Any chance you guys have recorded a video of how the F31 tailgate comes off? I have yet to see such a video on YT or even a walkthrough on the forums. Great production by the way.

Even though the BMW currently looks like the playdays bus, I find the transition from M4 to estate very impressive. There are other youtubers paying many pounds to other people to do this and taking all credit, and you're doing it all in-house yourself. It's a fantastic build, lads 🫨🫶

The u shaped clip that holds the joint where the metal brake line meets the rubber hose can be bent flat which then allows the toothed nut to drop down and be free. Same thing happened on my F82. Saves you having to cut the line. Also spiegler do amazing braided lines that have spinning nuts on the ends so when the 11mm nut gets seized on the brake line you avoid any issues

A pair of DRW 650 turbos would be a great way of future proofing it and eliminating the issue around the thrush washers on stock turbos. Check DRW Performance. Dave is a S55 guru

Cracking work as per lads.
Im doing similar at moment,not a touring but f80 m3 cat s mess into another f30 saloon.
Was going to cut the front subframe mounts out the m3 but looked them up after seeing vid and only £40 a side so aswell buying new .
I take it your m4 being an early one had the 3 bolt front strut top mounts? Mine is a 2016 lci so 5 bolt and x2 to drill out i think😂
Yes some things are just easier to order new saves trying to hack it out and yes 3 bolt I did see other people mentioning drilling out top mounts on the car and that explains it 👍
@richardstokes2209 mine isn't going to look like an m3 bodywise, it's actually just a sport line early 62 plate,plan is to fit m sport bumpers and skirts etc.
Only thing I'm looking at being trouble is the front end,m3 is longer than f30 and I think it can only be due to the amount of radiators up front ,the slam panel is different and even although front crash bar are all the same the deformation elements are longer.
Really hoping the bonnet bulge isn't to clear the charge cooler either as I want to run standard bonnet also.
@@leadingeesyes noticed it being longer at the front as the headlight bracket that fixes under the wing is about a inch to short so will have to use them off the m4 and I think bonnet bulge is just for looks

You might have to change the rear coil springs. Estates usually have a different spring to the coupe👍👍

At petrol stations I thought the fuel pumps are different from petrol to diesel so how you going to put petrol in the tank with diesel part filler neck
It’s only the bracket it’s the internals inside the filer neck that’s different you’re right the diesel pump nos his bigger then petrol so you can’t put diesel pump nos in a petrol car but you can put a petrol pump nos in a diesel car I know this as I have found out the hard way 🙈🤣

I do enjoy watching the challenges during the build and the banter and friction that comes along with it. After making such a major change to a car like this, how easy is it to get insurance? I’m guessing there’s specialist brokers out there that can help?

@@richardstokes2209 I didn’t life in Hinckley and started working for vw group with Ceva delivering the parts at night to the dealership/tps’s. I did a run down to bmw warehouse with cages to go somewhere in the uk to be delivered.
I’ve moved back down south to Kent as me and wife have family in East Sussex and West Sussex in 2015. I drive up to Dordon everyday Monday to Friday to get parts.
We moved up to Hinckley to work for a mate in his body shop/workshop doing everything.
