my problem is more like 4* are just 3* with a bigger passive and stats on most cases
I agree. One example I can think of is Undying Flame and Pistols of Night; Both grants bonuses when doing Intro skills, and the only difference is that one grants bonus for Skill DMG and the other for ATK DMG. Not much of an upgrade

That is why you use all of the free beginner Lustrous Tide (the green token) for standard weapon banner. Especially since Kuro already gave us the free ticket for initial 5 star character.

@@xxx-lq7ho Terrible noob trap. Sac sword is pretty bad on Xingqiu, fav is the way. In general in most cases sac weapons are not very good. They have their uses of course, like on Kazuha for more grouping and triggering more reactions / filling on-field time in teams without on-fielder. As for 'Fork" - nahh, it's too generous to tell it fixed her energy needs. She's still pretty problematic with this small additional ER and not rarely it's better to go with fav on her too. Just you won't see it from DPS calculations, since by design they are made in theoretical void and not rarely are simply misleading.
If you’re F2P it is VERY advised for you to pull lim weaps of each type asap. So even if ur units r not the strongest, the weap could easily carry your account progression. In turn, you tackle toa more consistently, and get astrites to save up for your next awaited char. The downside of this is that you need to skip for every char until 1.2 or 1.3 unless ur lucky ofc.

Agreed. On the brightside the 5 star are shareable with 100% rate. On the bad side. You have to get at least one of each type of weapon to be a little bit comfortable.
And the material needed to upgrade it is a LOT.

5* weapons are more expensive than the characters themselves
That Jinzhou Keeper situation is so real, I have a Commando of Conviction and Lunar cutter sitting on the inventory at lv60, Benched after getting the 5s standard sword. Now I'm torn if I should just feed them to get some of the resources back at least or keep them for future characters(cope).💀

Keep them. Give them to Yangyang or Sanhua. My Encore still use Jinzhou Keeper and is still doing good damage, although not optimal.
The thing is sometimes you have to run two characters of the same weapon type so don't get rid of them. Our current roster is not necessarily large enough to have spread out weapon types on teams. For example if you are building Xiangli Yao and you do not have Yinlin you should run Jianxin if you have her. This is because Jianxin is the only non limited character that buffs resonance liberation damage at the moment. This would mean you are running two guantlet characters on one team. I have the Commando of Conviction on Sanhua and the emerald of genesis on Rover on the same team.
I think this is why they have a split currency with a different ticket for the rate up weapons. Since they can give those away, and they refresh for the shop pity currency shop. Trying to break people of their genshin habits of never wanting to pull on weapon banners due to the rng over there.
Yeah, the moment they decided to gives guarantee for weapon banner, i decide to pull for limited weapon, unlike in GI you have to lose twice to get the guarantee 🗿

@@yoru_a2b3 No bro it doesn't, i pulled for jiyan's weapon and was on around 40 pity, and when on yinlin's banner, i checked my pity and it was still 40, when i pull for her weapon, i got it in around 35 pulls means at 75th pull. So ya it doesn't resets.

My opinion on this is that while all of these are true, we do have enough "carrots" to make up for it and more. We can choose the standard weapon to work towards for our dpses, and we will never get a 5* weapon we don't want. These are insane benefits. And it will only be more insane the more we play. Making said 5* weapons more accessible than I've ever seen. Which, i think more than makes up for it.
Terrible take. The standard 5* weapons are terrible for most chars bc of how specific everything is. The “benefits” of the weapon banner guarantee are IMMEDIATELY negated by the fact that you almost HAVE to pull for it because no other weapon you have does anything besides function as a stat stick for them. And that will get WORSE as the game progresses, not better. Because even when you do finally have enough pulls to snag the weapon, it’s ONLY going to be good for its character. Because no one else is going to benefit from the “gain 274787576387% dmg buff for .02 seconds every other 0.5 seconds when you chew gum and clap at the same time” buff it provides.
Truth is you guys are being blinded by the carrots, they’re piling up and you’re going to drown in them.
@@Kota-sk8slokay chill down here, with changli release, we see that standard 5*'s can work almost the same as signatures, with changli's signature being ~10% DPS increase. Also it shows that this "issue" is not gonna get worse that much.
It's not a game where you need to squeeze every % from everything. You can clear all content with unoptimized characters, teams AND EVEN with one character. All you need is a bit of skill.
@@Kota-sk8slmost signatures are a 10% damage increase at most. xiangli yaos is 20% but he’s free, similar to ratio in hsr. the standard five stars with crit stats as well as any limited ones you pull are good stat sticks. all content in the game can be beaten with four star weapons, let alone five stars. it helps that wuwa is a lot more skill dependent than just a dps check

