The Helldivers 2 subreddit has shown me that despite server slam/bugs and subsequent instability the quality of a game can indeed shine through and be recognized by players. My only complaint about Helldivers after 40 hours is for the love of God fix the crossplay. It flat out doesn’t work. Whenever I get my buddy in a match with me (I’m on PC, he’s on PS) we can fill up the lobby for one match and then I have to restart my game entirely. Otherwise, we’ll have empty lobbies thereafter.
Ahh yeah that definitely needs to be fixed, sounds super annoying. But what a great game that kind of came out of nowhere. Like yeah, we knew it was coming and had seen gameplay but I think it really blew up expectations. I'm hoping Last Epoch can pull it off too and get this game rolling. They need to hopefully fix any issues (like what you just described with Helldivers). Thanks for your input!
Indie devs who care about their game, listen to feedback, have a CLEAR DIRECTION for the game will end up being a great game. AAA games feel like they're trying to add something of all genres or filling a bulletpoint list of things that they need and checking them off but its filled with the very bare bones of systems of other games. I look forward to playing a month or 2 of Last epoch at every cycle then switching to PoE2 for leagues then a single day of diablo 4 at the start of a season. (Got to level 38 in season 3 D4 put it down because I got bored day 1. I was looking forward to it)
Well said. Good point. I feel like devs for games like LE and POE are listening and watching their competitors while games like Diablo think they're holier than thou and fail at their ambitions. I can't wait to tap into LE and then see what POE2 brings. Very exciting times
So, if you compared release d4 to release Last Epoch, last epoch wins. If you compare to the "skeleton" of games, which is essentially d4 base lol D4 has a better support system but the codebase is dogshit. How are your inventories linked to the instance? They CANT give you more slots ahahaha. But the feel of d4 is much less floaty, Last Epoch has a ton of hitreg issues and I hope they fix that for release.
That Diablo 4 inventory linked thing is so bizarre to me. Their entire inventory is really. The items don't even have unique visual identities or anything and looking at the actual stats is such a strain on the eyes. Like did they not test anything? Did they not just fill a QA testers inventory with crap and said okay tell us how it feels to sort this? Epoch has issues which are hopefully being addressed but the base game is so much better to me it's such a win already! Thanks for your feedback I appreciate it
Hey so, totally understand. When coded, you make assumptions about the game, it turns into a web of connected systems that have a very delicate balance. Much like making your own lava lamp, any one variable off and it simply wont work. The system (i assume) was actually made to keep people in check. Diablo had a rampant duping problem, checking and double looking at everyones inventory is a great way to make sure erroneous items don't make their way back in. This is why drop/lag dupes simply dont work but you can dupe with a stash as it removes it. When making the pillars of the game, they must have deemed that making a sacrifice for easy dupe methods was necessary and they knew that at the time it would take a lot of work. Well duping happened WITH the stash as they knew would happen. Gold when traded is also "removed" so that happened too. Then through QA and this system being fine, they moved forward and pushed the game. The testers must have given feedback about the volume of items + itemization so they drop more frequently than intended. This was hyper evident on the super-unique items. It had like a .000001 dropchance and they were quoted it should have been a few a season for a few players. They wanted chase items. They must have had low droprates at one time but wanted to make it feel impactful. This is what I assume as a low level developer myself. LSS: They had to make a sacrifice for duping and doing so ran into an issue with the lack of item drops and tester happiness. Causing a compounded issue. If you want my long term game, they arent stupid. The expansion will 100% be the large itemization change and a fix for inventories, bringing back Diablo as the first expansion and winning everyone back, making them the heros again and appeasing the shareholders *(which control release dates) they dont wanna release shitty games. @@Sylvus66
The door is wide open for Last Epoch after D4s miserable failure. Let's see how this goes.
Miserable is accurate. A game half the price is 4 times as good. Crazy!

Seems good, we will see I guess.
Yeah it's got so much more to it. You'd like it for sure
Awesome Video 🎉
Thanks 😁 as always!
What an endorsement, They should be giving you a cut of the action
