Will The iRobot J7 J7+ Robot Vacuum - REALLY Avoid Dog POOP?

I'm sure everyone will obsess over the P.O.O.P. performance, but what I was really impressed by was the dangly cord chase test at 7:07. That showed that the robot has not only a very consistent ability to identify blacklisted objects, regardless of orientation, but also a clear idea of how close it can get without disaster striking.

Adam, I have 2 dogs and they very seldom have accidents in the house. However, I've never dared run my robots when I was out of the house just in case. This is a real game changer for me! Thanks for doing this REAL test!!

Yes this robot will be great for people with dogs. Probably will not have to worry anymore and run it while your out!

Thanks for the video. I just picked up the j7+. I feel better seeing this video that the robot should avoid the few obstacles I’m concerned with. Luckily our house is never 100% dark as each of our rooms have a few outlets with led lights shining on the floor. Thanks for the update.

5:55 the blue light indicates it has found a keep out zone. When the j7 sees poop or cables it creates a temporary keep out zone. Every time the robot gets close to that keep out zone the light would turn blue.

So this one has better object avoidance than the irobot roomba S9, but does not mop correct? I don‘t know yet but I feel as it cannot beat the roborock S7. Has anybody made already any experience about that?

  • @djtommy1864

Ya he has to go poop right at the end of the video to leave you to pick up the poop. Nice timing lol Great video Adam. I was happy to see this because I saw another guys video on avoiding objects and it hit pretty much everything . I guess the guy had everything turned off or just wanted to make Irobot look bad . Im curious . Would it be able to see a business card on the floor ? Not a big deal if it does run it over but it would be amazing if it would avoid it.

I'm curious if it can avoid spills. It's pretty impressive. I almost want to return my i7 but unfortunately the timing is terrible. I don't want to return something that is working well for me (to the point it's almost like my house vaccums itself for something that hasn't been released very long particularly with the price being $200 higher than what I paid. I'll just wait and see what they can do when it's time to retire the i7.

My wife constantly leaves these cords dangling on the floor. My upright has torn more charging tips than I can remember. My J7 arrives today so I’m gonna vacuum and mop before it gets here and I’ll use it to maintain the floors clean, but I’m sure I will still be using my upright during my weekly cleaning, unless this thing really impresses me.