I just saw a guy who cleared Lvl 100 Heron in tower on 3* with Lvl 80 Changli and Commando of Conviction. He pulled it off with like, a second left on the clock.
Honestly Idk if I should be impressed by the fact that it's possible or baffled by how wide of a gap it is between a Rank 5 4-star weapon and a Rank 1 5-star one.
Did he rank up the weapon and characters feeding them copies? That makes quite the difference. Did his echo stats look like something you can only dream of getting?
Must have worked extremely hard or had extreme luck.
I assume he did not get all tower rewards which people want. You can clear the game, but not earn all rewards. People want to complete the game.

@@TheXander2004 You can't just rely on standard weapon, If you pulling some limited weapon, You should have 2-3 weapon already, and you can get rest of weapon type around less or more than 6 months, you need 3 team anyway.

I think the "weapon drought" has been resolved if a lot of players know how to manage their convene resources. Only pull for standard weapons if you have Lustrous Tides. Sig weapons are better of course, but 5* standard weapons are also good.
A 4* weapon with crit rate/crit dmg would be welcomed tho. Heck, if they even create a weapon with "resonance skill/liberation" or "particular element" as a substat, that would be good as 44111 can be viable. Majority of 4* weapons either have ATK, DEF, HP, ENERGY REGEN as a substat for f2p 4*.
I regret using 66 lustrous tides on standard character banner to get more characters but ended up with dupe Calcharo. My judgement said do it on the weapon banner but saw someone said do it on the character banner instead so I listen to them, big mistake. This was before the free selector happen. I could have gotten 1 standard weapon that I could use. To make up for it, I ended up getting Changli's weapon, even if the upgrade isn't that much but it is how it is.
From now on, in every early gacha games, I am using my own judgement. Everyone is a new player, I will take their suggestion with a grain of salt.
@@Regulus37big L, I also got verina dupe from jinhsi banner whom I selected from selector banner. But I have 2 standard 5* and 1 limited 5* weapon. If you manage ur convenes properly, you can try getting cr/cd 5*s of each type as 1.2 is filler patch with avg characters.

For now I'm focusing on getting a 5* with crit rate main stat of each type as you said, we only need a gauntlet now which supposedly comes next patch. I've got both BPs at the highest tier which comes with a generic dupe for BP weapons and didn't use either the weapon boxes or the dupe items cause I don't have any use for them lol

Came to this conclusion as well- I'm looking at new 5-stars characters through their weapons. It's almost a mistake not to pull a signature weapon if it's a massive upgrade over anything else available. Building my account around Emerald Sword and Stringless at the moment and might be skipping Changli just so I have enough currency stockpiled for the next 5-star combo.

