@@Harperlarp how do you constantly adapt to the changing input lag? Some other fighting games show how many frames of delay the connection is, with this game you just gotta feel it out.
Also the reason it's harder while standing is because your hit box is changed so the timing is different because the attack hits you at a different time if that makes sense

Yeah, if you time it right you can flawless block at 1st hit, just like with projectiles. The amount of times I've accidentally flawless blocked a poke is off the charts.
@@vallo1764 Most of the time the second hit of a string will get you before the u2 hits. It's best to flawless block punish either the last hit of a string (after a gap), or a poke/jump in.
up 3 is and invincible punish. Teach ppl they should use up 3 as well if they get interrupted “ you can’t punish lui lang’s enhance fireball so you have to watch out” yea you can just use up 3 !!!
I never use u3 from a flawless block because I feel that's a complete waste of 2 bars of meter. I'll do a u3 as a wakeup if my opponent is particularly aggressive and tries to hit me with meaties all the time. But if I'm gonna flawless block something they do I'm gonna want to get damage off it as my reward, that's what the u2 is for. U3 doesn't lead to combos,.
I feel like flawless block is the reason this game seams so casual to me. FB is hard and takes alot of practice but the string kang and Jade throw out required no effort. I think I'm about an average player but I can't get FB down so now I "eat shit" from lower level players all the time lol. Granted I just started practicing it but still sucks I have to go the extra 10 miles.
The kick isnt just safe, its plus. Any good Liu Kang will rarely do that string or mix in another of his MANY mix ups. You can 12 ice ball in the gap. Or flawless block into certain strings. Jax can flawless block into f33 and full combo punish meterlessly.
I have notice that sometimes moves don't work at the practice mode you know you do it but it doesn't happened for some bug reason.. It happening in Mkx too.. I just reset it and then working again..

Now if you flawless block you have few seconds to press up to it'll work. Also you can record your opponent doing jump kicks and try to flawless block that. It takes a very good practice to be good at it but it's really good once you've learnt it

ThePetulantPanda yeah, but it’s hard to react to whether it’s gonna be the razor rang or the kick. Plus if you flawless block it people might be inclined to not try that string again. I’ve noticed when I flawless block punish someone they never go for that combo again. It scares them, lol.

Good Jades will usually go for the amped razorang (that comes out earlier than the kick so you can carry on blocking for a split second and if it doesnt come out. Release block and the tap it again and itll FB the kick) and doing the duck under the amplified razorang. A lot of Jades go for that first in the hope that people dont know you can duck and dont know its plus. Once you've done that, then theyll try the kick and BOOM. FB that bitch.
I'm claiming trophies and I can't do one of tutorials I'm playing on ps4 I must block twice with flawless block AND counter it it's crazy and impossible for me my finger hurts after few trials
Well that's Liu kang's only plus string and People still complain. It's shame that liukang doesn't have more strings to start his combos for now if i remamber there are about 6 strings leading to combos but most of them are risky
Do you know if you can flawless block the 2nd attack in a string after normal blocking without the gap? I know this is possible with a gap. But in the other situations. Like for example flawless block an entire string?

Flawless blocking seems to he useless in most situations. After a while i forget we have that mechanic since I normally poke or grab during a gap. The timing is difficult when online and difficult when reacting with a follow up. I say it us a very situational defensive option. There are better options characters can do with out spending the meter or risking it on committed string.
Of course it's a very situational option, but use it in the right situation and you get a big advantage. I've had people flawless block punish my jump in kicks before. Those are usually really strong but these people turned my jump kicks into combos for them. You can do a safe string to bait a poke and flawless block punish that poke instead of just having to block it and lose your turn. It's a high level mechanic that when used in the right situations is incredibly useful and can turn the tide of a fight in an instant, plus it looks cool and you know someone did it on purpose. When people flawless block punish me I'm like 'Ok, they know what they're doing'.
Harperlarp true to some extent but it is a mechanic that has alternative plays. For example liukangs kick combo can be punished every character into a combo without needing a flawless block. Subzeros overhead 2 is also punishable on block. Kabals is also a good example where flawless blocking his moves are useless since his strings are quick and countering them will punish you. Sure you flawless block the last hit but by that time you can just punish him normally without needing ti spend the meter.

How can Sub Zero punish the Liu Kang kick string if they finish it with the kick that has a krushing blow? The final kick is plus, meaning it's still Liu's turn. The flawless block punish means you can take your turn back.
Arcade Roulette did you even watch the video? Lui kang can instead cancel into the fire ball, so if you poked the fireball would hit you. You never know. Poking is taking a risk. Flawless blocking not really

Flawwless blocking is a powerful tool if you can get used to it. I think it's good that the tutorials actually teach some middle/advanced techniques instead of just 'This tha block buttin'.

Blocking and flawless blocking are different things, flawless block is a mechanic new to the series with MK11. You’d think after a 9 minute video that explains this you’d understand it. D D in AI options in the pause menu you can choose record. Record yourself doing the projectile and it’ll loop what you recorded, if that makes sense.

No. You can only flawless block the first hit or a hit after a gap. If there's no gap you're still in block stun and so can't do anything.
