Happy SBS Day! Be on in a bit for comments. Thanks for being here.
Really enjoying this series. I'm going to be sad when you get to the end of the bible!
"Equal Parts Fascinating and Terrifying," should be the title of a chapter or section of the book. Don't forget the title of the book is supposed to be, "You Can't Have Your Faith and Eat It Too."
Thank you for SBS.
Well still 33 weeks left and the. The catholic books and apocrypha and gnostics and then im switching to deconstructing bible stories so lots and lots yet to do!
Yes!
Yahweh has this "This is gonna hurt me more than it hurts you" mentality.

When I have a conversation with Christians, they fall back to you just don't understand. To what I reply that is part of the problem. If this God wants us to find him should it not be easy for everyone to understand. Would that not make more sense.
God in Ezekiel 18:19-20: The son shall not bear the iniquity of the father.
God in Micah 1:14-16: I shall sell your prodigies, not excluding your juveniles, into slavery as retribution for your iniquities.
19 Yet say ye, Why? doth not the son bear the iniquity of the father? When the son hath done that which is lawful and right, and hath kept all my statutes, and hath done them, he shall surely live.
20 The soul that sinneth, it shall die. The son shall not bear the iniquity of the father, neither shall the father bear the iniquity of the son: the righteousness of the righteous shall be upon him, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon him.

I actually had this conversation WITH God I was like hey, so you were pissed that you made us for whatever reason, why not just come to us and stop all the religious BS❤
My favourite verse from Exodus: god is loving and merciful and forgives everything! But he also doesn't forgive anything and punished 3 and 4 generations
Right?! Its utterly insane.
Right. It’s sobering watching those who don’t believe in God , or they used to , where they try to understand the Bible in THIER own very limited human intellect . The Bible declares you must be born again of the Holy Spirit before you can even begin to comprehend the Bible with its vast Supernatural elements woven throughout the scriptures and to understand those elements, you must yield yourself to Gods higher intellect by conversing with Gods spirit , with your own spirit. God allows us to get glimpses, here and there to understand God from his perspective. You will never understand God from your own, very limited human perspective on your own. The Bible declares we all have a measure of Faith to respond to God with Romans 12v3 and we must utilize that measure of Faith to reach out to God. As we understand what Faith truly is we also must understand what Sin is and the consequences of dying from our sins if we choose not to turn to God for the forgiveness of our sins. Roman’s 3v2 For all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. You must ask that your sins be forgiven while at the same time reaching out to God by Faith and believing they will be forgiven. It’s what I did and millions and millions of others have done over the thousands of years since Christ came to die on the cross for our sins. Thy blood of thy Precious Jesus is the only way to be forgiven of your sins. And then ultimately you will be ready to be baptized in the Spirit of God and then you will begin to understand the greater depth of the things of God as well as understanding the Bible in a more personal way.
@@davidrexford586 that’s a very dangerous road to go down, telling people they cannot think for themselves, their brain is useless and they should just blindly follow what they’re told by men teaching this book. Cult like much? Yes. Repeat that sentiment but use another religion, put yourself in a none believers perspective (you actually are a none believer to other gods). Sounds a bit creepy right? Try another tactic to win souls because portraying god as a narcissist just doesn’t hit the way you want it too.
@davidrexford586 Okie, so by definition God is always good and anything that look problematic is explained away as beyond our grasp.
Starting from there I wonder two things. 1 How can a non-christian born person convert? If you approach any religious book with that mindset, then every religious book is right? So 2, why are you not giving the same excuse to Hinduism, Islam ...
Rashi explains He clears those who repent, but does not clear those who do not repent.
2:52 you nailed it Brandon I was told we are living in the last days. The world is so evil but then when we read this book, evil was there then and still is, nothing is new. Hahahaha
Exactly! Thank you
@tsebosei1285 I've following a few Catholic channels on YT and they all say we are very near to the "3 Days Of Darkness." And to get rid of certain things in your home, or buy blessed candles, or...or. But here's the rub: I first saw these "prophecies" (from some one named Padre Pio) back in September 2023. Specifically on the 27th. But it didn't happen, so they moved the goal posts: October, November, December, January, and now...TA-DA! February. And something was supposed to happen in January...stay inside! Hide! Pray! And yet those gullible followers keep posting all their silly remarks.
Christians love to say "end times" whenever they realise horrors of reality. It's like they want God to bail them out
Freaking love this secular Bible study!
So very glad to hear it. Thank you!
"What have I done to you? ANSWER ME!!" said the most abusive being in the history of the universe. Sucks that this sounds a lot like a lot of Christian parents.
It was just too insanely ironic.
An All knowing God wouldn't know this already?
@celticbabs3105 he wants to hear THEM say what he did. Either to hear their version and attack it, or
Well no. Just to attack. JHVH exists only to attack and deny access.
As you progress up the dangerous TH-cam ladder I hope you hang onto your roots. We are spoiled to have you. Thank you for taking your time to do this. Just don't let this come before your family xoxox
Appreciate that!