That's a good take, I was lucky enough to get both changli and her weapon but if I didn't save for changli and gone all in for jinhsi I would have got a jinhsi weapon instead which I main rn. That jinhsi weapon is super strong which gives 60% DMG bonus in passive for jinhsi
I think the point that says it all is that 4 star weapons provide good support / sub dps (if said sub dps is a buffer) options.
Same can be said with 4 star characters, currently almost none of them (except maybe Danjin?) is close to 5 star characters when it comes to being a main dps.
4 star weapons are like 4 star characters, they provide cheap options to fill your team while most of your resource go into funding your 5 star main dps with his 5 star weapon.
As f2p I'm suffering because f2p weapons is so bad not like HSR Thay give a good 4 stars lightcons

The 4 star weapon situation is like this because there's no 50/50 for weapon banner, it's guaranteed. If the argument is f2p doesn't have enough pulls to get s0r1, the point is you're not supposed to have enough for the r1 as f2p. The game caters to lunite subscription buyers since they're the baseline. Linite subscribers easily have enough for s0r1 if they don't impulse buy
LOL not, even with sub and BP you not gonna have enough pulls to get hero and weapon. Or you skipping characters, which literally the whole point of playing the gacha games.
In no gacha game except pgr you can get all new characters, skipping one character for 2 weapons is a good deal

I think it's fair. I'm patiently saving enough pulls to get S0R1 anyway so I'm skipping banners in b/w. If I lose 50/50 then I'll just get the weapon instead, if it is a solid option for someone else I like, or just skip to next banner so that I can get both the character and weapon guaranteed.

Though in Genshin you can settle for 4* and 3* weapons unlike WuWa. Coming from Genshin, one can see why this seems unfair.
They were spoiled by Genshin. It is more fair with 4* weapons, but I suppose at the cost of good new 4* characters which WuWa wont ever get I suppose.
Well if you lose 50/50 why not just skip weapon banner and try getting S0R1 of next character you like. As BIS gives 15-25% boost to DMG over 5* standard banner weapons.
That's why I don't increase world level. I'll do it when my exploration hits 90%
Ironically, a problem this game has that Hoyo games don't is that the craftables are genuinely not useful. There's no Fav or DDD equivalent in this game. I'm not saying you want an OP weapon without consequence, but the lack of decent base weapons for DPS units outside of their signature/standard banner equivalent is concerning.
As more weapons come along, more options might appear, but I had a feeling with the weapon banners being guaranteed that Kuro made it that way so you'd feel inclined to pull. I get it. Gacha games want your money, so I've come to terms with swiping on the weapon banner at my discretion. Lol That being said, there could at least be more options like Variation with Verina. The gap between the gacha/BP weapons and craftables is big enough to notice a substantial difference.

I mean almost every craftable weapon is bad in Genshin. Fav and DDD aren’t even craftable lmao. Even their standard weapons are dog shit. While yes, Genshin’s F2P options are better, overtime, WuWa has better investment for the long run since it is much easier to get 5 star weapons in this game than Genshin. But I absolutely agree that the 4 stars are definitely a bit under tuned, especially with copies. They could atleast make them craftable if they’re going to be purposefully bad.

@@TacticalDimples Nice you corrected about favs, they are only from gacha. No idea what DDD is. It's worth to mention that refinements - getting more copies is pretty important too. So it's quite harsh, especially considering increasing number of 4*s.
As for the rest about weapons in Genshin you are misleading terribly. Half of 5* standard weapons is very good, there are cases they are simply BiS. From craftable weapons about 1/3 is really good, plus you have a few top valuable items like Hakushin Ring for electro teams or Prototype Amber. Lastly, gap between stats of 4* and 5* weapons is way smaller than in WuWa. 4*s aren't even worse per se, they still can compete with 5*s if they have good passives and especially if you level them up with their copies. It's very valuable for the account to have a few 5* crit weapons for those stats, to help with builds and that's it. Getting more brings you very little. It's exactly the opposite what you are saying, signatures are not that valuable in Genshin.
WuWa many things did better, but here it's not the case. It's not good that 4* weapons are practically just bad. Doesn't even matter if free, craftable or gacha. What is even the point of them in the game then?? Genshin with more complex system, with good and great craftable weapons, with fav, sac, Catch, etc is better.
The 4* Defense Broadblade and the 4* Health Rectifier are both excellent options for specific characters (Taoqi and Baizhi respectively) that'll remain evergreen unless directly power crept by a limited signature weapon.
The concerto passive weapons will always be useful for quick swapping shenanigans, but the main stat issue isn't as big as you'd think it is.
Every echo universally wants double crit rolls, or else it's a brick that'll be replaced later. Even missing one of the substats an Echo needs in early tuning will make it unusable or just not worth investing all the way to +25. With the potential of having substat reroll items in 1.2 it'll be less of a problem to have 4* weapons since selecting for high rolled substats will be far easier (hopefully Kuro will allow players to farm some kind of way to maximise or reroll substat values as well).

