Glad you’re putting a “gog” slant on some of these. Diolch.

That pub over your shoulder was my first ever local, many moons ago! Also, today is my birthday, so I shall pretend that one of your greetings was 'Penblwydd hapus i ti, Ceris!". :-)

I'm from South Wales, but even I know the most common greeting in North Wales is: "Iawn cont?" :D Da iawn brawd, diolch o chi'n waith!

Tara ‘wan is more usual than Hwyl am rwan. Hwyl is pronounced who ill rather than hoil. Wela i is normally pronounced as welai (well eye). 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿😃

The different pronunciations are because I speak Welsh with a South Wales accent and pronunciation, I’m afraid. I am working hard on trying to pick up some of the North Wales pronunciations though, so I can teach them better. In the meantime I’m focusing on teaching some of the word and grammar differences. Wish I hadn’t missed Tara ‘wan in my research though. Thanks for letting me know.
