Uni knot has been my go to for a bit. ... Recently got introduced through a fellow angler to the "Yucatan Knot". Even faster and it goes thru your guides a bit smoother 👍
I prefer the FG knot for fishing. I use double uni for mono backing under main braid. In Tampa area. Caught 10 trout a snook and lady pre storm fishing. NLBN 3 inch paddle tail. Hunkering down to ride out storm. 🙏to all of our West Coast people.
Well done. Used the double Uni for 30 years and still continue to use it. Now, I've been using the FG Knot for the last year or so. I find it goes through the guides much better, but it's definitely harder to tie. Be safe out there with this storm. I'm afraid Estero is going to change a lot after this one.
I have used the uni to uni knot ever since Vic Dunaway introduced it in Florida Sportsman back in the 1970s. However, I switched to the FG knot in the last few years if I have time to tie one up the night before. The advantage being that you can easily cast it through the guides with little friction giving you the ability to start off with a 6.5 foot leader. Usually this gives me a whole day of fishing and cutting back after multiple snook without having to retie the leader to line knot. It does take time to tie correctly to withstand up to the 1,000 casts a day I sometimes make. However, when you are on a paddleboard and you don’t need to retie your line to leader connection on the water it is a big plus. If I do retie on the water or at night, it’s usually the uni to uni knot due to its simplicity, speed and strength. But it’s usually a 30” leader in this case. Stay safe everybody! This Milton storm is horrific.
Well done Christian...Great knot!!
Thank you!
Been using uni to uni for 20 years, never fails, sometimes to change it up I’ll do an albright just for the hell of it.
I feel that

Yep. I think so too. Not looking great unfortunately
@@christian_masterson I was out there Saturday morning. Caught a few, nothing big. I'm hoping the ramp stays intact, but expecting the worse.
@@ernie_diaz3680 the fishing has been tough lately. I think it’s due to water temp

That’s actually a very smart idea that I may take up. Thanks
I love this!
