It’s my first car , I don’t know much about fixing car either. When there is something wrong with the car , I will try to go online to find videos about how to fix it . And while making sure safety first , I just go and do it , sometimes I would make it worst before I can actually fix it , but by getting my hands dirty i actually learned something along the way . I do be enjoying it though, especially when I fixed the problems, the sense of accomplishment are worth all the struggles. So far I do all the basics Maintenance for my cars.
sorry i havent seen your comment earlier , yes , in order to free up enough room for the oil pan to be remove , i needed to lift up the engine as much as i can . still need some persuasion to pull the oil pan out . i am sure there is a better and easier way to do it but i was just gunning it as i go . but.... it worked . XD
If I had to replace my rod bearings on this engine, would I have to lift the engine out?
I think you don’t have too but not sure , I have not yet needed to replace the rod bearings
Really need to do something like that to my car but don’t know enough

Same car too
What did you use to lift the motor?
Great video .. thanks
Most awesome concise how-to video I've seen on TH-cam as of yet!!! Beyond reproach!
Great video. Was the oil pump in the way of removing the pan?
Along with lifting the engine, did you have to undo the motor mounts?
Yes, absolutely. You can not lift the engine without first disconnecting the mounts. On a W202 C230 this is very easy.
Did you need to lift the engine to remove the oil pan? What were you doing at the top?

Did you lift the engine?