yes, and "But I digress." Please! Digress!
Same!!
Same, too!
Excellent. I love the part about rhetorical questions. How could God ask, "What have I done to you?" 🤣And then he demands answers. So, he's not really omniscient? He's angry and frustrated because he lacks knowledge? How is that possible? He needs to be informed by his disobedient creations? Preposterous rubbish. Great video. 👍

12:19 "You can make a religion out of this." - Bill Wurtz, 2017
Not much to say here, much like in other episodes, despite the incredible cultural and historic value of this literature, it really presents problems for modern believers who think these are univocal or “maximally moral” text, many of which do not mach up with many modern religious beliefs, much more when they represent moral challenges to the people who believe they always represent a good God.

I'm so glad!!
What a book. Thanks for your input. While I attended a Lutheran church I heard Micah preached a lot - especially the good parts. I don’t remember hearing about the bad parts. I’m sure the preachers were taught in seminary of what to emphasize and what to gloss over.
I like how God constantly brings up how he brought Israel out of Egypt many centuries after the fact. He's like the partner who won't shut up about the one time they did something nice twenty years ago. How does he expect the people centuries later to care? Is God so out of touch with what life is like for us mortals that he doesn't understand how distant something that happened centuries ago is for us?
Exactly!
That explains a lot, honestly. Both on why they're constantly bringing up things that happened basically ages ago, and also why such morals would be outdated. Because to a timeless being, it'd have been such a blink of an eye to them that they wouldn't have even considered changing their ways, despite their creation changing and evolving so much to a point where the mortals can now more easily think for themselves.
And of course, subsequently that means said deity would probably be completely unable or unwilling to change even if confronted, as to them it's like being okay with something in the morning only to hate it in the early afternoon, so probably not worth worshipping anyways, but yea.
People are prone to forget! The exodus from Egypt was a one-time, historic event that would never be repeated. Subsequent generations of Jews would need to learn that history lest they forget and begin to think and act as though God had not worked in their past (and was working in their present albeit in other ways, but still in faithfulness to his promises to them).
@@sdlorah6450 It's true people are prone to forget, but you can't forget that which you never experienced because it ocurred hundreds of years before you were born. My point is that in the OT, God's prophets are often reminding the Israelites about the Exodus as if it happened recently. Why should people still be grateful for something that was done for their distant ancestors as if it was yesterday?
@@sdlorah6450except the Exodus never happened! Even the Jews don't believe it!
The scientist created some robots that malfunctioned. So, he had to zap his perfectly good robot to keep HIMSELF from zapping the actual broken bad robots. He feels the urge to zap them for being created the broken way HE KEEPS creating them. Electrocuting the broken robots that HE created who don't trust him, and zapping them forever. Those dumb bad robots think he's a mad man for some reason. Keeping the bad robots plugged in downstairs. Dumping water and acid all over them. Watching them spin around in pain everyday. Melting them down to the wires, all day, everyday! FOREVER! Fully knowing he was gonna end up doing this to them the first day he put a screw driver in his hands to create them. "These robots I keep making, are SO BAD!!! And they owe me an apology for it".
I really want to hear a Christian's response to pointing out that mercy is a suspension of justice, so God can't be just and merciful.
When I was a Christian, I would've explained it like this: God's mercy shows when he refrains from instantly smiting a sinner at conception (or whenever the age of accountability is), and his justice is shown by his punishing Jesus on the cross.
@@5h0rgunn45 which then is classified as 'injustice'. But good you're aware now. 😊
He can be both