These issues with the 4* weapons are balanced out by the 5* limited guaranteed and standard weapon selector banners and battle pass.
Players specially f2p's should always only use their Lustrous tides in the standard weapon banner and selecting the weapon type they need and save up forging tides for any limited weapon banner that is totally OP
The issue is that other than the sword and the gun they didnt add crit in any of the standard 5 stars
@@allenwalker4703 while true, people underestimate %atk, as it catches up with higher character level and weapon level. Also, you'll never know what synergies come up. Look at Zhezhi's kit and how despite the %atk substat, the standard 5 star rect passive is perfect for her, if you missed Yinlin's sig or don't have a 5 star rect. at all. Zhehzi's sig is highly specific and she is a sub dps, so most people aren't too keen investing in her sig, I feel.
@@allenwalker4703in WuWa you only need around 60% crit date on DPSes as this game is not nuke-focused but on optimum rotations. You get 22% cr from 4 cost echo, 8.4% cr from talents, so you only have to roll 3-4 echoes into cr which is possible as the game progresses and you can also use 44111 echo set for better cr cd management. Tbh appropriate skill DMG bonuses are more uncommon in echoes. And sig weapons are miles ahead of standard banner weapons e.g. jinhsi weapon gives 60% DMG bonus which is equal to 2 element DMG bonus echoes at Lvl 25. So it is better to save your pulls for weapon banner too.

I agree but also see the other side. Because weapons are so shareable in wuwa, yes the 4 stars are bad but you pretty much only need 5 weapons, 1 of each type. You get the sword and gun from standard (for free btw), and then something from BP (I know it’s not f2p but still I’m bp and weekly only). So then my strat is I only need 2 limited weapons to complete a full roster, AND they are guaranteed. So yes the 4 stars are bad but it still feels way easier to invest in my weapons than any hoyoverse game imo. Personally I went for Jinshi’s weapon, and then will likely get a rectifier I can share. I feel very good in highest endgame already so I don’t feel forced to pull more signatures and can save for characters :)
So people in the comments are trying to justfy it with "Our weapon banner is better, so its okay if 4 stars are basically unusable". Which is sad af.
I'm saving my standard banner pulls for weapons, seeing how failing 50/50s will eventually get me all the standard characters lol.
yup, as people were praising the 'generosity' of Kuro I could tell from the start what it meant. 5 star weapons aren't really optional. If you pull a limited 5 star character, you best pull their weapon, or they gonna be gimped af. the limited 5 star weapons are baseline for the character. it's gacha, they determine what you need for a character to be good/viable, and they ensure that over time the resources they give for free will be inadequate to reach that power level, at least in the short term. buying bp/monthly asterites will usually be the baseline, and extra top ups will be for those who want to whale, or have somehow mismanaged their resources in some way along the line.
then there's power creep. generosity in resources will often indicate a more aggressive power creep, necessitating players to upgrade their roster at a more regular pace. We'll see what it looks like in the longer term. I'm half ready to bet that by 2.0 almost none of the 1.0 chars remain viable in endgame.
Yeah, the amount of glazing going on with the WB is ridiculous. It's not so bad because the game just came out, but it will get worse over time. I fear that later down the line, Kuro will cut major parts of a character's kit and split them with both the dupes and weapon passive.
I honestly feel like Kuro isn't generous. They are just smarter in getting you to spend more money. They saw how people reacted with Genshin's banner, and they found another way that isn't in your face with how bad it is. It is just more subtle. I really hope I'm wrong, though.
@@crash10310 for sure you're not wrong. it's gacha. gacha is all about giving less free currency than you want and/or need to complete their content comfortably (or in a short time span). their game design thus far clearly is balanced around having 5 star weapons for the dps checks. thus the 'easier' to get weapons are far less optional than the ones in genshin. their generosity with the limited 5 stars at the start all but guarantees they'll be powercrept to oblivion by 2.0. I don't hate on any gacha creator for this, it's the biz model. But i'm not gonna kiss their ass for 'generosity' either when they offset the generosity by other factors in the game.
Genshin players are a particular breed of gacha gamer that thinks the quantity of characters/weapons/items given equate to a more consumer friendly product. That's a fallacy. Genshin is stingy because their characters are often viable for much longer, and you need less of them for the content. When you need more weapons, more characters then you'll need more currency, so 'generosity' isn't the same game to game. if genshin gave out as much as wuwa does and had its weapon system every f2p player would be 36 starring with ease in just a couple patches and it would have died for being far faaar too easy ages ago. people complain it's easy as it is. Then if they DID change the weapon banner style you can guarantee that would be met with a massive difficulty spike to justify it.

