Pharmacoengineering

Investigators at UNC-Chapel Hill and NC State are pioneering efforts in the new field of pharmacoengineering - the marriage of pharmaceutical sciences with state-of-the-art engineering. They will collaborate to develop novel solutions to difficult challenges in bringing therapeutic drug-delivery technologies to patients.
This video will give just a small snapshot of the pharmacoengineering research that is taking place in North Carolina. It describes a new way to treat cancer that starts with a patient’s own skin cells and ultimately creates chemotherapeutic-releasing cells that can be delivered to a brain cancer tumor site.