Hi Brandon, sorry I'm a day late. B'day yesterday,so had a day off from the Net. However, finally got this book God:An Anatomy so have started to read it Love your reconstructions & having been brought up by semi-agnostic parents and batshit crazy members of the clergy I begin to understand why the OT was used to 'prophesy' the coming of the Christian Messiah and why it took me 20+ years to realise that the Bible is a book. There's nothing holy about it, it's just a book of stories and sayings and poems, some very good ones, but they're stories! Okay, now I've bored you to tears just wanted to say many thanks for all you do. Can't wait for the NT!
Happy Bday! So glad you got the book! Its just amazing. Thanks for the kindness
Im excited for the New Testament. Ironically, as an ex-"Christian," I know very little about the New Testament. By the time I was able to actually think about religion, I was pretty much an atheist.
Thanks for a great series. I love the short cliff notes that cut the snooze fests from the Bible.
So glad to hear it! Thanks
I'm so glad you did "Beyond God's Borders" the other day. It gives so much more clarity to this one! Thanks!
Thanks, Maggie! Glad its all coming together
Yoval Harari in Homo Deus talks about how significant it was for a population to have a text in that day and also how the rabbis created Judaism in that way, by collecting writings. Their canon didn't precede the 1st century at all. It wasn't until the priest class had been eliminated when the temple was made a pile of rocks that the rabbis really took over.
What scoundrels the rabbis are!
Hey Brandon! Here’s a question for Christians:
Why did God endow us with a moral compass knowing this compass would lead us to believe many of his own actions are morally wrong😯?
Supposedly God is not the author of confusion (1 Corinthians 14:33 [NKJ]).
Hmm…
That's crazy because in the very first book, God (or the old pantheon, but they don't like to talk about it) confused the builders of Babel (Genesis 11:6-9) because, uhhh, it was afraid of human potential? It's not clear.
He didn't. He endowed us with the opportunity to pick that, OR eternal life and ignorance.
God's problem is this: He wants everyone to share his perception of himself, and will tolerate no takes which are not mindless repeats of his. Individual perspectives were allowed, for the sole purpose of him attacking them and saying how much better he is.
Not to mention the 2 "creation of humans" stories, the questions that come up when you ask how Adam and Eve's children procreated, and the two versions of the 10 commandments. To name just a few.

Great video! I love your passion!
Influences or reception:
I think Micah is quoting from Isaiah’s ploughshare verse. A Soviet sculpture was donated to the UN in 1959 of a man hammering a sword into a plough
With the engraving:
“They shall beat their swords into ploughshares, and their spears into pruning hooks; nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more."
Listening to your video, I remembered Tracy Chapman’s “ Why”:
“…love is hate, war is peace, no is yes…”
Thank you again
Appreciate all this!
You are really getting good at this. Appreciate your style and ability to both summarize and dive deep into this book that i thought i knew pretty well.
Very encouraging to hear. Thanks for the kind feedback!

Have you ever considered a call in type show where people like me who have been emotionally abused by the church can seek your advice?
Its coming! That was the whole reason for the studio build. I hope to launch it yet this month!
Hi Brandon, regarding your comments from 2:14 to 3:29, one of the most common themes of christian preachers in their sermons and writings is that the present generation is much more wicked and immoral that all previous generations and if we don't repent and drastically change our ways, god is going to bring this great nation (the US) to destruction. I am 71 years old and don't see any difference in people's morality from my earliest memories to the present. I am also a historian. When one studies history from primary sources, it is crystal clear that people from any generation are no better or worse than the people in any other generation. The only explanation I can think of is preachers attempt to intimidate and manipulate people into doing what is "right" by convincing them that they are worse than their ancestors. Please consider doing a presentation on this phenomenon with an analysis of what is behind it.
@18471902 We didn't know about it because there was very little media coverage; I'm referring to decades and centuries back.
It will make for a great video. Thanks!
@@johntiggleman4686Decades and centuries back there were books and parish records and other ways history was recorded in writing. There were also bards who went through 20 years of training, part of which was memorizing historical events in rhyme (a good memory-inducing device), which they would wander around the country telling and singing. Pictographs are another way events were recorded, as well as sculpture-- from cave art to the Egyptians, and in modified form to the present.
Media have always existed. They were just in different forms.

This was another excellent breakdown of Biblical literature. There is only one thing I can offer as a possible correction. Micah was probably not a contemporary of Jeremiah.
Micah was likely written just prior to the Assyrian invasion of Israel sometime between 765 bce and 721 bce. Jeremiah was likely written just after the Babylonian exile around 586 bce.
It is very difficult to date Micah because it was heavily redacted during the 2nd temple period 330 bce - 539 bce. Here we see a concerted effort to "whitewash" blood sacrifices of children and polytheism.
I'll for sure buy a copy of Equal Parts Fascinating and Terrifying! 😁 Also I'd love to see an episode about God recognizing magic like you referenced. Thanks again for all you do.

