Your suggestions are so helpful! I’m now continually making decodable texts for tutoring at-risk children 1st-8th grade, catered to each of their specific holes in phonics. I’m trying to incorporate your suggestions and teaching tutors how to use the texts well. Keep your suggestions (and great texts) coming!

Do you currently use decodable texts with your students? Would love to hear about that in the comments!

They are all from my TpT store - www.teacherspayteachers.com/Store/Learning-At-The-Primary-Pond-Alison/Category/Decodable-Books-amp-Passages-505219

What about 1st graders who are bored and not focusing on words?

I would really take a look at why they're bored - could the text be too easy or difficult? Or maybe the text topic isn't engaging?