Fortunately, the guns and the 1h sword from the standard weapon banner are alright. That means for most players they only need to get a good 2h Sword, Amplifier and Fists.
Im skipping Yinlin's weapon thinking its better to get limited char first. But what i got is stress, building up pity to 160 for Jinhsi, and very poor crit rate later for Encore 😢

I believe at some point we'll be getting a gamemode in which the weapons will get locked tbh. I don't see them selling future weapons if that wasn't the case. That or they powercreep, but I'd rather they do the first. Endgame content (ToA) allowing us to swich equipment of characters has allowed me to Raise and Build Calcharo, Jiyan and Jinhsi with only Jiyan signature weapon. And basically saving a ton of resources when it comes to the weapon. (30/30 stars)
Its perhaps one of the only gacha games where pulling for the weapon has more priority than the characters. This is the only game where I actually pulled for the weapon without spending all on the character banner
You only need 3-4 five star weapons because the TOA needs only a single team per run. So its very forgiving.
The sword and gun from the standard banner come with crit rate, so pulling those two you would only need a broadsword, rectifier and gauntlets as f2p
In game we have 2 free weapons what we take upon the quest - broadblade from Inferno Rider's (def type) and again broadblade from turtle quest with rhythm mini-game, but this is 3* with atk and concerto energy passive. If last weapon have doubled the number of passive they be wery intresting place holder and also have unique designs what i really like see on Jinshi.
Maybe we need more unique weapons upon world quest so we can build beginners arsenal as well.
For my perspective why we wanna 4* weapons is because Genshin do this, but keep in mind what most of the 4* event weapon just NERFED signature for some character and you know how hard to pull in GI (260+ pull in worst case) so Genshin players so in love with 4* weapons. Olso genshin itself have some broken units like crit dmg catalist with random note baff, Catch spear, and more... also 3* full of crit too.
if weapon has crit rate/ crit dm main stat pull for it you might not gonna use it now but in the future.

