Chester, thank you for everything! I wish someone could have made this world better for you! You were here for such a short time but you touched so many damned peoples lives! I would have been dead many times from my own mind saying to kill myself but I would put on an album and listen to one last song that would end up being the whole album and I wouldn't be in the state to die then! It's all in he's songs. It must have been very painful for him. To feel all alone.left out. I still dont understand why though. He was always my first influence in music.
When you're in the throws of depression, you could be surrounded by friends and family and feel totally alone. Trust me.
@jasonmatkovich6342 Well, actually, he had said when he's with his band brothers, his family especially the kids, being with the fans, going to the gym and doing Philanthropy/humanitarian work that's when he's mostly alright. It's when he was alone is when he struggled because that's when he's left with his thoughts "the evil Chester" is what he called it when it tells him mean things.
Okay, I take that back seeing as you have credited me, better than what some other people have done. And too be honest, I think you did a good job editing all the different camera angles.

i feel sober.. there are times dat i ask god to take my life away.. just to end the pain in my head and in my soul. i'm a mentally challenged person.. i had a severe depression and i was diagnosed with a certain mental illness.. i don't want to be a burdain to my family for the rest of time...

Are you talking about the band or about some of the "fans". If talking about those "fans," yes, I agree. But if it's the band you're talking about, they were never jealous it was the exact opposite of that. They admired him not just with his range of vocals but also as a person and as a brother.
Mike definitely admired Chester the most and supported him with anything. Like with his side stuff with "Dead by Sunrise." Chester asked him and the band if it would be alright if he formed his own side band cause he had songs that he had written, but they weren't Linkin Park type songs. He told them that if it would be an issue at all, then he wouldn't do it. But, they told him to go for it, and Mike even told Chester if he ever needed any help at all with the production that he would be there for him if needed. Chester made sure that they knew that LP was still his #1 priority, and he always kept in communication with them so nothing would conflict with each other with the schedules of recording/making music videos and touring. At one of the festivals that Linkin Park was part of as one of the headlines, Mike was the one who told him to also have his band "Dead by Sunrise" to play there as well in the lineup. He also supported Chester when he was doing "Stone temple pilots" for a couple of years as another side thing.
- In the beginning it was during Hybrid the label wanted to get rid of Mike's rapping and have Chester as the face of the band as his. They even met Chester in secret and told him this. Chester basically told them to go f*ck yourselves and how it wasn't HIS band, He left that meeting and went to Mike and the guys right away and told them what had just happened and on what he said to them. That's was the moment that solidified their bond of knowing and trusting that all 6 members had each others backs.
Chester was the one who pushed Mike out of his comfort zone to also sing more than just doing the rap stuff so that way he could do both. Because he really loved Mike's singing voice. Mike once said that he couldn't believe that Chester of all people thought that he had a really good singing voice and loved his vocals and felt very honored by that. He considered Chester as one of the best vocalists of their time and that he would challenge anyone to try to sing against Chester, lol.
In one of the interviews that Mike did for their "OML" album, he mentioned he was doing less rapping and more singing. "I get to sing 7 days a week next to Chester, who is the best vocal coach." Then, instead of talking about how good he sounded on the album instead he tells them about how amazing Chester's was and how blown away they'll be when they hear his singing. Because not too many people (outside of the his bands, his family and some fans) really knew how soft and beautiful his singing vocals actually were.
- The whole band is basically a family they all hung out all the time outside of the band, but Mike and Chester were the closest. Mike was one of the ones who got through to Chester to get help with his sobriety. I think it was "Breaking the Habit," but Mike wrote the lyrics and showed it to Chester to give him that final nudge into wanting to get help, and when Chester read the lyrics, he just broke down and cried and it finally gave him that final courage to go into rehab and started therepy. Then that song became his #2 favorite of theirs to perform. Then at anytime if Mike seen that Chester was really struggling with depression and sobriety he was one of the ones that would pull Chester back from that ledge. Mikes wife Anna have dealt with depression her whole life since she was younger aswell and had a unstable home life due to her brother who had been in and out of prison for drug charges and a s*x offender. So with the depression side and who also had a unstable home environment she was one of the ones who also was also there for him. But, after everything with Chris they tried their best to help him but Chris really set him over that ledge.
When we lost Chester, it definitely hit the band hard, but it hit Mike the hardest. He didn't leave his house in weeks, sent phone calls straight to voice-mail, couldn't do anything with his art or make music because of how depressed he was after Chester's passing. The 1st song he wrote after those weeks had gone by was "looking for an answer." He performed it at the tribute concert in honor of Chester. When he played that song you can hear it in his throat he was struggling to get through the lyrics and right when he finished he just broke. Those lyrics alone tells you on what he was feeling after losing Chester. It's only on TH-cam as a live performance unreleased song. Then, he did the "Post Traumatic" that was his way of going through the grief process and it also helped A LOT of the fans who were struggling with their grief over Chester and anyone else they might have lost in their lives to show them that they weren't alone.

I’m sorry but with a few exceptions I can’t stand it when fans sing along! I want to HEAR the artist not a bunch of fans!!! There I said it!
Chester loved it when the fans sang with him, whether it's in a small setting like this or during a concert. He said it was one of the best joyous feelings that he had other then being with his kids and being able to play with his LP brothers
