For an interview with Howard, he was extremely gracious enough to give me a couple of hours of his time in 2020: interview here: cafe.nikoskatsikanis.com/episodes/howard-drossin

I get that there's a lot of added crap on top of the game footage, but is that Sonic using the insta-shield on a vine? Can you do that? :/

It's incredible how disingenuous this is. From everything I've heard about the industry, most makers of video games work brutal hours for relatively modest pay. Never trust anyone who tells you that you can make tons of money just goofing off and having fun.

    • @Melf00

I don't doubt that the hours are horrible and the pay as well, but most people in the industry that I've spoken to have mostly great things to say about their time.

@@Melf00 That was back in the day. Back when I visited Atari and Sega those guys loved working there. Yes the pay sucked and the hours sucked but it was video games. But now? It's literally a factory of misery. Contract work, building stupid slot machine mechanics and cosmetic garbage instead of game-play all to satiate some Wall St. dbags. How do I know? I spent 15 years on Wall St. as a technologist for firms that had major stakes in video games. It's literally a machine now, how much money can you milk from the customer using predatory tactics that cater to peoples addictive qualities. Video gaming for the most part now is garbage because of this.

America should have donea better job investing in programming classes. Even just the basics in elementary school. It should be taken every single grade, just like math, and english are. Now our country is behind, Russia and China