The go to strategy for this situation would be get the standard 5 star sword and pistol dince they have crit stat ( i have done the same all my free standard pull went to weapon banner) and thry try to get other 3 weapon types crit as main stat if you are f2p the passive should not matter to you it will only be a different around 7 8% so lile if you have jinshi weapon just use 8t on other future broadblade character if you have changli dont pull for her weapon use the standard sword this way your characters damage wont fall behind that much and you wont be obligated to pull for every limited weapon just get each type with crit after that if you like a character and want to pull for their weapon you are free so since your other characters aren't falling behind because of 4 star weapon
4 star weapons gain in power when you merge them.
The higher the rank of Variation the better it gets. Some 4 star weapons are genshin version of favonious set. So no, they are not totaly usless for support characters as 5 star on support is a waste anyway.
Gauntlets21D get realy strong as you have to dodge in this game anyway. And best is that you can craft them.
I'd say 5* on supports is just if you want to make extra sure their coordinated attacks deal enough damage to get better clear times, other than that it's not really needed to get support signature weapons, dps units are the ones suffering the most from not having them
I want to mention one thing about 4 star weapons that you have invested into that are not useful anymore due to them being replaced by 5 star weapon:
You said, you will never get back the resources you spent on them. That is only partially true. You can use them as upgrade material(fodder) for 5 star weapon and that will save you tons of money and energy cores(if you overcap in xp, it will refund the rest). Ofc in this method you will not get any ascension materials back but it is definitely better than nothing. I recommend doing this for one of the later stages of ascension (lvl70-80 or 80-90) of the 5 star weapon as it will have the most bang for buck in terms of money.
I agree that 4* weapons are underwhelming but wuwa give lots of pulls per patch and weapon banner is guarantee so save up for weapon shouldn't be too hard right?
just don't pull on every banner, 1 character and 1 weapon per patch seem achievable.

Aren't you even guaranteed to get any 5* weapon in Genshin from event weapon banner? Though Genshin has great 4* options. While WuWa gives you weapon banner guarantee at the cost of great 4* options. Then again, Genshin also gave people Bennett, XQ and Xiangling and Beidou.
In the end, it feels like one is forced to wish on weapon banner which takes very long to get unless giving up event chars for event weapons. No one wants to do that. SO they complain. makes sense. Coming from Genshin, this makes perfect sense.
WuWa does many things better than Genshin, 4*s isn't one of them.(4* weapons and the 4* from the start of the game I mean)/
(Heck, some 3* weapons have crit stat and are good to use, while others are good for support).
I would say 4* weapons are ok on supports and maybe some sun DPS.
But the difference for a main DPS is huge.
Best example Jinshi all of the 4* weapons don't fit her its at least 20%dmg loss and even more for some weapons and that is a lot.
But atleast the 5 star weapon can work on a lot of characters lime Jiyans weapon is good on Jinshi and vice versa
Honestly i dont see the issue, ya'll are treating this like this is genshin. This game makes it extremely easy to get 5* and limited 5* weapons, you literally get one for free aswell and you can choose exactly what weapons you want to get when you wish.
Genshin has very good 4* and 3* weapons and fish weapons so people don't feel the need to even bother with weapon banner.

i mean its barely 2 months of the game's launch with only 1 new map and not even a new region. They might add better weaps from event or new regions if we just give enough feedbacks. On the otherhand in genshin pulling for weps is so cringe not only cuz of the rates but also cuz of how niche it is or barely any difference to f2p options
Like you said in this vidya I feel the balance of "the 4 star weapons lowkey suck, but you can share weapons/echoes across characters in the Tower" is a nice one. The fact its a guarantee banner + we have the selectable standard weapon banner makes them feel more alluring then mandatory, but theres still pressure nonetheless.
One aspect you didn't mention is when you go from one to two 5* weapons of the same weapon type, you get to "double dip".
For example, if your main DPS has a 5* sword (genesis) and your sub DPS only has a 4*, should you get a signature 5* for the main DPS, you can now give the genesis 5* to your sub DPS.
The thing is, the standard 5* weapons are very easy to acquire. And while they aren't as good as the limited ones, they're pretty good as well (except for the great sword which really is just a stat stick)

