Thanks for this. I just decided to give this game a try because WoW sucks now and I never played it before. It seems like a great game but every build guide that I have found seems to assume that I have access to a lot of the top gear in the game. This is much better for my very first time through the game.
I love videos like this , I really appreciate it since most people just do builds with items like shako or enigma or something else crazy with all the stats +40 and its kinda unrealistic for players that are starting and play single player. thanks a lot.
Do you realize how wrong you are? In SP you don't have seasons and basicly infinite time to find those things. Additionally, you put shako and enigma in one row. This is incredible xD
@@Amoeby well to a new player both these things seem pretty unobtainable and while in sp you have infinite time, without a clue how to go about thinga those high set goals only discourage new players

@@Fulbor if someone does not know anything about this game, then he should watch videos on mf, game mechanics etc. Fortunately, there are quite a few of them. And I guess it's pretty obvious that all is fine when meph drops almost every time a unique or set items.
This video very useful and helped me alot. I started playing trapsin on Hardcore with shield and find really cool "spirit" runeword in long sword (thx Lazruc quest) and Rhyme in shield. Also got lucky to find Lem from NM hell forge and got mine 'Treachery'. I read comments and am very glad to see that such a classic game as Diablo II has not been forgotten.
Trapsin was my first ever character build. This is very useful and highly underated. A good build and I recomend it to new players and those new to assasin builds
You sir are awesome. This is exactly the kind of video i was hoping to find. Never played this class and needed information on the build, stat points how the synergies worked etc. thank you
One of my favorite build and one of the easiest single player build. Realy usefull video for a new guys. Let me suggest also to invest a point into Mind blast. MB is good when your trapsin is surrounded by monsters. It is even safetier with MB. The other part of this build is investing the rest point after maxing LS and DS to fire blast. With so many +traps items FB is really awesome when you face imunne to lightining monsters. And the last thing is the Mercinary. He should be hire from ACT II nightmare. Holly frieze aura is additional safety move by that trapsin + it deals a little bit cold dmg, that is ok when you face imunne to lightning monsters. Anyway the build is great, it is so much fun to play with.
Gonna play d2resurrected when it comes out, and I may surpress my powergamer instincts and not start with an mf sorc and go for a chill low budget trapsin instead. Good vid!
right people are like "BUDGET BUILD GUIDE" and they mean you already have a 600% MF Sorc farming Hell. Not you're trying to clear the game with a fresh toon etc
Normal Act 3 is the best place to shop for a staff with a teleport charge on it. You want to avoid having other mods on the staff so that it is cheaper to recharge.
Alternatively you could just use a Spirit Shield and Weapon (quickest access). Or create a cheap gold find barb and gamble claws instead which would give you better chance to get gg claws and not waste too much time in process.
best guide I have (ever) come across - however, I see that u have a relatively high level ass. 'prepared' and are distributing the points - is there a possibility to rearrange my skill points once I've spent them for some random skills, or would I just have to try and play from lvl 1-50 with ...well, low level skills? -ty
hellforge has no point honestly because you can only do one time per difficulty , unless you have America 's time to open new character every time and redo it .
Great guide, I didn't even know you could use dual claws for a +4/+5 or even +6 (if you are patient enough) traps boost, so that helped me a LOT. But I have a question, when I use the lower resist wand, some enemies don't lose their LI and end up still killing my merc and/or me. So how could I avoid that? Does the wand lower their resistance but level 2 is too low to reduce it totally? I can't get past Hell Act 1, haven't even fought the Countess yet. I'm getting frustrated haha.
That's a problem I've dealt with just recently. So here's what I did, might help you. I started with Lore helmet, Stealth armor, and Ancient's Pledge shield runewords. That's quite typical since affordable. Next, I (edit: almost, i.e. >50) maxed out my resistances, finding good clothing, jewelry, and charms. My mercenary is act V barbarian which started to deal damage only after I found a good two-handed unique sword for him. But even before that he was good as a tank and distraction. Today I found that with Coif of Glory unique helmet he makes enemies blind upon each hit. That's extremely useful as immune archers tend to run away all the time. Tactic against immunes is following. You quickly estimate how many non-immunes are there so you can kill them. If there are more regular monsters, you drop mind blast on immunes so they don't damage you (the might even get converted and fight for you few seconds, so it's worth to spam mind blast), then you kill everyone you can asap and drop Death Sentries so that immunes are killed by those blows. Few accidental survivors can be killed by merc and your Fire Bomb. But when there're too many of them you simply don't fight them. Run them through. Cloak of shadows is a cool thing to cast only it reduces your visibility, so you might still stick to mind blast - convert someone and run-run-run past them. Anyway, be ready to get frustrated if you make it to act 3 hell since almost everyone is lighting immune there. If not for the MrLlamaSc's guided walkthrough I'd give up a long time ago. So it's useful to watch his hell tactics. Hell difficulty isn't called Hell for nothing after all. And for the rest you have this cool D2D2's guide which covers the basics. I wish I'd found it when I was starting all this.
@@Werrm Well I already frustrated myself enough to start playing another character only to face the same problem when reaching hell, so I guess it's not a character problem but the game being intended to be hard as hell. I'll still save your comment as it not only seems to work well but you were kind and patient enough to write it in a way anyone can understand. I think I even got the ingridients to craft those runewords and probably have some great unique swords for the merc, all I've been doing since I can't get past act 1 Hell is farming lol. Thanks a lot buddy, as you say, withoug someone to guide you this game is tougher than anything I've played before. Even more, I didn't even know it until MrLlama's videos popped in my recomendations and got addicted since then hahaha.
@@reclutacontramontina5354 @Recluta Con Tramontina it's so relatable, my friend. I didn't mention it but the trapsin is my first character to beat hell difficulty ever. And I was playing this game as a lil kid back then when it was released. Last year I also got some yt recommendations and decided to give it a try once again. But my summonmancer got stuck in hell merely progressing towards act II. This is why I think guided playthroughs are gold. Cause if I've never seen how difficult some parts are even for a pro like Llama and how he deals with those, I'd think it's literally impossible and that's how I've given up many times before. Let me brag a little. Now I sacrificed my resistances and got myself Treachery (Shael+Thul+Lem) armor and two Spirits (Tal+Thul+Ort+Amn) as a sword and a shield. This week Ist rune dropped somewhere in Arcane Sanctuary so I've made a Delirium (Lem+Ist+Io) helm. Each of those gives +2 to my skills among some other useful features. Now half of my inventory is +X to strength charms to hold a shield (156 str is the lowest possible requirement for 4 socket shield). But overall I'm satisfied since my Lighting Sentry now deals 1-6k damage and firebombs can kill ghosts in chaos sanctuary or any other immune in a sane amount of time. Delirium kinda sucks tbh cause this 1% procs more often than 15% of Fade on Treachery. Now I can farm hell cows on /players 8 and hell pits on /players 5 is doable unlike before I got all this stuff giving me +8 to my skills, maybe even /players 8 is possible but I'm afraid yet, it's too dark there. Some useful conclusions out of all this for you: ☺ don't give up, it's eventually real, maybe the problem is you're using inconvenient keyboard shortcuts, it matters a lot ☺ don't waste points on fade cause later you'll have lvl 18 fade from your armor, focus on burst of speed approach ☺ don't make delirium if you have +2 to your skills helm, it's not really worth it ☺ watch someone's gameplay, cause it takes more than explanation to get the idea of the build