We can all agree that "the Bible" is a mess, and definitely not the words of God.
I still believe there is a god, albeit nothing is at all like the Bible describes it.
When speaking of all the issues with the Bible, it makes sense to refer to God, as .... "the god of the Bible" rather than just "god".
The depiction of God in the Bible is a gross misrepresentation, by men, of what a higher power would actually be.
It just sucks that we will only find out the truth of our existence when we die.

hi Brandon someone has said you can't deconstruct on your own now I haven't got anyone at all and can't afford counselling what can I do to heal
You absolutely can on your own. Theres a billion resources. Just keep learning!
Bottom line: you don’t HAVE to have a professional to tell you what you believe. My deconstruction is progressing quite rapidly through educating myself.
My de-conversion was almost exclusively on my own--brought about by intensely reading the Bible, attending Sunday School, and listening to sermons, and finally opening my eyes to what nonsense it all was! If you need assistance, however, there are support groups that can often be of tremendous benefit. Definitely check Alanon, which is for people living with all sorts of disfunction. There are lots of specialized support groups, including those for people who have problems with alcohol, drugs, and gambling, or who are in abusive relationships, among others. I have heard there are even support groups for people attempting to recover from religion! Ask a professional therapist for a list of support groups in your area and try out several. There are lots of TH-cam productions that are useful.
I deconstructed completely on my own. This was simply something no one talked about. Looked up things I questioned, careful of sources, looked at many sides, applied logic...then the emotional stuff - some tips:
-try not to run from religion and the damage it caused, rather walk forward with knowledge, awareness and free will, choosing what you want.
-look at the past from a safe vantage so you can recognize the damage calmly and work at repairing it
-recognize your indoctrinated responses (or PTSD), recognize what caused them, actively work at overcoming them
-for example, when someone says wow! Nice job! Instead of trivializing it because you feel unworthy, practice saying "Thanks!"
-as others here are saying, you aren't alone. Look, you're here at this terrific site and there are many resources to help people deal with overcoming the trauma or with breaking away - on the Net if you can't go to meetings.
-when you look ahead to plan your life and path, pause to look at your victories. It can be a long journey, but there's steady improvement.
-rejoice every time you feel unchained, even if it's for a moment. And dance, sing, it's not all work. :)

I have to wonder about Asherah. As Yahweh's wife, was she some sort of maternal counterbalance for his wrath and aggression? "Ward, I think you were a little bit hard on the Beaver." 😄 With the Yahwist prophets upturning her iconic and scriptural presence, we are left with an angry, abusive dad who can't be checked. Perhaps one can envision a scenario where Asherah divorces Yahweh, but leaves the kids at his mercy. Perhaps Yahweh does something more insidious to her? All I can think of is the Tori Amos song "God." "God sometimes you just don't come through / Do you need a woman to look after you?"
All the wives/partners in ancient mythology were technically all about sex/creation. The female deities were generally just as violent as the male.
@@robinette64 True. Deities like Inanna and Athena were nowhere as sweet and innocent as Shirley Temple. Reconsidering my point, Asherah was probably as wacky as her "ex-husband."

Your point about ill-treatment of the poor being a major issue from ancient times to today is apt - in many ways, it's unsurprising that Jesus, even considering the parousia, kind of gave up on that. I mean, if the poor are always going to be here but he won't, why not allow expensive indulgences for himself? Jesus' response to his anointing is pretty cruel and callous, and I was disturbed by it as a Christian (ever the practical, I guess I just wondered why it was so important to prepare a body that would be dead for less than 48 hours), but in a bleak way, it's kind of understandable.
Also, I liked your point about Micah calling out the other prophets and how that leads to uncertainty about who we should trust. It's the same issue as having multiple competing religious claims, even within a single religion. I remember not too long ago skimming through some of the New Testament epistles, and even this early in the church's history, everyone is whining about false teachers and antichrists. There's even some suggestion that James was written as a direct response to a Pauline (perhaps pseudo-Pauline?) perception of salvation. And we know from non-canonical literature that their opponents in now-heretical Christian groups were doing the exact same thing. And who had the best claims to authenticity? None of them, because, as with competing religions today, we have to take it on faith.
Love all this thoughtful feedback and response. Thank you!
Jesus is placed on the cross at the third hora (not hour) and this is the summer solstice. The lights go out at the sixth hora (autumn equinox) aka the crucifixion in Egypt. Dude, what about chapter 6 verses 7 thru 9... I just watched a video by Dr. Kipp about this and I think it should be addressed, it shows that child sacrifice was a real thing at one time and was later covered up by stating what an abomination it is, but that part in Ezekiel about giving them laws they couldn't obey so that God may horrify them, makes it pretty clear what's going on.