I think the community is very early. To give you an idea, my 100% f2p account of the gasha game that starts with the letter G, at 3 years old, only has 5 5* weapons including 3 from the standard banner. In WuWa, after just 2 months of playing, I already have 3 5* weapons. The question with WuWa is: How relevant will t4* weapons be in the long term of the game? In my opinion, they will only be relevant in Support units and a viable damage option in Sub DPS units. With the weapons banner guaranteed, it is our responsibility to plan to get all Main DPS units with their signature weapons.
I came to the same conclusion a few weeks ago. You have no idea how much I regret pulling for Lustrous Razor, when just a few days later I got my hands on Ages of Harvest. I missed out on getting Static Mist much earlier. ugh
Pretty easy to get 5* weapons as F2P. Just save for desired char and weapon, it's 100% drop on the weapon. Only use Lustrous Tide on the standard weapon convene. Not to mention the free 5* box at 45. 4* are there to fill the gap until you get 5*. It's simply a time thing not even luck based...
Out of all the 4 star weapon the only weapon I still keep using aside from Variation on Verina... is Overture on Sanhua and even then due to Sanhua's smaller energy reqs I don't need to use it exclusively. Commando of Conviction is out due to Emerald of Genesis (Changli weapon please come home 😂). Helios Cleaver is out as well due to Lustrous Razor and Ages of Harvest.
Same the Jinzhou Keeper situation is bad especially losing out on Yinlin's weapon banner, now I'm thinking just pony up for the battle pass 4* Augment.
I heard that the battle pass weapons are just as bad as other 4*s or only a little better but still much worse that 5*s

U can get crit greatsword / claw from battlepass to r5 kindafast (crit, -10% to 5* standard weapons) then take crit sword/gun from standard 5* pool (both very good)
Then grab the leftover of meh weapons (especially catalist for encore, I took mine from the electro milf alrdy) and upgrade from there.
At least it's my strat as low spender (daily reward+battlepass)
No rush. The hardest thing is get lucky and have ER cata for our lovely and only support :V
I like the 4 star energy recharge sword and also Variation. There are some good 4 star weapons and also the game is just beggining so they may be better 4 star options in the future.
I really think this is just an issue since we're so early on and the fact we got SO many free pulls. If they release more units with unique scaling (like yuanwu, baizhi, taoqi) then theres room for really interesting builds. Currently the high end content in the game is pretty much bosses with pretty much 100% dodgeable mechanics. However, if they start introducing bosses that have unavoidable damage there might be some consideration for more unique teambuilding. For example, i played another gacha game called Dragalia lost. That game had really unique teambuilding because different bosses required specific things. Some bosses started the fight with unavoidable damage so you'd need a unit or gear to bump up your defense to survive, then you'd just heal up. Hopefully we'll see some more unique team building pretty soon.
I had a feeling about this and its one of reasons i pulled for changlis weapon but didn't pull her.
the biggest problem is how hard it is to get crit rate in this game, the 4 cost crit rate is way too low
My take on this 4* weapon problem is that in this game your sub dps as well as your supports either need to buff or deal dmg themselves, hence I feel like the game want those 4* to be used by sub dps and supports rather than the main dps but yeah i admit there's a huge gap in 4* and 5* weapons

No your right. Mtashed called this out early on aswell. What it also means is that pulling on the weapon banner feels bad. Since essentially the 4* weapons are so shit in comparison. The only ones you want is the support one giving you concerto energy and there is always only one on the banner. So you might have to wait 5 banners and potentially pull on a 5* weapon banner you dont want just too get the better 4* rotation support weapon :S.
The moment I realize that weapons are shareable in the abyss-like content, I knew pulling limited 5star weapon is a great strategy in the long run, specially for main dps characters.
Yeah, pick sword free and pulled changli sword, my next go with freepulls is picking the revolver with crit....
That's why I have : Jiyan weapon, Yinlin weapon, standard 5* sword (+ maybe Changli weapon), standard 5* guns and I can get the 5* gauntlets if I want to but probably will pull for the next 5* limited gauntlets (because crit stats are way too much valuable).
I think for WuWa it's fine if 5 star weapon are mandatory because the pull are guaranteed but wished they could lower the pity for weapon like in PGR or maybe that's too much because its 30 pull in PGR
I think a 70 pity on the weapon banner would have made a lot of sense to make it just a bit cheaper than the character banner. With it being a separate currency I think people would end up spending potentially more in the long run.
4*s would be better if they had a better secondary stat pool, if they added stats like basic dmg bonus, heavy dmg bonus, etc. it would make 4*s competitive to 5*s.
There is still room for releasing event purple weapons, which probably will be the case and they probably will be better than regular purps, especially if they have crits. Sounds like copium for now, but if following some certain game is an indication of anything, we might expect it.

