damn this felt so intense and really deminstrates the feeling the devs wanted you to feel. like a rat in the walls and dark corners trying to not get killed.
I absolutely love these high tension missions dude they are just chefs kiss with the mechanics bones we got, once they put some meat on them these will be such a rush to do
I think its such a delight to know how capable the devs are so we can expect improvements in all aspects of this game. The mechanics will only get even better. Cheers!
When I played Mech Trenches I immediately understood one thing. I am not the soldier trying to survive the war. I am not even the civilian taking refuge in the trenches as the Germans bomb it. I am less than the trench foot. Hell, I wasn't even one of the rats that gnawed on the corpses of the dead. I was the flea on the ass of the diseased mouse that was being kicked out of the way by a cat so it could hunt a rat. Though I was smaller than a worm I was still attempting to turn and in that turning suck the blood of things that might as well be gods compared to me, each with their own gods over them and a God over them all. Perfect Grimdark.
I really appreciate the somewhat circuitous route you took around the map, really showed off as much of it as you could (save for one particularly grisly area, mind, but who knows how well that plays with youtube's monetization, and why not leave a surprise for others to find, anyhow?)
Thanks for noticing my route, it was actually somewhat improvised but I did know what shortcuts to retreat to, to relieve enemy attention. I do want to run this map again under different quests and starting/extract points, but yeah some areas are pretty disturbing so if I show them it would be pretty minimal.
Seems like whenever I'm close to drones they decide to take me on. I was dumbfounded when they didn't agro on you. There were two of them, and you were the only target there!
Agreed! AI already has most of the basic functions like threat detection, patrolling, reinforcements, etc. Devs just needs to really polish what they have first then trickle in one more mechanic at the time (personally would like to see if they can script the AI to flank and take cover.)
It's killing me that I can't play this game. I pray I comes to console bc my PC can't run it and I'm not smart enough to fix it if it runs into technical problems. Thank you for your uploads bc it's basically all I watch now.
Hey brother, I just built my PC 2 months ago with no PC knowledge and just kept an eye on sales for the parts I need. I didn't even know about this game before I built it! If it comes to console that would be killer but I'm hopeful you can play sooner and even on PC (the devs say they plan to optimize their game so lower end PCs can handle it. Sending you the best vibes and definitely have more footage on the way. Thank you for watching!!

@chookyYT tarkov with good devs, anti war message, ultra grim dark... but the jank is real. When that first mech warps in from the ether I also clenched a bit lol. Comically I am sitting on a base 2080 so just going to wait and hope for patch magic. Zen 6 and 50's are soon so might as well wait.
@@815TypeSirius Yes! The magic patch with optimization, I think once that releases the reputation around the game's performance will be much better and gain more trust from players. I run an Nvidia 4070 Super FE, and even I think it's just "ok" - the game makes it look bad at times lol. Really want this game to flourish because of all the depth it has despite all the issues. @@giraffe2928 Seeing how transparent and down to earth these devs are, not to mention they are gamers like you and I, I have high hopes they will continue to improve and grow this incredible project.
They can hear but they don't exactly go right into alert phase, they're just suspicious (question mark). I've noticed if you don't time a stealth melee correctly they can hear you sneak up on them and will be immediately hostile. I also think it's the type of enemy you're up against (cyborgs seem to have better perception than the others.)
this game looks super boring. is combat that jank or broken or is it just so much of a one sided risk that its not worth it? the movements also dont seem like the character controls well at all
Tried to keep it stealthy so there wasn't much "action" but it has very heated moments when you have to fight. Fighting is an option but it will only aggro the factions to come after you, so you'll be challenged if you're trying to extract with loot. Combat's basic but the controls/movement, as well as a lot of aspects of the game still need a lot of work. Despite all the issues, the early access is still a lot of fun and I am very optimistic for it's future.

That’s why I’m so interested in this game, I like guns blazing as much as the next guy but a little ratting is good for the soul.

Actually being stealthy and not shooting everything! Nicely done!

It's good to see a game that doesn't relent from showing graphical reality about war, a great concept indeed. Great video!
Hyper stylized reality maybe not reality yet maybe in the future
Love this walkthrough, not a single round shot. Smooth and efficient. Beautifully done!
If they can sort the AI this game will be an absolute masterwork.
In their QA videos they've brought up that they will continue to update the AI behavior. I'm pretty confident in their work to deliver.
I LOVE how different the maps feel. Mech Trenches feels like it’s from a Metal Gear Solid game
You can tell the devs are gamers too the way the way the game plays out. I'm sure a couple of them took inspiration from MGS patrol AI!
This is the cleanest footage ive seen uploaded so far. Nice job
Holding this comment close to my heart, because that was the goal! I'll be continuing this trend as best I can with future content. Thank you!
loved the lay out of the whole route, from underground infil to M.G.S. esc sneaking past mechs

Glad it works as a walkthrough!
Imagine the AI behaviors in Alpha version.
Wonder if they would investigate any sound and go there to check it.
Their recent Q&A video and even previous ones stated they will continue to tweak the behavior of the AI - pretty exciting stuff!
I could see the devs being like "_This_ is how it's done!"
I'd love for them to see it! They deserve to see their game be played in their preferred, achieved vision!

Thank God someone that actually plays the game like a thinking being instead of just recklessly running around shooting at stuff lol
Way more interesting to sneak around than Rambo it! The game eventually discourages you to play recklessly anyway.
Man this looks so good, but I'm going to wait for a while until they take out the decay mechanics before trying it out

How anybody in the tunnels avoided hearing the doors opening I have no clue.

"Metal Gear Extraction."

Intense and scary. I'm years old and I'm not buying this game.
How did you know what code to input to hack that terminal?
The code is already shown in front of you when you pull up the keypad (top area), you just have to match the shapes

Noticed that too, but that's not happening all the time in different locations, as far as I know.

It's not as dark as it looks, I just prefer my games to have darker areas be black so my gamma was tuned a bit down.

I skip all the hacking missions. The symbols look nothing like what they represent and too similar to each other. Waste of time.
That's fair! I used to play a lot of Fallout 3 / NV /4 so I don't mind the hacking mini game, it reminds me of those good times!
footsteps way too quiet with all that junk around
If they implement a noise factor based off your loot's weight that would make for a far more interesting stealth mechanic.