Perhaps at some point you could do a breakdown of a video from Roadshow Apologetics. I'm not trying to instigate an "atheist owns Christian" sort of thing, but he has a sizable audience and makes some pretty faulty arguments directed at atheism, making it easy for questioning Christians to buy into the bible without deeper consideration. I don't believe anyone has challenged his arguments before, but it could be productive.

That would definitely be a great name for your book. Question though, why say that its likely to be from 800 BCE? From what ive learned recently, there really is nothing to prove that any of the old testament was canonized prior to 300 BCE. Mythvision did a few videos on that topic
It could be from the original languages use of syntax, grammer, descriptions used, and any other number of linguistic clues. Even if it's not canonized, some parts existed long before it was put together.
Yes the actual true compiling of most books, edits, redactions etc was most likely during or post exile. But this core book mentions when it was written and seems to be very consistent with the cities, kings etc of that time. Could always be wrong but good reason to believe someone going by the name of Micah lived at this time and wrote some stuff down even if his official book was brought together later
Just to clarify two things for you. Brandon said "8th century bce" which is 700's bce not 800's bce.
Secondly, the Hebrew Bible was likely not canonized prior to 250 bce - 300 bce but the individual texts are much older than the time the religious leaders collected them into a "canon".
Micah is difficult to date accurately because we see internal evidence that the original text was heavily redacted. However, the oldest events mentioned would be referencing the split Nation of Israel and Judah just prior to the Assyrian invasion of Israel. So sometime between 721 bce - 765 bce (8th century bce).
@@ObjectiveEthics yes thank you for clarifying the dates however, there are no texts from what I have learned, in original Hebrew prior to 300 either so up until then, just stories passed down from the previous generation.
@@jonnyblaze2692 For the most part that is true. The oldest complete Biblical texts we have are the Dead Sea scrolls (250 bce - 70 ce).
However, the oldest text fragment is the Ketef Hinnom scrolls from 600 bce. I believe most qualified scholars don't think we are at the point of oral tradition until the 2nd millenia bce.
I think most historians that I know of date the entire corpus of the Hebrew Bible to have been written between 800 bce and 70 ce with the first major redaction during the 2nd temple period.

Fantastic Brandon! I love this series. Thank you.
On a gernal note, I am constantly reflecting on why my emotions rise upon hearing the Christain defense of the countless examples of verses (and other topic) where God is obviously not representative of All Good, All Power, & All Knowning. I walked my feelings back to believe that the human emotion that occurs when being 'Gas-lit' by others on topics that seem overtly obvious to any rationale human being. When Christians do this, it feels like they are out-right lieing, know they're lieing, expects us to believe their lie, and then get's mad when we don't concede to their lie. Why would a person, especially one with supposed 'Christian Values', behave this way?. I'm convinced myself it is not for an evil purpose. It's not because of lack of intelligence. So why then? I'm thinking it is die tp the unbelievable power of childhood indoctrination! It really does take good, sane, and otherwise intelligent people and forces them to defend undefensable positions at all cost! They fight with fury to defend absurdities that for any other, non-religous, topic they would walk hand-in-hand with me to admit that what they're defending is ridiculous! Their brains are just so rigid, nothing will penetrate their barriers to accept new information and even 'try' to think whether what their claiming makes sense.
So yeah, I need personal growth to not let my emotions rise. But if it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck It get's to me to be forced to reflect their claim it's a horse.

There is only one way I could see Christianity as true, and that is if we are currently in Hell. And the softy interpretation of it where hell is an "absence of God".
Nothing changes, suffering persists and people are given false hope instead of working together to fix it, and God is nowhere to be found.
Every prophet is false, and every book is a fairy tale. Sometimes I think that in such a world, being a believer is the worst position to be in.
A smal insight regarding the "list of bad things" at 2:20.
To your question, why does God not punish the nations today if we're so much worse than they were back in Sodom/Gomorrah or in Noah's time, the excuse I was taught in Bible college was that we are in a different dispensation of the Holy Spirit-God is still the same in character but there are things he does differently now because he has established periods in which, because of the movements of the Holy Spirit, he is silent in some ways and vocal in others. I think they'd say he's more vocal now than ever because we've got the revelation through Jesus. Of course, I see in hindsight this is FauxScholarSpeak to cover up the fact that the immutable God has certainly changed, but that's really hard to express especially to other Christians. Have you read anything on that/thought much about that defense Christians put up?
If you do not see the punishment already than you are completely blind