Pretty fair criticism and actually something i forgot to put in the survey last patch. The weapon banner is so good with 100% guarantee in 1 pity but they shouldn't have botched the 4 stars THIS much.
Nah, I would prefer to have more units, that some stat sticks. Slowly I will build pity with free weapon pulls and get some limited, but right now the best option is to get 2 5stars standard weapons with crit (sword and pistol), then buy 3 BP for 4star crit weapons (broadblade, rectifier, gauntlet)
And the only difference you can have with stat sticks is to clear some of the end end end game with full stars, that will give you 1 extra pull - wow amazing trade of 60-80 pulls per weapon right?)
The only sad thing, that Kuro made new unique weapon from quest a 3star - that's a total BS, it looks cool, have unique sound effects, but nobody would ever use it, plus you can't even refine it...
Well I have thought this from the very beginning, so I decided to pull all type of weapons at least 1 for each one a 5 star with crit stats.

Tbf if the 5* doesnt have much benefits over 4* then people won't have any incentive to do the gacha to get them.. Plus the game contents can be done with 4* or the generic 5* weapons anyway, especially if you have good echoes and/or good playing skills.. Sure its fun seeing your unit destroy the bosses in just a few seconds, but its not like we're required to do that...
But I do want at least the craftable ones to have better stats or effects. While it only takes a few days to farm one set of 150 ores but the 2 blocks you also need can only be farmed 3 times a week and it's still rng if you can even get one..

When I started the game I didn't appreciate just how much value a 5-star weapon would have over 4-star, but as soon as I did I made the commitment to pulling Stringmaster. I definitely am glad I did now, especially given that I use Encore and Yinlin in the Tower. Now I'm looking at these powerful limited weapons as much as an investment for future characters as I am the current roster, which I think is a good perspective to have if you plan on sticking with the game long term. That made the decision to pull Jinhsi's weapon pretty easy.
I'm going to stick with the standard banner 5-star sword for the foreseeable future, but as soon as we get a good limited 5-star pistol or gauntlet that's worth its weight I suspect I'll be pulling those as well.

As a f2p I am gonna be honest: I dont care if 5 star weapons are OP. Make them instantly kill enemies with a single hit if devs so desire. Whale players finishing PVE content faster than me doesnt affect me in any way. Devs can do that if it makes them money to keep developing the game. As long as they dont put out content that can actually only be finished with those weapons, that would be my only issue with it.

You'll never use 4star weapons because you can just swap weapons and echoes as you please in tower. I like that you can swap weapons around but there's almost no incentive to use any 4star weapons other than when you start a new account.

What? For 3 stars they have slingshot, twin nephrite, white tassel and HoD. 4 star "the catch" has burst 16% crit rate with huge energy substat. Widsith 4star also has sizable amount of crit damage.

I refuse to acknowledge 3 stars weapon, because they have very little base attack and either very niche, or only make sense to be used in absolute giga strong unit like Alhaitham (HOD), and Alrecchino (White tassel). There is 1 3 stars weapon gauntlet in WuWa that has Crit substat, but I refuse acknowledge it.
tbf 3stars are good for those EM scaling attackers. They don't mind about low base stat weapons as long as substat and weapon passive fits them.
For now getting 2 standard 5 stars are easy gun and sword so you need 3 more types after that you will have all types of 5 star weapons, for f2p they will work for long time getting new character is more important
3 star weapons are great in this game. They don’t need to be leveled, yet enable under built characters to carry rejuvenating glow set to buff the whole team because the 3 star weapons can heal
Why does the other 2 support need 5* weapons? My main dps is the only one. My main is on the field most of the time anyway.
they should consider lowering the pity for the weapon banner tbh atm is just as high as the char banner wont fix the terrible 4 stars but atleast makes the 5 stars somewhat more accessible
