing, with no explanation, no backstory, and no common sense, it was genuinely refreshing to SEE Lucy demonstrate her skills, and SEE how she learned them.
That being said, I ALSO really appreciate that, when she was fighting Monty in their chamber, she didn't just go all Rey Palpatine and kick his ass, despite the clear difference in their size, strength, and, fight experience. Yes, she fought back, and yes she fought hard, but there's a BIG difference between being TRAINED TO FIGHT, and ACTUALLY BEING A FIGHTER.
Monty was a Raider. He probably fought for his life on a weekly, if not daily basis. He was bigger and stronger than Lucy, and he, realistically, was kicking her ass. It was only her quick thinking, and her never giving up, that allowed her to slice and dice him.
Incredible scene! Amazing character development!! And a classic example of SHOW, DONT TELL.
And that isn't even taking into account all the OTHER amazingness in the episode. :D
I am SO GLAD that this show got renewed for a second season. These folks are doing it RIGHT!!
For a second, Adam’s face looked like the guy who said “Niagara Falls “ in that Three Stooges short. 🤣
Kyle, in this show, TOTALLY makes up for ‘Showgirls’
25:45 yes, yes you should! Especially after seeing your reaction to the airship.
I love how all the fans recognize that Walton is using vats!
His movements scream of vats! love it!
F4 and F76 is great. They did SUCH a great job on this - world building 100%
The difference in facial expressions between the cut from Walton goggins’ character going inside for the cake and coming out with it is phenomenal
The set work and the costuming is pretty incredible.
Its actually rxcellent, yall are in for a HUGE treat with this.
The look of disgust on Adams face when he seen it was a community reused wedding dress 😂😂
Somehow the arbor day joke has me manically laughing for the last six minutes of thus video
This South Pacific moment I had to go back multiple times to rewatch from laughing so hard
After the Wheel of Time and Rings of Power debacles, it's so nice to see something I love adapted well.
Adam, a musical genius! So proud.
I semi choked on my cereal when Adam said South Pacific 😂
Yeah this series is REALLY making me want to replay the Fallout series. So far it is amazing!
8:16 having family or community heirlooms or tokens given to new couples is still fairly common IRL
Jumped into this show intending to watch the first few episodes and then do one a day. Ended up binging all 8 in the first 24 hours! Can't wait to see you guys watch this through!
I was so confused when you played your own music over the "red wedding" 😂
Adam is officially the Music Man
Fallout 3 is an incredible game but 4 is my favorite by far. The open world aspect of it is so much fun
Thanks, I've been waiting for your Fallout reaction for days! Thank you!
13:08 jay’s face when Adam got the right. Answer 😂😂
I was so anxiously awaiting this reaction! I dont know what it is but this show was made for the boys to react. Being a huge fallout fan i loved this show start to finish and i think you guys will too.
In a later episode they show an ad for the vault company with a conventional 10 digit phone number. YOU MUST CALL IT!! 😊
@marcs1951 You and I know that,...but
Brotherhood moved to the East Coast to DC, and in Fallout 4 they're sort of a "superpower" in America (aka, the giant airship in this episode).
Supposedly there are rumors that they already are looking into a Season 2.
"Leaks" about offers regarding reduced taxes should the production company decide to do most of their filming in certain locations.
The fact that this show is good, is a BLESSING! ❤ I am so so excited for the future for once! Truthfully I really am.
Nice! Glad to see you guys reacting to this, just some of my favourite friends who don't let friends watch TV alone!
I’m curious how they didn’t get evaporated; they weren’t that far away and it was a mushroom cloud. That burst glass with the wave
You say it early this feels like a game and i love it. They use even a stimpack and no explanation of what it is and how it works. just a game mechanic in a television series and it works.
The actor playing Maximus's friend (Dane) was Renna from The Wheel of Time
The power armor is modeled after the way they implemented it in Fallout 4.
This show was a lot of fun, and honestly better than I was expecting.
Also a friend worked on the show, and was one of the fabricaters that made the power armor, and I think the ghoul makeup. So that's always fun. lol
The Brotherhood of Steel was founded in CA. Fallout Tactics tells the story of them moving East. Fallout 3 tells the story of what they were doing in DC and why they came out.
The Enclave was founded on an oil platform off the coast of CA as well. The Enclave is the bad guys in Fallout 2 (The Master & Supermutants are the bad guy in Fallout). They attacked the village of The Vault Dweller.
The oh shit I don't have 1000 dollars face jay makes is priceless
God I'm so happy yall are covering this 😭
Aspirant Dane is Renna in Wheel of Time.
Hopping on over here after the Peaches’ Discord watchalong to watch the YT reaction now…
Never played the games, but I definitely liked this 😁
as someone who has played all the games for 1000s of hrs this show really make you want to play the games, is it perfect no is it awesome hell yes
I love the two different opinions.
"Aww they're sharing the same dress
Alright, we all need to band together and gofundme that $1,000 🤣
And just like that, Jay chose to never bet against Adam again… 😂 except perhaps on every other Tuesday.
The way I screamed for joy at South Pacific! 🎉😂
Thank you for watching this great series!
Actually, The Brotherhood of Steel originated from California and eventually made their way to the Capital Wasteland. In fact, the Brotherhood you meet in Fallout 3 are actually a splinter group that deviated from The Brotherhood's original mission of finding Pre-War tech to keep it from anyone that would misuse it in favor of taking care of the Super Mutant problem, which was odd to them because the only Super Mutants they knew of only came from California so finding them all the way in the East was troubling for them.
I think the maximus actor could be new kang.. He's good and has some range!
It was amusing seeing all the game references in play…not just the stuff.
The Bloody Mess Perk, the Small Frame Perk…the fact you give all your companions the gear to carry…
Man, Ella Purnell's characters seem to have to staple their wounds by contract (She's the voice of Jinx in Arcane)
Walton Goggins is good but that little girl totally sold me on her being terrified. Amazing child acting. Get her on ATLA
Came here for a TV reaction, was overjoyed for musical trivia time!
just wanna thank Adam or Jay or Whomever chose to put the piano keys in during the raid, rather than just have it be utter silence. We see you, and we love you ❤
11:48 Adam needs to watch the Red Wedding on the Game of Thrones show 😊
Okay, branded at the Olive Garden on Arbor Day made me subscribe
I'm SO glad you're doing this show! Also I do highly recommend playing Fallout 4. Super fun!
When Jay was explaining to Adam how the start of Fallout universe was technically the same as ours but society and science were different, he left out how after the nukes dropped it also became a lot like Idiocracy in some places. At least it's not a world populated by nobody except a bunch of angry Garys.
This is like an inverse of invincible where Jay knows more about the source material than Adam does
'Can't wear a hat correctly' should spoil more shit
I was so mature and didn’t get my hopes up for this show, and turns out that was wasted energy because it’s fking amazing
I also thought signing the dress was very sweet.
The passing down of a wedding dress used to be a common tradition in families.