The only thing that I can comment on without being repetitive in the comments, is the view on Israeli slavery vs traditional slavery or at least how I see it. The Israelites had laws for the slaves they owned. They couldn’t have bought them so they had to be prisoners of war, they had to include their families and property, they had to take care of them as if they were in the family, and on their 7th year they are to be given freedom and the chance to become an Israeli citizen. As opposed to the traditional slavery that was forced gruesome labor and oppression. Where people were treated as property instead of humans like the rest of us. I believe that the laws that were in place concerning slavery really explain what it meant to them compared to what they went through. It was bad enough that they had to get their own laws about what they had to do and what they couldn’t do. All while the surrounding areas didn’t have any laws concerning it. But that’s just how I see it.
Could you elaborate on some-all these other messiah characters, besides the teacher.
My little brother loves saying Jesus is the one and only Christ like it’s an exclusive title, and when I point out that it just means anointed one in Greek, and it’s Hebrew comparative is messiah which means anointed, he says I’m pulling it out of context. I also pointed out that damn near anyone wealthy enough would anoint themselves for the assumed health benefits at the time, that’s it’s not always a religious thing.
i think i'll just need to make a whole video on it. thanks!
Iah (biblical) = IU Piter (Jupiter). Messiah can be written as Mes (son of) and Iah (Jupiter). The messiah has always been the spring sun that brings forth new crop growth. Note where the 7th son of "Jacob" is called Gad. Gad (sign of the ram) is a copy of the Latin Fortuna. Check out who is the "father" of Latin Fortuna. The O.T. mother of Gad, is the spring equinox.

Have you done a video on magic yet? I personally struggle with why it is real and yet most Christians claim it isn't real/devil's work. And yet, we can perform it with practice and gifts from "creation". Maybe what we can perform comes from the fact that he made us in his image, therefore making us godlike (yet in contradiction when Adam and Eve are from the tree of Knowledge the Lord prevented them from eating from the tree of life so that way they wouldn't become like gods)?
What do you mean by magic? If you mean like magicians in magic shows, those are sleigh of hand tricks. If you mean stuff like horoscopes, mediumship, divination and such, those haven't been demonstrated to work.
@@AXKfUN9m I meant the latter, obviously, and not the former. I also speak of destruction spells, healing work, etc.
Well, to me magic exists -- I have used it to create changes in my life, including physical changes, and so have many others. I see magic in nature all the time, and I'm okay with that if it's just labeled "something science hasn't discovered yet".
The problems arise when, instead of seeing the magic potential in all things, magic has to have an "only by the Abrahamic god in the way that god says or it's evil" TM. And then there's also mythology, which is what a lot of the stories we tell ourselves are, including religious stories. Mythology gives hints about magic and where and how we might connect with it, but it's not magical in itself.

If anyone wants to truly see if God exists or not, put Him to an honest test.
Better still, provide actual evidence it exists.
I trusted in Jesus for decades. Only when I started to trust my own mind and the scientific method did things start to improve and become reliable, with predictive value.
Also, the Bible says not to put God to the test. You say a lot of things that sound nice about Christianity, but are actually contradictory to the Bible. Jesus' response is from Deuteronomy 6:16-25. He says, "again it is written, 'do not put the LORD your God to the test.'"
It's a bait and switch to present all these nice ideas about God and religion that don't match the holy text that's assigned to Christianity. You're presenting a different religion that you made up, not Christianity.

Deuteronomy 6:16 "Ye shall not tempt the Lord, your God, as ye tempted him in Massah."
Matthew 4:3 "And when the tempter came to him"
Matthew 4:7 "Thou shalt not tempt the Lord, thy God."
1 John 4:1 "do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God,"

Hmm do you truly want to find God?
If so, why are your methods of doing so corrupt?
You know man like me makes mistakes, so, why trust my words as proof?
Go and ask of God and you will have unmistakable proof.
@@theriveroffaith852 who said my methods are corrupt??? That's strange. Fifty years of following god in sincerity and untold amounts of study, memorisation, obedience and prayer ended when l *searched for evidence to prove god and found none* ...By the way, l was not looking to disprove god, but confirm him, along with my beliefs. However, there is *no evidence* at all. The more l searched the more l found it is all lies and fake claims. Not my fault there is no evidence! I researched for two solid years!!
